I brought a motorcoach group in for a 2 night stay and would absolutely come back. Not only were the rooms clean and sustainable products being used, the location is within walking distance to a mall and lots of great restaurants. The staff were very caring and attentive. They would always greet us with a friendly smile as we were coming in or out of the lobby. One of my travelers left a bag in their room and Christine from Front Desk/Group Sales helped by not only facilitating its return, but also driving part way to Calgary where another driver was able to meet her and pick it up for the remainder of the journey. Both my guest and I were amazed by her going so far out of her way to help us. We'll definitely be back when staying in Red Deer.

This is our go-to hotel in Red Deer. It is close to Hwy 2. Rooms are spacious and big TV. Bathroom large and clean and bright. Fridge and coffee in the room. Most important is good quality bed that gives sound sleep. Hotel is clean and well maintained. Good selection of free breakfast and free parking.

It takes me quite a lot to give a 5-star rating to a hotel as I become pickier and pickier over time, but this one was absolutely perfect on every front. Check in took 1 minute, really nice lady at the counter! The hotel is on 2 floors only but it is huge and kind of a maze, easy to get lost on the 2nd floor haha. It gives it a charm, actually. The Gym was open and I could workout for an half hour, everything you need is there for weight lifting. The pool, although I didn't go, looks really nice and I had a view from my room. The room itself was fantastic. I had the king bed Jet Tub suite and it was the best room I've had in years! The jet tub worked great, the way the room was organized was perfect as well (I like the bed behind the sofa facing the tv, you can watch tv from both the bed and the sofa!), the room temperature was agreeable, the bed comfortable, and I had a fantastic, undisturbed sleep! No noise at all, sounded like I was the only guest on the whole floor!

I'll sure go back to this hotel everytime I sleep in red deer!

Traveled to Red Deer this past weekend and discovered our usual hotel had botched our reservation and did not have a pet friendly room for us. Called the HIExpress to find out the price for a pet friendly room including pet fees and while it was slightly more than our usual hotel, we decided to go ahead with it because we were so tired. They did not provide us with an itemized breakdown of our bill at check in but assured us the pre-auth amount was the grand total plus a $100 security deposit.
On check out their system was down and they said they'd email the receipt so we were shocked when our total bill was $200 than we were quoted at check in for our total. Our dogs were crated the entire time they were in the room and they were never left unattended so it couldnt be for damages and we confirmed our quoted price included pet fees three times before we checked in but now they're claiming the extra $200 is for pet fees - again?!
So basically we paid $50/night on top of their advertised rate on their website (and slightly more again than on Expedia/Hotels.com) PLUS an additional $50/night to have a pet friendly room. Sketchy business practices. Huge lack of disclosure. Steer clear.

My booking was for a two queen bed room. I booked it through the IHG website. Upon arrival they offered three of us a King bed and offered a "BUG' bed stored in the garbage room. They said my room booking was for a standard room based on availability. When I asked about where in the booking it shows, they don't have a response. When I contacted IHG, they always try to defend themselves. Myself and my family were kicked to the street. When I argued, finally their manager told us to go to another property in the north of the city. We had to drive back to the second location. They didn't compensate for the loss occurred. This building is very old and unsafe for people to stay (see the other reviews). While you take shower, you could see the condensation all over, wet ceiling which is about to break, no proper exhaust. Parking is terrible, unsafe. I still didn't get an answer to my question (Where it says while you book or after you book that the booking is made based on availability when the customer reach the hotel). The basic reason for us been kicked out of this place is- they got two bus full of school kids to stay in this place after our booking. This hotel discriminates people.

This hotel has got to be the worst place I’ve ever stayed at. They never disclosed the roof construction/ repair that started at 6:30 in the morning to at least 9:30 at night. When asking about the construction the staff fluffed us off. The “manager” called my spouse while we were attending a gathering IOT get more information from them. Because we weren’t happy.
The furniture had suspected love stains on them. We requested sheets to place over the furniture to use them.
The jacuzzi was broken and covered with a tiled piece of plywood.
We did not feel comfortable with the carpet so we left our shoes on.
Overall they don’t have a negative star review on this site for this place.
I would push through to either Edmonton or Calgary than stay at the red deer holiday inn express.

Stayed there a while back and had a great experience, were warm and welcoming to my pooch as well. Since there wasn't many people travelling due to covid when they saw the size of my dog they offered me an option of a bigger bed or two bed if I didn't like him in the same bed as me.
Thanks for being so accommodating.

We were very happy with our stay here. We were met by an amazing front desk clerk who made us feel very welcome and looked after. She had a problem with her computer but instead of making us wait she checked us in and gave us our room keys asking us to come back and swipe our card, which we did about half an hour later. Then she called us a few hours later just to ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything, I have never had that before!

Our room was very clean, the whole hotel is very clean, and well stocked, I thought the bed was too soft but we slept well. The shower was awesome, no low flow shower head there!!

We enjoyed the hot tub one night and it was very hot tub and exceptionally clean. The pool was also very nice, the entire area was very neat and tidy

The wifi was excellent, up to 60 mbps and very consistent, we had all 4 of our devices connected no problem

My only complaint would be that our room was too hot, it was -20 out but we had the thermostat turned all the way down and we were still very warm

We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others

The rooms are comfortable, well sized, and they have a modern feel. The hotel in general is clean and functional.

Breakfast was included, and it had a good selection of cold and hot foods. The premises are conveniently located across the street from a mall, so it is very easy to find shops and services around.

Overall the best hotel I have stayed at in Red Deer, I would absolutely look into staying at this hotel again.

We were visiting for our son's football program and decided to stay at this hotel. We thought the service was friendly (we were able to check in a couple hours early and check in was super fast), the beds were comfortable (they give you soft and firm pillows that are clearly indicated) and the complimentary breakfast had a good selection. However, the pool is small and it looked like there WAS a hot tub (that has been unfortunately covered over - after an intense day of football, our son was really hoping to soak in a hot tub) and there is absolutely no sound proofing. Even with the comfortable beds, we didn't get much sleep because we could hear every time someone opened (or SLAMMED) their doors, talked (or yelled, but this is not a reflection of the hotel - but on the inconsiderate people who are out and about at 2am) and whoever was above us and BANGING around at 430am. The pool and noise issues would not have us interested in returning unfortunately!
