I booked through Hotels.com. Ad said there was breakfast included. When we checked in I noticed that the kitchen was being torn out. The room was gross, the bathroom was dirty with mold on the ceiling and in the tub. Under the beds was very dirty. We asked at the front desk for a new room and also about breakfast. They were willing to do a different room but said "too bad" for breakfast as they had torn the kitchen out in September. I told him I would be calling Hotels.com to complain. Hotels.com refunded us the cost of breakfast for three days. I guess they took it off what they were paying to the hotel, because when I went back to the front desk to inquire about the room change again they were mad that I had called Hotels.com. Guy yelled at my wife and was very upset. They refused to change the room. Then to top it off my truck was broken into in the parking lot. Back glass smashed. Bad area of town, bad hotel. Its too bad because I had stayed here last year right after they had renovated and it was nice.They let it get run down really fast. Guess that's what happens when you don't maintain anything.

First of all, our stay here was alright, just really quirky. There were a number of odd things about this renovated hotel and our stay there. The first two we did complain about. 1. No breakfast despite our booking saying there was breakfast. I'm sure this is partly Hotels.com fault, but this overshadowed everything else about the place. 2. Door knob the wrong way round for the bathroom (you could look someone in) in on of our rooms. 3. Faucet in the bathroom somewhat underneath a ledge, so it's awkward to turn it on. 4.We booked two rooms with double beds. We arrived to find one studio room with a single double bed and one massive room with a whole living room and two double beds in a separate room. Not what we booked, but whatever. 5. Not clean outside the windows, see photo. 6. Lights hanging right outside the windows, so you definitely need to close the curtains. 7. Close the curtains with the heat on and perhaps you will start a fire. The curtains will be touching the heater, see photo. 8. There is no elevator, you have to walk up two flights of stairs to get to the third floor, but the stairs are not in the same spot and there are weird little alcoves that don't lead to the stairs, but are near the stairs on both the second and third floors. Yes, this hotel has a bit more work to be done I think. That's probably why it was so quiet, well except for when there seemed to be a party going on down the hall late at night.

We tried this hotel as the rate was good, especially as it was the near end of summer. The clerk was super friendly and other staff seemed very friendly also. Located close to amenities. The lobby looked good, newly refinished so hey let’s try it. We knew it was a renovated hotel and signage showed this also. One could tell they hotel and staff were trying very hard. We tried to negotiate a two bed room for the price of the one bed room with no luck. Surprising as the hotel was virtually empty! One would think they’d have given it. Hmmm. Anyway, the place was quiet, not sure if it was because we were the only ones on the floor & we were on the top floor. No ice machines anywhere we could find. No elevator so beware if you have mobility issues. Room was big and clean but very dark. Bed was comfy. Advertised with a microwave & fridge but neither were in the room. They did bring a small fridge on request. Coffee pot did not work, took a very long time to get any hot water. Continental breakfast was usual. Restaurant was not opened yet. The Lounge attached was not open either and really it may have made the hotel rooms too noisy. Glad it was closed really. Nutshell, nice hotel wanna be. Too bad as it looks like it has potential but just not there yet. Would I recommend or stay again, not sure. Would have to see what becomes of it with new owners & renovations completed.

When we booked this hotel we were excited that it was only $100/night and the photos looked amazing... Unfortunately, the photos were the best part. The hotel is an obvious "purchase and slap on some lipstick and rouge" deal. Our room had a section by the door that was mudded over and not repainted (or even sanded), chips in paint all over, the floor felt like it was buckling almost when walking on it, there was lots of dog hair (we realized later that it was a pet friendly place which we didnt BEFORE booking - our allergies did NOT like this), the bed was super creaky and extremely hard and uncomfortable. Unfortunately even the staff werent overly friendly so it didnt make up for anything. All in all I wouldnt stay here again unless major things were fixed up. $100 a night wasnt worth it.

I would like to say this hotel is now under new management now and is expecting customers to inform management about any inconvenience caused. Holding back the truth and facts and later writing bad reviews do not help when you are really suffering from allergies. So best to do is reach the Front desk and inform what you wrote here. Open and clear communication without hesitation is needed.

We stayed here one night while passing through to our final destination. The building across from us (an unused hotel building) was in extremely poor shape, with doors and windows busted. The windows in our room didn't lock, pretty dangerous considering it had street access. The water gets warm, but not hot, to a minimally acceptable level. We paid for 2 queens, but got doubles instead. The free breakfast is a joke, dont waste your time, its stale bread, muffins, and old cereal. Noise from the hall, and other nearby rooms could be heard as if they were in the our room. There must have been a fire in the building at some point as it was clearly visible that a rear exterior walkway and guardrail, that are still actively being used, were burnt. How the building is allowed to operate in this fashion is beyond me. The only good thing I can say is that neither bed in my room had bedbugs, and I tear beds apart to check every time. How this shows as a 4 star is beyond me. You are better off to pull over and sleep in your own car.
