Asked for quiet room and got 3rd floor end of hall by furthest elevator, which was great. It had a narrow balcony to overlook the atrium garden/swimming pool. The grandkids were glued to the balcony, checking frequenting, how many kids were in the pool. The pool/garden area was lovely with lots of seating for this grandma to watch them from. Plentiful towels at pool deck; not sure how the hotel laundry could keep up with those stacks of pool towels disappearing so quickly. The two Queens were both alot softer than what I am used to (super firm), but the iron and hair dryer in each room an asset for a pageant. TV worked fine although limited "free" channels (cheap grandma). Wifi worked great. What set apart this motel was their hot outstanding breakfast. I am celiac and they even fetched me 3 slices of gluten free bread to enjoy with my breakfast. The gals working in that area work VERY hard, keeping tables cleaned in-between guests. Having option of disposable cups/lids for coffee to take out was also nice. Toaster worked faster than many, although I did notice a bit of a line up there. All in all, a super place for events such as this, bustling with children of all ages.

The hotel's decor could use some updating, particularly flooring
Cleanliness was average - dusty taps, water drips on back of bathroom door
Expected better quality from a Wyndham hotel

The previous Red Deer Lodge had an elegant lobby and the overall hotel was above par. But this new version has taken the tower and converted it to apartments, and the very nice atrium and pool area is no longer viewable from anywhere except the rooms, not the lobby anymore. It's now a bit of a maze to get to the one elevator that serves the 50 ish rooms per floor. The free bagged breakfast had a joke of a scrambled egg wrap in it, the size of your thumb. The rooms are old and tired, veneer staring to peel off the interior doors. Our room had a mouse trap in it! First time ever for that! LoL. But the room was clean! all in all, the redeeming factors are the staff were among the most friendly we have experienced anywhere, and the price makes it very attractive to anyone attending an event at the Curling Club or the Hockey Arena.

I booked two nights at this hotel for a work trip and I did not stay the second night. I debated not staying the first night but decided I was probably being a snob but the longer I was in this room the worse it got.

Pulling into the parking lot it was immediately clear that the photos were not current. The lobby is nice. It’s clean and modern and well lit. The staff was friendly, quick and accommodating. Five stars to the staff.

From the lobby, you enter a pretty dark hallway and a maze to get to the elevator. Stepping off the elevator the flooring was absolutely filthy. Again, hallway carpeting, I’m probably just being a snob.

The room smelled like an old hotel room - you know the smell - but it smelled clean overall. And that’s where it ended. I did not use the bath/shower as it did not look hygienic. I wiped down the desk in the room because it looked liked it had a film on it. I also wiped down the chair as it was sticky…. I needed to work so I needed to utilize this space. The chair was set to the lowest position and could not be raised. There were mystery splatters on the wall, chipped furniture and walls, again, not a deal breaker. It was the hairs in the bathroom that ultimately made me checkout a day early. And the massive barking dogs in a room across from the elevator that started barking when the elevator opened or a person walked by the room. Instantaneous deal breaker.

The photos for this property are either very old or edited or taken in updated rooms m, one of which, I did not receive. It felt like a bait and switch.

The location was super convenient for my work event but the parking lot was sketchy and I was paranoid about my vehicle.

This is a very old and tired property. The tower, which is shown in the pictures on the hotel booking sites, is missing some of its roof and is being renovated as an apartment block. The restaurant has been closed. Hotel rooms are in the 3 story block to the right of the entrance. The hotel is done in 1970's looking dark woods and paint, making it look dingy. The rooms was also dark browns and olives. The grout on the washroom floor and the shower needs a good cleaning, as do the non-slip pads in the bathtub. The arrival of the elevator on the main floor is preceded by a great "whooshing" noise from an adjoining door, making one think it might be steam powered, but it is not. There is an interior courtyard, which has a pool that looked attractive, and was being used by families. The courtyard is filled with plastic plants and seating, but it wasn't clear that one could get a drink or a meal there, since there was no restaurant. A passable buffet breakfast was included. One day it was sausage rounds, scrambled eggs and French toast, made with plain white bread. Another day it was ham that was dried out by 7:30 a.m. , hard boiled eggs, and pancakes that tasted odd. Dry cereal, oatmeal, yoghurt, white bread for toast, apples, orange juice, coffee and tea were also available. I'm always puzzled by buffets that have an attractive bowl of fake fruit in the buffet area. The eating area was large enough to keep one's distance safely, although not everyone attending observed social distancing.
On the plus side, the hotel is centrally located, with easy access to walking trails.
Front desk staff were very pleasant. There was plenty of parking and, strangely, this hotel has an electric car charging station.
There are a lot of hotels in Red Deer. Even downtown, there are probably similarly priced options that are better maintained.

We enjoyed our recent 2 day (November 2023). The staff was helpful and friendly, room was clean and QUIET, breakfast had lots of choices. The bathroom faucets could be updated. The location was easy to find. A short walk to the downtown and park trail systems is another advantage of this location. The fact that the hotel was so quiet made it easy to manage our dog - no banging doors and loud noises that would cause her to bark and disturb others. The areas around the hotel were also clean - so i guess you have meticulous staff or well behaved dog clients!

I booked two night while my Mom was in Intensive Care at the Hospital, I needed somewhere is shower and nap as I was bedside 24 hours a day.
Quiet location requested when hospital booked reservation, the put me in a room by the pool, right near elevator.
Came back to nap and room was 25 degrees. Called Front Desk, Shannon came up, fiddled with system. I explained I had given up 2 hours with my Mom on her deathbed to shower and nap, I needed to sleep so Shannon brought up a fan. Less than 1 hour later I was awakened by maintenance to check the AC after being advised I was sleeping.

I brought concerns up with Manager Corey King in the morning who was rude, unapologetic and refused to do anything to accommodate.

Hotel was dirty, no breakfast vouchers given for second night, multiple issues with keycards, grounds were littered with cigarette butts and garbage everywhere.

Please save your money, it’s not worth it.

The rooms are filthy, bathroom shows it’s age and the bedding is very uncomfortable. For $10 more, you can stay at Holiday Inn Express, if you don’t care about WIFI or they must have fixed it by now.
The pictures on the website are false info. Exterior picture is apartments that are rented out. The 2 queen bed picture is not what you get. The window sills are so dirty. The rooms facing the pool get not natural light. You will need to use the indoor lights all through the day.

Marvelyn at the front desk was lovely! The breakfast buffet is always great! Room are a bit run down. They could definitely clean the windows and they need to fix up the front entrance because it looks like an abandoned building. I actually had to double check to see if it was the hotel the first time I arrived.

The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to accommodate those with mobility issues. The bride had a room with a sitting room and the room for the ceremony and reception were very nice as well. The included breakfast was great but the supper menu is limited and the restaurant is closed over lunch. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable.

There is a hot tub attached to the swimming pool but there are no seats so you can only stand in it. It is still very nice, and a nice atmosphere.
