I booked the hotel last minute and was hesitant after I read the reviews, but for our purposes and needs, this hotel was very good, with my managed expectations. I knew there was no lobby bar or brand new decor, but for a solo parent with a very active child, we had everything we needed for a few days here. The rooms were well equipped, the bed comfortable and the air conditioning worked well, the small convenience store thrilled my son with a lot of fun candy options, there was a small fridge and microwave and the breakfast options were very budget friendly for a quick breakfast. My son (8) loved the arcade and quickly made friends in the pool, where we spent a ton of time. There was a small outdoor area that some people used to barbeque hotdogs for their soccer team. All the staff we encountered were lovely and helpful. In my view it is perfect affordable venue for young families. We will be back! My only complaint really is the covered parking needs a good cleaning, a power wash once in a while would make a big difference! Thanks for a great stay.

I had a one night stay booked at this hotel with breakfast included. Initially it was difficult to find as on a main road and the entrance to the car park was not clear, ended up parking around the corner and walking over for the information. Greeted by lovely reception staff who gave us the information about the room, pool etc. As the restaurant had short opening times we decided to eat in the town (which I went on to find was the best idea). Lovely comfortable large room with queen size beds (Canadian hotels do not have family rooms with twin beds), fridge available in the room and kettle. The pool was a large one so able to have a good swim with a separate hot tub, we found out late evening that they also have a BBQ for residents outside by the pool. The included breakfast was were the hotel let themselves down, the room was like a small cafe with no natural light and food doesn't even deserve one star, you could choose to pay for the breakfast if not included but I would not recommend, it was bland luke warm with little choice of drinks as out of stock.

We were assigned room 226. The window overlooks the back parking lot and the railway beyond. I imagine it might be noisy if trains were rumbling past but none did during our one night day.
Room is bright enough without a lot of light sources. The bathroom has a awkward door. In order to get in/out of the shower, the door needs to remain clsoed. The sink is a bit on the low side, lower than other hotels I've stayed at. The bed is firm, just the way I like it.
There is a room of arcade games, pool tables (both coin operated) and a seating area with board games (free). It's next to the pool room, which is next to the small gym (4 machines).

First, the good…. The staff is very polite and helpful. The rooms are nice and clean. Our view to the river was stunning. The lower price per room reflects that, while clean and functional, the rooms could use an update- especially the bathrooms. The BAD…. The food in the hotel is not good. In fact, our evening meal was the worse meal we’ve had in a long time. Nothing seemed fresh. My fish was over cooked and the seasonal vegetables tasted like they’d been previously frozen. The ribs were so full of girasol they were inedible. My husband got approximately a tablespoon of meat after spending 15 minutes trying to cut through the ribs. The kind waitress offered to make my husband another meal but why bother? The quality of the food wasn’t going to improve and we knew he would have to send a second meal back. So, we didn’t make a fuss. The morning buffet was disappointing. We’ve seen complimentary buffets with fresher /more appealing selections.Fortunately we inspected it beforehand and went elsewhere in Kamloops. Also, better snack options are needed in the canteen area as Halloween sized chips don’t cut it when you are hungry It’s too bad our dining experiences were so bad because this is a charming hotel. A solid 4 if you don’t plan to eat there.

Very good bed and able to accommodate us with a cot for our young son. Elevator, lobby, pool and games room all centrally located. There is a breakfast room available that opens at 6.30am and you order what you want to eat, pay, and eat as it is prepared very quickly. All facilities very clean and well kept. Parking was in the back lot of the hotel, some of it is covered but most is outside. Good brewery attached to the building. Very walkable location in downtown. Easy to walk to restaurants and attractions, and easy to drive and navigate to local attractions like Riverside Park. Excellent stay at the right price.

The Rocky Mountaineer Train had provided this accommodation during it's journey break halfway between Banff and Vancouver. So we ( me & my wife ) sort of stayed for the post afternoon hours and one night only. The room allotted to us was spacious with two Queen sized beds. The Room was clean and had a TV, Microwave Oven,Electric Kettle,Electric Press,Press Board & Coffee machine etc.For drinking Tap water was used . The Hotel boasts of a Swimming Pool,Theatre Room & Conference Room. The staff is courteous. We had a good sleep and were provided breakfast in the train so did not taste the Hotel's preparations.

Stayed one night as part of a tour group. Large room with a fridge, kettle, Hairdryer, Iron & Ironing board. Not enough power sockets in the room for the 21st century and no USB ports. The sockets they did have were quite inaccessible. I had to crawl around under the desk to get to them. Breakfast room was far too small for the amount of guests. There was a limited selection. I'm guessing our tour operator didn't pay enough to warrant a proper breakfast offering but having to eat & drink off of paper plates & cups using plastic cutlery? Come on!!!!! The jewel in the crown for the hotel has to be the Brew pub attached which had a great selection of beers etc and lovely food.

Like many we stayed here for one night as part of a 2 day trip on The Rocky Mountaineer, big shout out here to hotel housekeeping team as having so many one night stays doesn`t make life any easier. Our stay co-incided with a group of high school students staying as well, on the coach trip in we`d learnt that Kamloops has built up a reputation as `Tournament City` with lots of purpose built sports pitches and facilities to attract this market. Well done to the local city council and well done to the group of students staying in the rooms surrounding ours for going to bed at 11 and staying quiet.... We spent a pleasant few hours in The Noble Pig Brewhouse next door without realising it was part of the hotel, well done for creating such a destination pub There is a 99.99% chance that I will never return to Kamloops in my lifetime but if I did I`d stay here again

We had a one night stay on our way through to Calgary. The room was clean and spacious and the photos we had seen were a good representation. When we arrived, the staff were busy with a mountain of luggage from what we think was a train that arrived and we had to come back to check in, but the desk team were friendly and helpful. Try to get a room that does not face towards the rail tracks as the noise could be significant to light sleepers.

Stayed here three years ago and despite a renovation it was better before; carpet replaced with hard tiles ok for warm climate but Canada?? Bath not comfortable. Despite the website saying that breakfast is included, the desk clerk said it was not included but cost $10. He did give us vouchers saying the website is out of date!!
