very dated, and unclean but the location is great and close to shopping and a variety of restaurants. The price is reasonable if you aren't too fussy. Very noisy and the management won't address noise complaints even when they are in this hotel.

Stayed here one nyt, one nyt too long. No towels in bathroom, air con unit not working, noisy as hell, skanky bathroom, fleas in the linen & carpet .... room cleaner didn't know we were there and just walked straight in.... this is the 9th econolodge I've stayed at in 5 weeks and the only one I've not liked. Gives econolodge a bad name.

The location of this place is quite good, close to shops which was handy as we were passing through on our way to Sun Peaks so needed supplies. Thats about the only positive comment I can make, even for a budget motel this place is ordinary. Rooms quality & cleanliness were below chains such as Super8 & Ramada. Also we had booked a room with a king size bed but only queens were available at check in.

I would recommend spending an extra $10-$20 and staying somewhere else.

We were not yet completely out of our cab when the owner of the motel came bursting out to tell us that we were not welcome! What? He didn't want us kind in his place! But, we have a reservation! He insisted that we were not welcome. His prejudice stemmed from seeing our big plastic bag which was used to protect my bicycling bags on the train. Instead of trying to soften his mood and explain, we opted to get another motel, which cost us $100 more, but one in which the reception was kind and welcoming.

Who is the prejudiced owner of this place? He must be taught a simple lesson in hospitality!

It was nice. I had a lovely view of the mountains. It was clean except for the odd hair. Beds freshly made, bathroom clean. Honestly, it was good for what I needed it to be - a clean place to sleep. I did find something a little strange left behind by a previous guest underneath my bed, but it was easily removed. the staff was very friendly and helpful after I missed my bus. Would recommend to someone needing a room for the night last minute, it was a decent experience.

We booked this as a cheap stopover on the way from the Rockies to Vancouver - big mistake. Kamloops itself has little to recommend it and the hotel was awful. The man on reception was very polite and friendly but that is the best that can be said. The room felt very grubby and we felt hesitant about sleeping in the bed. Sheets and towels were grey, worn and marked. It only cost us around $60 for the night but we would definitely spend the extra another time to sleep somewhere where we felt comfortable and weren't worried about the cleanliness. I suppose you get what you pay for. On a brighter note, the nearby Earl's was excellent for our evening meal - good meal and great service.

I suppose it is cheap by Kamloop standards but expect what you pay for. I survived in room 128 for a couple of nights. Although resonably clean the room stank like a stale ashtray, the decor was dirty and in need of a repaint, the bedding was best described as 'grubby', the security lock on the door had been ripped out, there was no plug for the sink and the shower only worked if one permanently held on to the bath/shower lever.
The wonderful indoor swimming pool advertised in the blurb and on the hotel exterior was free of any risk of drowning as it looked as though it had been empty for years. I have stayed in some downmarket hotels in my time but the owners of this one should seriously consider demolition or a thorough refurb. One good thng is it makes a Travellodge seem like a 5 star hotel for the same price. Sorry owners but you'll have to try harder or think about another vocation!

At 5:30 am, I was woken up with non-stop itching sensations and turned on to find 40-50 crawling black things on the sheet. I killed good 20-30 of them right on site, which left blood stains all over the sheet. After taking a quick shower, I told the hotel owner about it, who denied he knew anything about the problem, but upon seeing the massacre site on the bed sheets, he refunded my money back.

Except....I've developed allergic reactions and have gone to see the Urgent Care doctor twice and my regular doctor at home once. I've also had to spend extra money on medications, all of which resulted in fees that amounted to three times the hotel room fee. Not to mention it ruined my vacation.

Don't stay here. But, if you do and you do get an allergic reaction, there is an Urgent Care Walk-In Clinic across the street on the other side of the Canadian Super Store building.

My disabled son rented a room for two nights here. He was charged $75 per night and had to leave a $100 deposit. I note in a favorable review someone was charged only $51 a month earlier. The room was OK, although there was no microwave or coffee maker in a unit with a fridge and hotplate.
The second day was Halloween and a few of my son's friends came to get ready to go out for the evening. There was no drinking or partying going on in the unit. The owner phoned and later came to the unit complaining about extra people being there.
Everyone was gone except myself by 9:30 pm. My son returned by himself around midnight.
The following day we were late checking out, but at 12:30 I went to the office to check out. I asked for my son's deposit back. Right away he said we had a bunch of people staying in the unit. I said that was not true. He said he had to check the room and sent his wife to do so.
While I was waiting another tenant came in, also trying to get money back. They apparently had paid for three nights but he told them they had to leave after the first night. The customer wanted two nights money back and their deposit. The motel manager proceeded to call the police.
I am not sure how their story ended as the customers waited for the police in their vehicle.
The wife returned to say there was no damage in our unit. I then reiterated my request for my sons deposit back. He handed me $50 and said there was no need for bad feelings. I assured him there was bad feelings and that I consider him a thief.
I have no doubt that for $100 per night, Kamloops has much better to offer than what we received.
