Karen the old manager has retired. The new people are not the best operators. We have been here about 10 times. Our room had not had the heat put on. They did not come in and make the beds and check the towels. You have to make sure these guys do their job.

Across Columbia and a short distance East from the Hospital. Great value with hospital and seniors rates. Our room was nicely renovated and very clean. Comfortable Queen beds and a flat screen TV. The heat unit was quiet. I mention this because I have stayed in other places where the heating unit was really noisy. Not a lot of road noise. Kitchenette was a great feature with a long counter with stools under, a coffemaker and supplies, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, dishes, cutlery and a separate counter with kitchen sink. Karen, the on-site manager is very friendly and helpful. Just a great place to stay and we will definitely be back.

This is the best value motel in Kamloops. We had to travel for medical reasons to the hospital (2 blocks away). Perfect room - 2 Queens, fridge, micro and coffee service. As well there is small kitchenette with good counters, cupboards and dishes & cutlery. This area has a separate big kitchen sink and stools for sitting. Flat screen tv is mounted on wall so is easily visible when lying down. best of all - the rooms was spotless. Manager Karen is extremely nice and helpful. Housekeepers also very nice and accommodating. Price is perfect - we booked for 1 nite and stayed for 3 and will definatlly be staying there every time we go to Kamloops.

I had a horrible experience staying at the Fountain Motel and would like to warn others so that they will not have to deal with the same experience. Firstly, the room was extremely dirty (stains on the carpets, walls, and furniture), items were broken, and it reeked of secondhand smoke, despite the motel advertising that rooms are smoke-free. I found items that the previous tenant had left behind that clearly should have been cleaned up, including dirty pop bottles, utensils, and hygienic products. It is as if management only asked the cleaning service to replace towels and make up the bed, which isn't acceptable. The motel also appears to attract specific clientele that may make you question its safety. There were several instances where cursing and aggressive yelling could be heard either through the walls or just outside the rooms at various times of the day, including the middle of the night. Several of the tenants drink or smoke just outside their rooms. So while the rooms are "smoke-free", you may become engulfed in it when you are either entering or leaving the premises. In the evening, suspicious people loiter in the back alley and along the sides of the motel. I would advise everyone, particularly those with children to stay clear of this place. The wireless internet does not work well, especially during peak times of the day when others are also using it. I had to constantly leave the motel just to get internet access from coffee shops. While issues were brought to the attention of management, few were addressed. It felt like there was a clerk at the front desk less than half the time because they were running back and forth between Fountain Motel and the Howard Johnson next door (apparently the owner is the same for both). That is, it was often one clerk managing two locations, which is ridiculous. However, I did note that the staff were generally polite and tried to be helpful. One clerk, in particular, stood out (I do not recall his name, but he wore glasses and a blue dress shirt). I would suggest that they search for a new motel or hotel service job because it seems that management there is only taking advantage of them there when their skills can be utilized elsewhere. The only benefit this motel has is its location relative to the hospital, but there are so many more choices other than this one. It was a major mistake for me to stay here and I hope others don't make the same mistake.

Dear Guest We have been working very hard to locate your reservation in our system but haven't been able come up with any results. Your very long narrated review doesn't represent what we have to offer. Most of our guests are seniors and regulars and we have never had anybody pass on comments like yours. I am interested in discussing your stay with us and will appreciate if you contact us email or phone. Problem like leaving the hotel because of internet issue are non existent at our Fountain Motel. Our internet access point are located closer to every room and we have solid internet signal in each room. I look forward to hear back from you to discuss your stay. Thank your for your time.

Small family operated hotel. Very clean but the other business' that are ran out of this hotel in at least two of rooms left me a little worried about my safety. I thought that someone might come to room looking for a hooker.

The woman at the front desk was a nightmare to deal with. She wouldn't allow us to book a room over the phone, and when I asked to book it online she said she wouldn't accept the reservation. My husband was driving, and I was the one making the reservation with his credit card. Very bad business. I would never recommend staying somewhere that disrespects and talks down to their customers.

We stayed only for one night while passing through. I picked this motel based on TripAdvisor reviews. The room was very clean & tidy as expected. The queen beds were great & the TV was new. The bathroom was excellent....clean & modern. The price was right as well.

However, we found the place to be fairly noisy from other guests. There is not a lot of sound proofing in this old place. We could hear other guests talking outside, & later on, we could hear every footstep in the room above our heads. (Same people) They had a late night & early morning the next day. Perhaps the soundproofing may not be a problem if you encounter more considerate neighbours.

Also the mini fridge had no freezer door, so our ice packs did not refreeze. The mirror on the wall had been removed & was leaning against the wall behind the dresser. This looked recent & was probably being worked on. These are small things that I could easily overlook in a room of this price. I would probably stay there again,

This place also has WIFI which doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere. That is a plus for me.

We have stayed at Fountain Motel about 2 or 3 times. It was a recommendation from a business associate that stayed here for a number of weeks that told us about this place. The rates are great, and the lady running the place is very attentive. Clean rooms, good TV. It is a good basic motel. Why pay more?
