Detailed Reviews
Located more towards the eastern edge of town and not far from the TCH this hotel is convenient for travellers passing through Medicine Hat. We have stayed at this hotel on a couple of occasions in the last two months while my wife has been hospitalized in MH for surgery. On the first occasion during late May, the hotel was much quieter than our most recent stay in late July but unbeknown to us, it was MH Stampede week and suddenly, everywhere was full.
The rooms are a good size but I would question the claim they are disabled accessible as the showers are in the bathtub and require a step up of 12+ inches to step in to them. A straightforward walk-in shower would be easier to deal with. The room we most recently stayed in dis have a shower stool for a disabled person to sit on but would still require being able to swing ones legs over the side of the bath.
The provided "Dove" brand shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are nice and come in three, large, wall mounter bottles. Towels were soft and enough for a couple of days.
Our most recent room had a queen bed, two night stands, desk and a large sofa that converted to a pull-out bed if required. Also included was a small fridge that does get extremely cold if switched up and can easily freeze a sandwich if turned too high. A wall mounted TV does provide enough Chanels to find something to watch while relaxing from a long drive and making the most of the AC while outside it was almost 40oC.
Staying in hotels always makes me nervous about bed bugs but I am happy to say that having pulled back the sheets and mattress cover there was no indication of anything that should not have been there.
We didn't use the pool, hot etc. but did access the coffee and cookies available at the front desk. Breakfast has multiple options which switch up slightly each day but the room was full and all tables were in use on our most recent visit. The time before it was less crowded with there being fewer guests all looking to eat at the same time.
Parking is plentiful around the building and there are a number of carts to help move baggage if needed.

Thank you for leaving us such a detailed and thorough review Hutch333id. We appreciate all of your comments and feedback and think that this review will be very helpful for other travelers looking at hotels in Medicine Hat. We are happy to hear that you found our location convenient and enjoyed the bathroom amenities. In future if you would like a walk-in shower, we do have an accessible room that does have this feature and it can be requested. Certainly your comments though are helpful and will be considered the next time we renovate those areas. Thank you for sharing your experience with us and with other travelers, we hope to serve you again in the future!

I stayed here during my 2020 March cyrus the covid-19 virus forced evacation from the USA to Manitoba.
I found the staff to be above and beyond igood n friendliness and helpfulness.
This is a stressful forced trip and this hotel provided a much needed very positive mid-trip respite. The room was very clean. It reflected the front desk clerks assertion they were virus proofing their rooms. I cannpt medically attest to this, but I have no reason to doubt it. During my trip home, I get comfort virus wise when the room is so meticulously generally cleaned.
Nearby food made the stopover as stress free as it can be under. the circumstances.
I have no problem recommending this reasonably priced hotel to all travellers needing to stay in Medicine Hat.

Conveniently located close to Highway 1 but that is also it's negative, located next to a flyover means trucks are noticeable if you area if you are a light sleeper. the duty manager was very helpful in recommending a restaurant nearby. Rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast is included in the very reasonable price

The hotel was fairly nice but we couldn’t get the temperature to cool down in our room even with the air conditioning on & areas of the carpet was folded up probably because it was stretched out. The breakfast had a fairly good selection but the hot food was not great especially the eggs which were rubbery. The pool wasn’t open as well but we don’t know why

Thank you for leaving us some feedback about your recent stay. I'm sorry to hear your experience did not meet your expectations, this is not what we want for our guests and is not typical. Depending on the outside temperature, the air conditioning will not necessarily activate at this time of year, but there are fan options on the heating/cooling units and our staff is available to help 24/7 with any issue as this. Our pool is currently being refinished as it was in need of a refresh, we expect it to be up next week and looking better than ever. I appreciate all of your feedback and will share it with our team to ensure we address these concerns for future stays. We hope you will consider giving us another try in the future!

