Disgustingly filthy. Hated walking around in my bare feet! Didn’t have a shower because the bathroom was disgusting. I like a firm bed, but the mattresses are as hard as a rock…super low end and even springs poking out. Light on the patio is on 24/7 and shines around the curtains, so no way to blacken the room. Every surface looked like it needed a wipe. We used to stay here years ago and loved the little gem. I will never stay here again.

Booked the king suite with jetted tub for a night to break up a 10 hour drive home. Paid over $200 for the room because it was New Years Day. Room was disappointingly filthy. Leftover glow sticks around the tub, trimmed hair from a DIY haircut, pop can and pop bottle filled with cigarette butts on balcony, used ice machine bag stuck and frozen in the freezer, coffee-stained cups with leftover purple nail polish on one of the cups, gross-looking orange liquid around the tub (not stained, it wiped away with a tissue). Overall cleanliness of the suite was very sub-par and to be honest, disgusting. Will never stay here again.

This is my second time staying here. (The first time was great which is why I came back.) However, I am unspeakably disappointed this time. The room I was given at first was "non-smoking", but as soon as I walked in I was greeted by a very strong stench of second hand smoke. I'm asthmatic, so this is a problem. I asked for a different non-smoking room which was assigned cheerfully. At first I thought this room was ok, but after walking in farther than the doorway, I realized it was almost as smelly as the first room. I went to the desk again. While waiting to be helped, the customers in front of me were being charged a significantly higher price than advertized. Using their phone, the customers showed the agent the prices on the website. Finally, the agent capitulated and agreed to charge the price from the website. Also while waiting, I saw a sign posted on the plexiglass saying "Don't mind the bugs. They're just maple bugs and they're harmless." When I got back to my room, there were 2 black bugs crawling around on my bed. GROSS! Regarding changing my room, I'm out of luck; all the rooms are taken. So here I am, choking and wheezing. I drove 8 hours today and am not up to finding another place to stay.

Room Tip: The best rooms if you don't care about second hand smoke, are those facing the river.

Made a reservation on my trip. When I arrived they demanded a deposit of $100. for damages? I have traveled the world and never had to give a deposit of $100. They were looking at a husband and wife in their 70's. Hardly likely to cause this. I was refunded the money the nxt morning but told it would reappear in my account in 2-7 days! The room they gave us was unclean and had been used. I asked for refund and they insisted that was impossible since I had made a reservation. No pool or breakfast. Site desperately needs an update. Best advice , go elsewhere.

The good things about this place are location by the river, and the rooms appear to have been updated. However: the sink is directly inside to the right, where the door swings open. The concrete sidewalks around the building and on the way to stairs are terrible...rough, uneven, a tripping hazard. The exterior walls going up the outside stairs are filthy. What looks like former all-weather carpeting on vertical portions of the stairs is torn and dirty. Most of all, we (exhausted from a bad day of driving the previous day), left a suit bag containing about $700 worth of shirts and pants hanging in the closet cabinet. The day after we checked out, we discovered the mistake and called the hotel. When we explained the problem three or four times until the clerk figured out what our problem was, the 'sweet' young woman said she would check with Housekeeping. She took my number. No phone call that day. The second day, a different un-empowered 'sweet' woman on the desk said no note had been left and that housekeeping had not turned in anything. When pressed, she admitted that perhaps no one had actually checked. So the next day I called again and this time connected with a man who seemed to have some authority. He firmly promised he's check with housekeeping. I firmly asked that he actually go to our former room and check the closet. He promised to do that and call me back in 15 minutes. He did not. The next day I called, and was told the man was on a day off. The day after that, they told me the man did not actually work in the office, and that he was off somewhere else in BC, "checking on our other properties". I can conclude only two things: either the housekeeping staff stole the clothing and lied when asked, or the next day's guest stole them. If I managed that hotel, I would be humiliated by how the staff treated a guest, pretending to try to help, then not actually lifting a finger, and when confronted, not owning up to and apologizing for the guest's loss

Room - layout of family suite was good, but A/C in main room was not adequate for entire suite. Room was dirty with mold on walls and ceiling in bathroom. We asked for a quiet room, but our room was noisy as it was right off the main common patio space. Fridge in room had no freezer to freeze our ice packs so we had to purchase ice every day for our coolers. Pool / spa - nice area, but very dirty. Spider webs and bugs on the floor... Never cleaned during our stay and looked like it had not been cleaned in months. Service was poor - after our long drive we had to stand in a very long line to get our room. Had to come down to ask for toilet paper and coffee... As they give you the minimum amount... Again, a line. Service - after returning after a long day none of our keys worked. They programmed them for 1 day instead of 3-4 days. Again, we had to stand in line to get them re-programmed. Not happy. Tv (Shaw) - did not work for half our trip. Location - good. Near Riverside park and downtown. Located on the river, however.. The pictures show a dock. There is no dock or stairs or path down to the river. (Disappointing.) Deck / lawn - nice. BBQ's old and run down. Breakfast - not sure. Was never told there was a breakfast. We got sick at this hotel, probably due lack of cleaning standards. I would not recommend this hotel. I would not stay here again.

Our family booked a family suite through Expedia. This hotel is so sketchy and dirty we ended up not staying there and losing our money. The hotel tried to charge us more than our confirmed expedia amount. The hotel advertises an infinity pool; there is a dirty indoor pool that was absolutely disgusting. In the front lobby there is a sign with a picture of a bug. The sign says if you see these bugs in your room don't worry, they are harmless. OMG! There was broken windshield glass in the paring lot, obviously someone's car was broken into in the night and the broken glass was still there when we checked in at 3pm. The absolute divest of dives! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Used to love coming here! Was 'the place' we came to stay for 15 years. It wasn't modern but it was always a nice stay. Now it's unkept and dirty. Garbage laying around outdoors in common spaces (old carpet, other items) and the room was very dirty. Cobwebs, layers of dirt, I don't want to think about the sheets....

Disgusting. Filthly dirty full of hair in the sink, the toilet had poop smears still in the bowl, the bed was wrinkled & sheets had stains & the sofa was disgusting with stain smears & spill marks all over it was so so gross, I got itchy just looking. It wasn't even the room we booked, we booked a Queen with a river view & it was a ground level facing a bush with twin beds. The staff was rude they told us too bad they didn't have the room available they didn't care. Horrible management, staff don't care, disgusting!! run far far away

Kitchenette room on back (river view $200 a night) is a dump. Cracked sink, freezer extremely iced up, cracked bathroom door with no paint on the bottom ...I could go on. Dude at front desk says these rooms will be renovated in September. As I was complaining to front desk another guest came in to request a sheet change as the sheets in their bed had "some kind of skin in them" . Ugh! I have stayed at this inn several times but not for a few years. Has gone way down hill. And...no more breakfast.
