It was one night so our expectations are not high. The place is clean but only just. Rooms clean but in need of repair. Our bathroom door had a hole covered in packing tape. Curtains sdidnt have all their hooks. And more. Outside hallways (stairs only) are dirty and run down. It could be good but not kept up.

We booked a night here as we were passing through Kamloops and thought it seemed a logical place to stop. Checking in was straight forward and the rooms were not expensive, albeit a little dated and tired. Nevertheless they were clean and we all got a decent night sleep and were able to shower the following morning. The included breakfast wasn't bad either, cereals and waffles, although the coffee was pretty disgusting. It's a fine place to stop for the night if passing through, however it is several kilometres from Kamloops centre.

It's not a 5 star but it's pretty clean and comfortable and a great price.
I like the 3 single beds in a room for teams - nice for not having to share beds for a better sleep.
The smoking right outside the doors would be nice to get rid of as the smoke travels quickly into the nearest rooms. Solid little breakfast as well, good to have something to start the day with - and included in the price that is hard to beat.

Rated exceptional on Expedia..well, that was
a complete lie. Flea bag motel is more like it. Room 200
Room smelt terrible - smoke smell mixed with
air freshener and nasty cooking smells, floor
had stains - so much so kept our shoes on till the last minute and climbed into bed, wallpaper peeling, comforter
had burn marks in it. Then, finding out this
morning, the main door didn't actually close.
Even though the deadbolt was turned, nothing
latched, and the door was pulled right open
this morning without turning the handle down.
I thought about using a black light, but after
driving all day, I just needed sleep and hoped
for the best. We chose it for its proximity to the
hwy and ots exceptional rating on Expedia.
The only positive was that the bed was
comfortable, but I was not sure the last time
the fleece quilt or comforter got washed, so
I only slept with the top sheet. The door that
joined our room, did not go to the ground, and
there we towels shoved under the door. Gross, don't stay here!!

Stayed here recently because I was having an issue in my apartment with the smoke alarm making noise, I had to sleep in my car and needed a good nights sleep (so I booked here). The only good thing I can say is that the bed was clean and somewhat comfortable. The rest of it was awful. The room smelled like cigarette smoke and the curtains had old cigarette burns in them. BUT the absolute worst part was the shooting in the room above me at 2:30 AM. I didn’t sleep much at all, and it was extremely frightening (female, staying alone). I know it’s not the motel’s fault but they were not willing to help me in any way.

This is a quiet little place just off the highway and close to all sorts of convenient shopping. Room service was great! The morning breakfast room can get busy, so get there early! Maybe there will be a variety of guests from a variety of backgrounds... It was an eclectic stay!

Dirtiest hotel room I’ve ever seen. The filth on the heater, walls, floors etc was unbelievable. Mattresses are ancient as is bedding. Looked like it was normally rented by the hour. Absolutely disgusting. It looks like owners don’t even make any attempts to clean. Spend your money elsewhere

Avoid this place, it appears to be a gathering place for the ‘ not so savoury”. Our assigned room was dirty with torn carpet and all. The bathroom looked OK, the entire place looks bad and should be torn down. Needless to say, we asked for our money back and left.

Horrible room. Broken glass on the floor. The floor was absolutely filthy. 2 requests to speak with management were snubbed. Air conditioner looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. If you are looking for a place to stay, pay extra to stay somewhere else.

We booked the Alpine Motel as a cheap overnight stop in a 12 hour road trip. We were arrived about 8pm having been delayed by roadworks and stopping to watch bears play on the roadside. We were told that the Queen room we booked 10 months earlier was not available, that this occurred at all should have been a danger signal. We were told that we could have a room with 2 doubles for the same price or we could take advantage of that day's special of a Kingsize room with a jacuzzi for an extra $10. It seemed like a deal too goo to be true so we took it. It was too good to be true.

The room was large, clean and the bed was comfortable and the jacuzzi was lovely. The room had big picture windows facing east giving a good overview of a row of hotels, restaurants and freeways. All good or so we thought. i could live with the fact that the large flat screen TV did not work, the fact that there was only 1 tea bag in the complimentary coffee set and only 1 chair in the room. It was only 1 night and there was only 2 of us.

At 5am the rising sun lit the room like a searchlight and woke us both up, the curtains were totally inadequate and the room temperature started to rise. By 5.30 am the room was like a sauna. The wall mounted air conditioner started to work then cut out and wouldn't restart and the ducted system had no effect no matter what setting. It was unbearable without the door open, not the safest thing to do.

We went down to the complimentary breakfast. Three varieties of high sugar cereal and all bran, a choice of two breads for toasting, margarine, peanut past (butter) and strawberry jam (Jelly) and a choice of stale cake plus coffee and tea.

We then checked out and I reported the air conditioning fault. The clerk was condescending to the point of being offensive. Obviously I was an idiot and didn't know how to turn the air conditioner on. No apology or glimmer of sympathy.

I accept that for $92 CAD I shouldn't have expected much and I didn't. I just had not counted on a sauna to wake me up.

The motel advertises itself as simple and modest, it has much to be modest about.

Response from Sukhwinder S, General Manager at Alpine Motel Kamloops
Responded Jul 8, 2015
Dear sir, Thank you for your feed back. Your feedback is important to us in order to keep our services accurate. Due to an over booking situation by the booking engine, you were upgraded to a better Deluxe Suite with minimum additional charges. After you mentioned, we checked and the reason air conditioning didn't work was because the A/C was plugged into the wrong socket and the TV was working fine but unfortunately input selection was in incorrect mode. Had the front desk been notified about this, this minor error could have been corrected right on the spot or we move you to some other available room. We provide only a limited amount of supplies inside the room in order to reduce the wastage and the guest are free to ask the front desk for any additional supplies at free of cost. All the hotels in Aberdeen Area is at the top of the hill and sun rises very early during summer here so the bright natural light could have been avoided by the help of dark curtains in the room. Again, we are sorry to hear about your experience and our staff could help you to solve the problem if notified right away. Hope you will give us another chance to serve you in the future. Thanks

Alpine is conveniently just off the highway 3/4 of the way up the hill towards the Cocahala, which is great for travelers heading south to Vancouver. It is not real close to downtown Kamloops
