We used the senior getaway package and had a room in the section that was kid and dog friendly. This west wing is older. The room was clean. The shower and toilet were separate from the sink area and had been updated at some point. There were robes for going to the hot pools hanging in the closet. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. There was a heating/air conditioning unit under the window. This was a noisy wing since it was kid and dog friendly. From inside our room we could here the dog across the hall barking and scratching at the door to get out. We could also hear a lot of kid noise. There was a larger than normal gap at the bottom of the door, which I blocked with a towel at night. The hallways in this wing were in serious need of painting at least. There was a large fireplace with seating near check-in. The food at the dinner buffet was average, not a huge selection. We had food credit to use, so we went there one evening. Otherwise, we feel it was over priced. There was another small eating venue/bar type area where you could order from a menu. We ate there one evening, which I preferred over the dinner buffet. There was a breakfast buffet which had standard breakfast fare, including an omelet station. Once again, I believe it was over priced for what you got. The food was all average. The hot springs were crowded on Sunday, but not so on Monday or Tuesday. There was a covered fire pit near the rectangular pool with plenty of chairs. That was nice and we used it a few times. There is a small hike that starts behind the pool area. It only takes 10 to 15 minutes. You can walk up and down past the shops along the lake. There is not a lot to do there in the winter season. Most things were closed when we were there, because it was off season. The days we were there were sunny and beautiful, but in the low 40's. Would we go again? No, we personally would not. Been there, done that, checked off our places to go list. Nothing there made us say, "We gotta come back here!" However, I am sure there are families that make this an annual thing during the summer months, because of the lake. I am sure it is beautiful then.

The natural beauty of the area and the bones of the resort are great, but the resort just absolutely fails to meet its potential. We continue to go because it's a great place to sit and read a book while the kids enjoy themselves, but after this last stay, a diehard fan like me may even stop going. It's so dated, dirty, bug infested, food and beer cans floating everywhere, no more liquor license to enjoy drinks at the pool, tepid water - the main outside pool is not nearly warm enough. We stayed two nights ago and waited 45 minutes to check-in and did not receive our room until 830pm. We had to eat dinner on the floor of the lobby, among many other families in the same situation. No staff came around and offered drinks or anything at all to help improve the situation. Harrison Hot Springs could be so amazing, but management is failing it completely.

My 2 adult children and I came for a night away from our husbands. Check in time 4. You can use pools but have to get towels from front desk. No where to put your clothing after you get changed. We paid an extra $25 for one additional person but robes and coffee supplies for 2 only. Not enough staff so no room service. Main dining room closed due to staffing issues. Hotel is run down which is a huge disappointment as the location is beautiful. Needs a deep clean, update and improved service. We have stayed before a couple times but not for 10 years. Nothing changed just worn out. Spoke with numerous disappointed people in the bug and leaf filled hot tubs. Everyone had the same complaints, many plan on never returning. Relaxation pool had people playing floating beer pong and screaming. This went on until 10:30 pm before security finally showed up to ask them to settle down. My only good comment is the location which nature provided. This will be my last stay here.

The water is warm only in the indoor pool. It says it's a quiet area, but the children continue to dive. I had to swim with bugs and leaves in the outdoor pool. And resort fee was not added to the room rate. I paid nearly 70 dollars more than I thought. I'm disappointed. I don't recommend it. The reason I gave you a star rating was because the restaurant on the first floor was satisfactory.

AVOID THIS PLACE!! We are currently staying here for our annual girls weekend and this has been the most horrible experience EVER. We arrived at 2pm and waited in line for 45 minutes to check-in early. We were told that someone would call us at 4pm when our room was ready. At 4:30 we went to the front desk to see if our room was ready, they said, “no, not yet. We’ll call you when it was ready”. NO ONE CALLED. We followed up three times. Someone was supposed let us know an ETA on when “housekeeping” done the room. NO ONE FOLLOWED UP. We sat on the floor in the lobby for hours. And we were not the only ones. There had to be at least 75 people in the lobby waiting. There were families with small kids waiting for hours. No explanation, no offer of a coffee or a drink, nothing. We left our bags with the bell desk so that we could make our dinner reservation. We had a lovely dinner at the Black Forest and when we got back at 9:00PM OUR ROOM WAS STILL NOT READY!!!! And again, we were not the only ones!!! There were at least 6 other groups still waiting for the rooms. Some with small children. 2 groups were leaving and cancelling their rooms. The front desk had no other explanation other than, “it’s housekeeping’s fault”. No, this was the fault of management. Once we finally got into our room, it was dated, not vacuumed, and something you would expect from a cheap motel not a $500+ a night hotel. We are still waiting to hear from management for an explanation as to how this could happen to multiple people. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.

This resort advertises itself as family friendly, but then has a list of rules a mile long at the pools, banning everything a child wants to do in a pool. I don't understand the point of having an adult pool and a family pool, if the rules are the same for both of them. There are four pools, and none of them allow kids to play. I realize kids jumping in the adult pool would be obnoxious, but I don't understand why they can't jump and play in the lap pool. I have never seen anyone swimming laps there in all the years we've been going to Harrison. We stayed in a family room in the older part of the hotel - which I love because there is a separate bedroom for the kids, so we can put them to bed and still stay up in the other room. There are two bedrooms, both with a door, and a small hallway with the bathroom - so plenty of privacy for each bedroom. The decor is very dated, and the carpet is absolutely ancient - but our room was very clean, and no musty smell at all. There is no AC, but the heating system works fine - unlike in the newer part where it cycles between AC and heat all night long. I find it odd that a resort with a focus on swimming doesn't have much in the way of places to hang swimsuits and towels, I always end up using hangers to rig something in the shower, so they don't drip on the floor.

We had an issue with the heating system in our room and the engineer was very kind to help set up a new room for us. The water in the pool was just lukewarm, but I guess that way guests can stay longer in the hot pools.

Stayed one night into an upgraded room. Thanks to the booking manager (Colton). The rooms were nice, clean and great. The staffs are very nice, friendly and helpful. But hopefully next time the copper room restaurant will be available for dining and bring back the afternoon tea. But overall was nice and relaxing.

The olde world charm and commitment to excellence in this lovely vibrant hot spring fed resort is what draws us back again and again . During these very trying times ( supply , essential employee dearth, pandemic economy ) , the management and available staff have managed to create a supreme taste of a fully functioning experience . While the glory of The Copper Room is not yet available , the ambience is. Many great staff still remain much as sweet and funny Ralph Bell Captain and Adrian the damned best mixologist and kindest person in Harrison . Front desk staff and newbie gentle Liane echoed her patient and affable predecessors perfectly . The great hall , Lakeside Cafe and especially The Islands Bar were pampered with new elegant , comfortable and prettily gilded sofas and chairs . This time we are staying in the spotlessly clean Executive Floor with adjoining rooms , immensely quiet and gorgeous lake views. Amenities are for sure less than before and slippers no longer provided with the robes. Towels are soft , thick and ample so always remember to bring flip flops as their are many outdoor and indoor mineral spring pools. The spa exudes luxury and decorated in BC West Coast style.
