We went to Kamloops to attend the 55+ Senior's Games. A friend booked the motel for the whole group and it turned out to be a mistake! We checked into the hotel on August 23rd, to room #211. There's heavy smoking and old carpet smell in the room so when we left the room on 24th morning I flipped the switch on for the ceiling fans, hoping it would reduce the smell. The fans ran with some noise. When we returned around 7pm, we were told by the person on night duty that one of the fans fell from ceiling and a charge HAD BEEN PLACED on my credit card to hold us responsible! The room was already tidied up by that time and I didn't even see the fan. I was only told that no one got hurt. It should have been me holding them responsible for failing to maintain their property! I talked to the superintendent next morning and explained the situation. I was assured then when we check out the charge will be reversed! No apologies were even offered! But it wasn't! The owner wanted to keep the charge, apparently hoping to sneak the cost on my credit cart statement since there were so many debits for the month for our travel even though they knew very well the charge would not stay should I choose to dispute!!! What a sham and so shameful! Avoid it if you can or demand a statement upon checking out!…
It was one night so our expectations are not high. The place is clean but only just. Rooms clean but in need of repair. Our bathroom door had a hole covered in packing tape. Curtains sdidnt have all their hooks. And more. Outside hallways (stairs only) are dirty and run down. It could be good but not kept up.
I would not recommend this place to anyone even if it were free!!! We got a jacuzzi suite for what was supposed to be a special night out which are few and far between for us and well everything that went wrong could have...No hot water, dirty sheets, dirty carpet, bad smell, dirty tub, dirty toilet seats....absolutely disgusted and shocked this place is open still! What a disgrace when we called to inform the front desk there was not hot water she was very rude, preoccupied, inconsiderate showed zero empathy or compassion for our disappointment offered us no discount gave us a key to another room to go shower in if we wanted. What a joke to say the least!!!!!!
Avoid this place, it appears to be a gathering place for the ‘ not so savoury”. Our assigned room was dirty with torn carpet and all. The bathroom looked OK, the entire place looks bad and should be torn down. Needless to say, we asked for our money back and left.
Decent room, Sept. 19, expensive compared to what was available, tons of cursing/swearing, loud music, bad behaviour on deck, vomit in the lot, nice view, line 20 Mbps+, kitchenette good, ac filter more disgusting than imaginable. 6/10 or less.
This is a quiet little place just off the highway and close to all sorts of convenient shopping. Room service was great! The morning breakfast room can get busy, so get there early! Maybe there will be a variety of guests from a variety of backgrounds... It was an eclectic stay!
Unbelievable. We were travelling with a young puppy, and the first thing I found was a live tick on the bathroom floor. The carpet was filthy and looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in months, walls dirty, linen stained, headboard fell off the wall when I leaned against it. I would not, under any circumstances, want my pet in that room. We left immediately. I would give it negative stars if possible, except that the staff member on duty, Deanna, was exceptional. She went out of her way to accommodate us, offering another room which was only marginally cleaner. I understand basic and no frills, but that's no excuse for poor maintenance and cleanliness.
We booked a night here as we were passing through Kamloops and thought it seemed a logical place to stop. Checking in was straight forward and the rooms were not expensive, albeit a little dated and tired. Nevertheless they were clean and we all got a decent night sleep and were able to shower the following morning. The included breakfast wasn't bad either, cereals and waffles, although the coffee was pretty disgusting. It's a fine place to stop for the night if passing through, however it is several kilometres from Kamloops centre.
I am a student at TRU and stayed here for the month of September. The hotel gave me an excellent long-term rate. The staff is super friendly, accommodating, and made me feel welcome during my stay. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, and as a student, I appreciated the kitchenette room! I will definitely stay here again!
Booked two rooms for 4 people and 5 people, nice staff, rooms ok clean towels provided, and a continental breakfast happy with our stay although the rooms bit smelly needed airing we tried out the local casino