We’re in a global health pandemic, there is a state of emergency in Alberta due to this pandemic and not a single staff member wore a mask during my stay here, not the afternoon staff when I came in, not the overnight auditor, nor the morning shift as well as any of the housekeepers I saw during my stay.
Why this is especially a shame is because the hotel is very clean otherwise. I checked nooks and crannies of different rooms and did not find any issues so that was nice.
Breakfast is nice to have the option between hot or cold breakfast to go, I had hot breakfast and it seems decent fresh each time rather than the typical microwaved bagel or whatever you get at these types of places during the pandemic.
My company booked my stay on Expedia, first room handicapped room with roll in shower, super clean good otherwise but the shower did not work, no water came out. Asked to be moved by FD staff and after some back and fourth they agreed to move me next door a room, with two queen beds not as clean but still passable.
Overnight auditor(can’t recall his name unfortunately) was very friendly and seemed attentive, no mask however...
Leanne was attentive and friendly checking me into the hotel, she had a mask but not in use, hanging off the side of her face.
I can’t recall her name but the woman working front desk in the morning wasn’t quite as attentive or friendly, she did have a mask with her nose sticking out of it however.
I’ve worked in hospitality for over 10 years in smaller hotels than this charging $60/night and hotels(including Wyndham) with more than 1200 rooms charging $1100-$9,000/night including managing a casino resort. I was overall impressed with the cleanliness but wish staff would wear proper PPE for themselves and for others protections as we during these tough times, had proper procedures been followed I would have given the place a higher score.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your comments I can appreciate your concerns and thank you for bringing your experience to our attention. I also want to thank you for letting it be known that you very thoroughly checked all our nooks and crannies and cleanliness was to your satisfaction or even beyond expectation which is what we strive for! :) On the point about the masks, the City of Medicine Hat did not have any public mask enforcement bylaw until December 2020. The strict measures we have had in place for the duration of this pandemic have been relative to the risk in our city, and in our building. We do provide sanitizer and wipes upon check in to every guest, have sanitizer at every touch point location, limit service and limit person to person contact as much as possible. We have many policies and procedures in place that are strictly adhered to. Please visit our Ready to Travel website for a breakdown of all our COVID changes. We do feel confident on the protection we have in place for both our guests and employees. The masks are only a small piece to a very big picture. As you know this is a very fluid event in our history, with which no one has experience. We are managing the changes in rules and expectations almost hourly. Expectations of society, of Brand, of our employees and of course of our guests. I am sorry we did not meet yours. We can only strive to do better. Our Front Desk has had plexiglass enclosure since the start of the pandemic, the city bylaw at this time states that with a plexiglass enclosure no mask is required behind the desk. The housekeepers are not required to use masks when they are working alone, only when in common areas, moving between rooms, or within 6 ft of another person. This is true with any employee working alone. I assure you we are following all guidelines and requirements as laid out by the law, and the industry, even better than the basic expectations in some cases - as we have had strict policies before the City even implemented the by-laws. Again I do appreciate your comments - the guest perception is vital to our success. We need to build on this to ensure we are meeting or exceeding our guest expectations. I am sharing your comments with the team and we will reflect on how to improve. Again, thank you. Safe travels!

The room was very clean and spacious. The king sized bed and sheets were so comfortable. The breakfast was excellent for a hotel. When we made our reservation it stated that there were 'free movies', but they wasn't and front desk staff didn't know anything about them. A minor issue ... but just be aware of that.

Despite having a policy that all guests wear a mask in public areas, none of the staff behind the front desk were wearing one. In addition, my family of four went to grab breakfast at our scheduled time and the server was not wearing a mask either! Not sure if she is the one who prepares the food or not but she certainly should have wore a mask considering she was handling our food and delivered it to our table. This seemed so odd considering the rise in cases in Alberta. Clearly the management team are not enforcing their own policies...
Other than that, the hotel was quite nice!

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. I can appreciate your concerns and thank you for bringing your experience to our attention. At the time of your stay the City of Medicine Hat did not have any mask enforcement bylaw, and our hotel had taken a stance at that time of educating our guests and requesting masks be worn for the health and safety of all. Our Front Desk has had plexiglass enclosure since the start of the pandemic and knowing what we knew then, that was sufficient enough barrier. The breakfast attendant had provided a doctor note excusing her from wearing a mask, and again at the time we went with what we knew to be "the right way" trying to balance guest expectations with employee health and comfort. As you know this is a very fluid event in our history, with which no one has experience. We are managing the changes in rules and expectations almost hourly. Expectations of society, of Brand, of our employees and of course of our guests. I am sorry we did not meet yours. We can only strive to do better and as I answer this the City of Medicine Hat has since implemented a mandatory mask bylaw and we have/will comply as such. We hope to see you again. Stay safe. Stay healthy.

Traveling with a toddler we stopped in Med Hat as a halfway point to our destination. Decided to stay at the Days in because of the availability and the cost. It is a nice hotel with large rooms, a smaller pool with slide for the kidlet, and breakfast. Travelling solo with a 2yo I was put in a room on the 4th floor far away from the elevators, so hauling our items was “fun” (but they did have carts to use). upon entering the room there was a lot of floor space which was nice. The in room mini fridge door had been left open so it was pretty much useless for us to use. The bed was decent though even when using a sound machine, the highway produced a lot of noise resulting in a frustrating sleep. Perhaps a room on the other side of the building would have been better. Overall good for the price though likely won’t stay here with a toddler again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review Jenny! We are happy to hear you found the hotel nice and your room spacious. We apologize that you had issues with the location of your room in relation to the elevator and highway. Whenever possible, if you are able to call ahead to book you can always make a request for the location of your room, such as close to the elevator or away from the highway. We do want to make your stay a good one, so whenever possible we will try to accommodate those requests. We would love to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future, if you will give us the chance.

We usually drive from BC to Ontario once a year. I plan our trip so we can conveniently stop at this hotel. We have used the Days Inn a number of times and obviously been. Very pleased with the experience. They offer all the facilities you may likely want and their morning breakfast offering iis fairly good.

Hello 'Jennifer C'. I am sorry that you did not feel that your complaint was handled the way you would have liked. It is not always easy to determine specific details about a guest's stay by simply looking on a Trip Advisor profile. We have done as much research as is possible, and your information does not match any recent stays in our system, this makes it difficult to trace the problem. Rest assured, the comments that you shared in your review have been taken very seriously and we will work very hard in the future to ensure that other guests do not have the same experience that you did.
