Detailed Reviews
We had a night here - like many others - as a break in our Rocky Mountaineer journey. Unlike some reviewers we found it a comfortable hotel, with a good sized room well equipped with comfortable beds, shower, fridge, coffee and water (the latter free from reception). We ate in the hotel bar/restaurant which had a quirky international menu. Food and drink were fine and reasonably priced. The main problem with the hotel is its location amidst a group of similar hotels and well away from independent restaurants or good places to walk. However, as someone who doesn’t sleep on moving trains, it was infinitely preferable to sleeping on the train! But in itself we found the hotel good and staff very helpful.

Booked this hotel with high hopes based on past reviews and the indoor pool looked super fun to my kids.
I would say the location is five star but that’s about all that will get that rating for me. There are plenty of other hotels in the exact area and should we stay in Kamloops again I would definitely choose another.
Everything in this hotel is fine, but nothing is great.
We actually had to switch to a different room immediately upon check-in due to splatter on the walls. My bare minimum expectation for a hotel is cleanliness and this was not a great start.
Front desk staff weren’t rude but definitely could use to be friendlier. Check in was a pain with a $100 charge that is released when you check out if you don’t trash the room I guess. Weird. Upon checkout no one even asked about how our stay was.
Was told when I called housekeeping for towels that I’d have a long wait due to lack of staff.
We also tried to get dinner at the restaurant on site, Romeo’s, which was a comedy of errors. Table was sticky and menus were not delivered to us so we ended up leaving and ordering takeout.
Kids loved the pool which is why we stayed.
If the price was about $100 cheaper I’d say it was good value for money but at $263 a night, I’d choose a Best Western instead.

We thought we checked into the Caribbean when we walked from the lobby to find our room - the internals were like being on a warm, sunny holiday with lots of water features, airy and light, lifting the mood! The pool was also on this level which seemed a little strange but, great for families.
Lovely staff, comfortable rooms and free parking, but disappointing we weren't able to sample the restaurant which was full.

We stayed here for one night as part of our Rocky Mountaineer train experience. Our hotel room was very dated and it felt like it needed a good deep clean, I felt quite ‘itchy’ in the bed and had two small bug bites on my leg the next morning ( the only insect bites I got the whole time I was in Canada and I got them indoors!) . The RM train was late getting into Kamloops so we arrived at the hotel at about 9.30pm. The RM had fed us an additional light dinner on the train so we didn’t need any further food in the hotel which was just as well as the hotel restaurant was firmly closed up for the night when we arrived.
The bathroom was also very dated and when I went to use the shower very early the next morning I discovered that the bath taps and the shower handle were falling off their fixings. The shower did work ok but those fixings shouldn’t be hanging off like that.
We were only here for a very short overnight stay before continuing on our RM journey ( picked up again at 7am the next day and had breakfast on the train so we didn’t eat at this hotel at all) . I’m surprised that RM use a hotel that is this dated for their overnight stops but I know there are only limited hotels at the location. This is not somewhere I’d be rushing back to stay at again.

The room was dark, musty and smelled like mildew - it was so disgusting that I really did not want to touch anything! I did speak to reception who sent someone to spray the room but it was a room that badly needed a deep clean, new carpets and a repaint. The receptionist offered to change rooms but given that our luggage was being picked up by the Rocky Mountaineer crew we felt that this would disrupt the system and we would never see our bag again.
The room is also dated - the bed was ok but I just could not get past the stench of the room.
It is also located in the middle of nowhere - and trying to get a piece of fresh fruit is impossible!

I stayed here 3 nights for a work conference. The room was clean but the HVAC was locked on AC and wouldn’t let me move it to auto or heat. The maintenance man came up and seemed nonchalant about it. The room was also facing the pool which made the room reek of chlorine. I was on the 3rd floor and some families were using the pool 6am and well past 10pm.
Also I noticed bites on my arms and legs, very itchy and was wondering if a dog was in the room prior with fleas. These rooms need to be thoroughly cleaned if pets are allowed. Perhaps ask if you require a ‘pet free’ room at check in? I didn’t book the room it was done for us. Regardless to say my arms and one leg have a lot of bites.
I did not use the restaurant but had a bad experience with it previously. We stopped at Romeo’s for appies and a drink. When we asked the greeter if they had nachos and/or wings his response was ‘if you want nachos, there is a 7/11 down the street. We walked out instantly and I would never give them my money with that attitude.
I would not pick this hotel to stay at personally. There are much better ones in Kamloops.

