Stayed here because I was working and our company booked us in here. I should firstly mention that we worked here six months previous and stayed in the other location on the northbound side of the highway without incident. I am not writing this to complain or exaggerate because the rooms are sub par and not the cleanest, it called Western Budget for good reason. I just want to warn people that this place has bed bugs. I was staying in room 208 and sitting on the chair surfing the web on my laptop when I noticed something in the corner of my eye on the arm of the chair. I immediately stood up and leaned in closer for a look as the room was dimly lit. I knew what it was and instantly went for a tissue and apprehended the critter. Next, I took my new friend with me and went downstairs to show the front desk clerk. I was offered another room which I obviously accepted and my roommate and I moved.(room 205) The next morning I noticed I had been bitten by a bed bug which I unfortunately have experienced previously in my life to assure you readers that I am certain. I took pictures of both the bug and the bites. I can't blame the hotel or my company for being so frugal because I doubt bed bugs are discriminate as to where the go. Unfortunate luck for my this time as I do spend a lot of time working away from home and live in "cheap hotels" part time all over Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Got to the hotel at 9:15 pm for check in. We were tired after a long day and looking forward to a good rest. Went up to the room we were assigned only to find it full of garbage with unmade dirty beds. The front desk apologized for the mistake and assured us it would be cleaned in five minutes. Wrong!!! We finally got in at 10:15. While we were waiting i used the lobby washroom, gross! I had to clean dried pee of the seat before i could even use the toilet and they were out of paper towel. When we finally got up to our room it had a grungy feel to it, stains on the shower curtain, door etc. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable and I woke up with a headache and sore back.
The bright side was that we didnt have to drive home on horrible roads that night and it only cost us $80. However we will likely not stay there again!!

We found the rooms adequate (wife didn't like the decor much). Contains a full-size fridge, gas fireplace. Very economical as there is also a pool and a continental breakfast. The downside is the lack of security (had a neighbour pounding on a door for 15 minutes and yelling), thin walls and ceiling. The chandelier made noises every time someone walked above us in the room above.

Stayed for one evening and enjoyed our stay immensely. The managers were so friendly. We had a room with a jacuzzi and fireplace and there is nothing better then soaking in a jacuzzi after a long day of driving. The rooms were dated but they were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing offered such a variety of items.
The only complaint is the coffee both in the room and at breakfast was pretty bad.

Joan, the manager, was very friendly and professional. Made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in the door. The staff was professional. The room was amazing and beautiful! We were going to stay one night but as soon as we walked into the room, we went back to Joan and booked another night. The breakfast had a variety of items to choose from

We had stayed here in the past without incident - I guess our luck ran out.
When we checked in the room had a bit of an odor to it, seemed like something sprayed to try and cover cigarette smoke. After I took a nap I realized that there was blood on the sheets. Seriously! I double checked that it wasn't a cut on my leg or something and it wasn't. I immediately went to the front desk and complained. Before housekeeping arrived I noticed a dirty washcloth hanging in the shower and complained about that as well. I was so grossed out but hubby convinced me to stay since it was only one night and we watched them change all of the linens.
The next morning we grabbed breakfast before heading back to pack up and check out. We were drinking coffee chatting and all of a sudden our door opens and it's housekeeping (I assume) and they want to take all of the towels and linens. WHAT THE HECK???? Hubby told them we were checking out soon and to come back later. I have never, EVER, had someone barge in like that to essentially start cleaning the room, especially so close to checkout time (that was the one time we didn't have the dead bolt locked. Lesson learned).
The entire stay was a disaster and we will never, ever stay there or any Western Budget again. And no discount was given at checkout either (not that we expected it but it would have been a nice gesture to try and salvage some of the stay).

If you do decide to stay here check the room for cleanliness before you get settled in and ALWAYS keep the deadbolt locked on your door.

Just a final FYI, the access doors from the parking lot to the building don't have any locks on them so there is essentially no security in the building.

We stayed at the Western Budget #1 in August 2011, the room was spacious, very clean, and the motel was quiet. The Manager was very helpful with directions and any inquiries we had and very pleasant to deal with. Will definitely stay here again and recommend this motel.

I had the unfortunate pleasure of staying at this hotel for two nights (01/11/2012 - 01/12/2012) while out of town for work. I had quite the suprise on the 12th. After finishing a 12 hour day at work, while inquiring about checking out early AM the next day, the girl at the front desk informed me that they had moved my belongings to another room, due to some type of leak. When I got to my room, I discovered that one pack of cigarettes from my newly opened carton was missing, as well as my $70 pocket knife. When I confronted the staff they denied any wrong doing and they're reason for moving me changed a couple times. I searched all of my belongings several times, and even searched the room I was moved from several times. If the staff take it upon themselves to move my stuff, then they should make absolutely sure everything gets moved and nothing is missing, right? Shouldnt be touching my belongings to begin with. I have 60 days in which I can legally press charges and havent reached a decision yet, however, you might find the RCMP coming by with some paperwork in the near future.

I stayed in this hotel on the night of August 5th,2013. Upon registering the clerk upgraded me to their most expensive room( with a Jacuzzi) telling me that that was the only room available. the room was quite warm when i entered it and i noticed the air conditioner was on the lowest temp setting. After about an hour the room was getting warmer and I discovered the gas fireplace was on and giving off loads of heat. I called the desk and was told to turn the room thermostat to its lowest setting(which i did) half an hour went by and the fireplace was still giving off lots of heat..I called the desk again and this time was told to be patient. The air conditioner was blowing half warm air. The room temp got up over 25C. about 11pm the fridge started to make such a noise I had to shut it off..I could not use the tub for fear of making the room even more uncomfortable.I got up at 6am and went out to check the parking lot to find it about half full which meant the upgrade to this expensive room was just a scam. I called the head office a few days ago to voice my concerns and was told I would be called back..I have not heard from anyone. The employees there simply don`t care nor does the so called head office. the head office has no email address and answers the phone with just "hello" without identifying the business.
