We stayed one night. Our room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tub. Check in was quick and easy. Parking was abundant with an electrical outlet to plug the block heater for our vehicle. I feel I received great value for cost

We were pleasantly surprised by this Holiday Inn Express. The front desk staff were very helpful and easy to approach and were genuinely interested in helping you. The rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast supplied with the room was more than adequate. And you are in walking or short drive distance to many fast food or sit down restaurants and fun shopping. We will stay there again on our next visit.

The context of this stay was a one-night stay along a road trip across western and central Canada. The property met all requirements for such a stay. It was conveniently located to the trans-Canada Highway. The property is clean and comfortable and safe, with friendly and helpful staff. The pool and water slide looked inviting and fun, but, alas, there was no time to enjoy it. I did, however, use the fitness room and was pleased that the equipment was modern and functional and well-maintained.
The breakfast was standard fare for Holiday Inn Express, which is to say it had a pretty good offering of both hot and cold items, ranging from healthy to indulgent.
I appreciate that the property allows pets. I'm not fond of "pet fees" but I recognize the reality that they are now the de facto standard in the lodging industry . . . and accordingly I will not feel guilty about offering my dog some food from the complimentary breakfast (she loves eggs). Having a room on the first floor near the side door was especially convenient for a dog.
All in all, it was a very nice stay. I don't expect I'll ever visit Medicine Hat again, but the property gives me a favorable impression of the city and if I ever did return, I would probably choose to stay here.

Our stay at the Medicine Hat Holiday inn & Suites We booked the room through ReservationCounter.com. They lied to us about the room. They told us it had a separate bedroom, dining table, and a full kitchen. We arrived to discover that the bed was not in a separate room, there wasn’t a dining table, or a kitchen. There was a little tiny fridge and a microwave (and the microwave was filthy inside. But we decided to make the best of it as a family. We did call down to the front desk and complained about the microwave being dirty. The lady at the front desk said that she would personally come up to clean it. (which I thought odd, but okay). She never showed up, so we cleaned it ourselves, and went on determined to enjoy our holiday. We received an email after our stay asking for feedback. We told our story, thinking we were doing them a favor in regards to the dirty microwave oven. Then we got the this nasty email from management. (The front desk girl lied and had made up fake paperwork apparently saying that she’d cleaned it, and then went on to lie about us being mean to her or something.)

Unfortunately, misinformation from outside sources is beyond our control, and we always recommend booking directly through the hotel to ensure the most accurate and up-to-date details about our services and accommodations.
Regarding your concerns with the cleanliness of the room, I want to assure you that all guest rooms are thoroughly cleaned and inspected by our team before each guest’s arrival. Our staff also made an additional effort to address your concern about the microwave, with documentation indicating that a member of our front desk team visited your room to ensure it was cleaned to your satisfaction.
However, I must also address the manner in which you and your family interacted with our team during your stay. Our staff works diligently to provide excellent service to all of our guests, and we expect all interactions to be respectful and courteous. Unfortunately, the treatment our team received from you was neither respectful nor warranted, and this behavior cannot be overlooked.
As a result of the way our staff was treated, we have made the decision not to welcome you back to our property in the future. We kindly ask that you seek alternative accommodations for any future visits to the area.

This htell has the worst customer service EVER. We stayed for 7 days and 3 of those days our room was not even cleaned. When I requested the night before at the front desk that our beds be actually made and our linen changed, they came to the door the next day, and our child said "no thanks", so they left. They did not try and call the cell phone on file and let us know what so ever. When I spoke to them when we returned that day and discovered our room wasn't cleaned, they told me how I should discipline my child and let them know that we wanted the room to be cleaned. They then hung up on me. Awful. Do not recommend at all. Amateurs.

The best night stay of our 4 week holiday travelling from Ontario to Alberta. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. After my husband and I checked in I asked the staff if our son and family could visit for a couple of hours. The staff cheerfully replied no problem and we had the most wonderful evening with our family. The next morning we required some copies of documents and Aiden, the front desk attendant, went out of his way to print the papers we needed. The cleaning staff and maintenance staff were also very friendly and went out of their way to be sure we were enjoying our visit. The hotel was spotless, the pool and slide amazing and breakfast was good. We can’t recommend this hotel more highly and our daughter-in-law made the comment that it should be classified as a 5 star hotel!

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Medicine Hat in room 306 and I was very impressed by the reception staff. She was friendly, helpful, and professional. She greeted me warmly when I arrived and checked me in quickly. Her name was Khush and she also gave me some useful information about the hotel amenities and the nearby attractions. She answered all my questions and made me feel welcome.
Khush also went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. She helped me book a taxi to the airport, arranged a late checkout for me, and even gave me a complimentary breakfast. She was always smiling and courteous, and she made sure I had everything I needed.
I would like to thank Khush for her excellent service and hospitality. She is a great asset to the hotel and she deserves recognition and appreciation. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Medicine Hat.

We were on a road trip back to Calgary from Winnipeg and decided to stop in Medicine Hat on the way. We arrived a little later than we anticipated, after 9 PM and had to say Hello loudly for a front desk person to arrive, greet me and check me in.
The room is nice, spacious and well appointed. I am not fond of the pillows. Too soft and no firm options available in the room. There are also a lot of night lights and other lights in the room that made it fairly bright at night. Just could not get the room dark enough for a good sleep.
Due to the Covid Pandemic, they still offer the free breakfast but there was a long lineup to get it as it has to be served out of a central room. I did not want to wait in a lineup for ordinary food. I went out and paid for a better meal elsewhere.
Happy to have stayed here though, and as a Gold Elite IHG member, we got extra points for being here too.

With restrictions having eased out we have dine in at the breakfast bar which takes away the concern of queues. We arrived an hour before the official check in time the front office staff were accommodating to our needs. We found the room cleaning, loved that they are no longer using single use containers, AC worked well and the breakfast had lots of options. The only thing that kept me from giving a 5 was that we were having trouble with our phone, when my husband spoke with the front desk clerk he said everything was fine from his end, after investigation from myself I saw the handset was not properly clipped in the back. In all a nice hotel.

This was a great hotel for an overnight stop. The rooms are large and well laid out, the staff was all extremely friendly.
Unfortunately we had a noise complaint made against us within 15 minutes of check in (5:45pm). The front desk staff was very nice about it, but it my guess is that the hotel doesn’t have very good noise proofing. We had simply checked in, set about unpacking our bags and getting ready for the pool. The phone call sent my daughter into a tailspin of anxiety and worry. She wouldn’t flush the toilet, or turn on the tap she was so afraid of getting another phone call. The stay at this hotel was supposed to be her special treat, and she was unable to enjoy the evening the way we had hoped.
The hot tub wasn’t working, and the water slide wasn’t working either. Luckily the staff called someone to fix the water slide, which was above and beyond at 6pm - they could have easily told us it wouldn’t be open and fixed it the next day.
All in all a fairly good experience.