We stayed for two nights while visiting Kamloops and area. We travelled with our dog and while this hotel bills itself as “pet-friendly”, there is zero grass or even a patch of bare dirt anywhere around the hotel for a dog to do their business. Nothing. Nada. We had to walk way up the street to find a spot. Our hotel room on the first floor was so dark and depressing, we almost left after the first night. It also wasn’t cleaned well. There was hair left on the bathroom floor that was not ours and mold above the shower. The shower rod was also coming off the wall. When reserving, we could only get a two queen beds room and both beds in the room were definitely in need of new mattresses. We will never stay at this hotel again and in fact, this visit has made us rethink staying at any Coast hotel again. If this is the standard the Coast brand has set, they need to aim much higher.

I picked this hotel due to location. It was way overpriced for a rundown hotel. My room AC didn’t work and I had no hot water. After telling front desk maintenance came and checked it out and said they would get back to me. Hours later I still had no hot water so I called front desk again.
The manager came to my room, turned on my taps and let them run for a min or two and said “there, the hot water is working”. I go to check myself and the water was warmer but no where close to being hot. I bring this issue to the
manager and he doesn’t seem to care. He then told me they are sold out for the night as I asked if anyone else has hot water and if he could test rooms beside me. They offered to move me and all my stuff (this is around 8pm).
I told them I didn’t want to stay there (was suppose to stay 2 nights). They gave me a $50 credit on the room which I find insulting for not having air condition and hot water and so I checked myself out.
Do not recommend.

I did not really want to write a review as I was just here one night with a Rocky Mountaineer train trip, but what an awful hotel the Rocky Mountaineer team put their guests in.
From the moment you walk into the room, it is dark and clearly a dirty room that is many years past, needing a complete overhaul.
The timer used to run the bathroom fan makes so much noise in the actual room itself that it is impossible to use as it is just way too loud. Look at the video below to see (video attached).
There is mold on the bathroom wall, wallpaper clearly falling off the bathroom wall, and a bathroom fan that is impossibly dirty (see photo). How is this not cleaned, and why done the Rocky Mountaineer train folks put their guests here?
Dirt and falling baseboards in the main area of the room (see photo).
For the gym, you need to go to the gym, but can't actually get in the gym as the sign states you need to get a key for the gym at the front desk, on the opposite side of their hotel. Then, when you get to the gym at 5:05 am they share they will not open the gym till 6 am. When I shared my train to the bus had to leave at 6 am they simply stated that they had to follow the rules and would not open before that time. When I shared I just wanted to work out, they really did not care and shared that their rule would guide their effort here, not a guest who simply wanted to use the gym for a few minutes.
Then there were pizza boxes and plates at different doors throughout the evening. I checked in around 7pm and left at 6am and the empty pizza boxes and plates were in the hallway from 7 pm to 6 am.
So, since they will not allow anyone to work out at their gym in the morning, I am writing this note instead. Never should that have been an option for any guests, and certainly not one of Rocky Mountain's guests with the gold line service. There are many fine hotels in town, this one needs a complete and total overall for cleanliness, complete lack of upkeep, and terrible customer service.

We thought Coast hotels had good standards so we booked one night while passing through Kamloops. We asked to see the room first and the person at the desk asked why and I just said I want to make sure we will be comfortable, and from experience I will always do this. The lobby was uninviting as it was so dark and old. The room was the same, marked up furniture and in great need of upgrades. We unfortunately could not stay, we lost our money but I knew we would be uncomfortable. The fellow at the desk was very nice. I’m surprised Coast hotels let their hotels get so bad!

Best to call there to find out. It does seem like parking is limited, with it being a popular place. If they cannot accommodate your vehicle for that whole 5 days they will inform you of the best options. I personally would recommend the airport itself.
Have fun!
Don't Know if pets are allowed -. I certainly would not stay again . Dingy Hotel .
how late does the hot tub stay open? Is there a place there that stays open late for a drink? Thanks
Hi there, the hot tub and pool is open until 10 pm. There is a lounge in the hotel in Romeo's Kitchen + Spirits with a nice fireplace, and it stays open until at least 10 pm, later if they have enough demand and staff. As another writer noted there is On the Rocks pub across the street as well and then there is Cascades Casino up the road with bars (it stays open late, but their free hotel shuttle) Please Google search "On the Rocks Pub Kamloops" and "Cascades Casino Kamloops" for info on hours and the casino shuttle, Tripadvisor will not allow me to put links in my response to you.
Happy travels.
