Great beds, wonderful duvet, lots of pillows. The room was totally refurbished, very roomy and even had a mini balcony looking out over the city. There was a Nespresso machine in our room (thank goodness NOT Starbucks coffee) and a larger bar fridge. Unfortunately there is a VERY rundown property next door/behind the Vista Inn that should be torn down - try to look past it to the beautiful city and river view. The staff are wonderful and friendly and will take time to chat if that's what you like. Cleaning staff did a spotless job with spic n span bathroom - kudos to them - please remember to tip accordingly! The restaurant onsite was closed (Mon) but we went next door to the Kohinoor Indian restaurant as they were open for supper and we've eaten there before. We had enough left over for lunch next day (put away in the room fridge.)

There is a quick grab & go breakfast (granola bars, muffin, yogourt, fruit) which was sufficient for us. My husband had to be at the Kamloops hospital for surgery at 5:50 AM and the front desk was able to extend my checkout for an extra hour NC so I could get more sleep before going back to the hospital to sit in recovery with him. I really appreciated their consideration and coupled with the decent price for the room it will mean we likely will stay again next hospital visit as it is easy access from the hotel. The Hospital is just down the street on the same road.

Great newly renovated motel
Nice room, loved the modern and trendy pink touches - our room had a beautiful view of the valley and river in Kamloops. Staff were friendly - and pool was great feature to cool off in the evening.

AC was a bit noisy but a small price to pay for staying cool in the hot summer weather - just bring some earplugs.

Grab and go breakfast in lobby was simple but sufficient for getting a good start to your day and saves money when on the road!

Would stay again!

Everyone was so friendly, the room was freshly renovated and clean (no carpet!), the pool was well maintained and being steps from the little park and lookout was such a bonus! It was peaceful and convenient.
The location made trips to the store easy with so much variety.... big box grocery, a Cobbs bakery, a local meat shop and also quality restaurant next door.

We had to pay 100% of our costs up front, plus a $200 damage deposit - not typical but we had no choice. They did not get us the room we had reserved which was supposed to have a fridge and microwave so we were relocated to another room which only had a fridge. Also, there was no blow-dryer and the A/C wasn't connected (it was just installed). The worst part of our stay was when the charged us $79.45 to replace a couple bed sheets, face cloths and one hand towel because of stains they apparently could not get out. The photographs they provided were of the stains before laundering so they never provided proof the stains would not come out. In any case, the stains were very small and from some cooked fruit and make-up. never in my life of staying hotels have I ever been charged for stains in the linen or towels.
I would not recommend staying here.

I recently stayed at the Vista Inn in Kamloops, and I can't say enough about how wonderful this hotel is! The property is absolutely amazing, with a fun pool that's perfect for a relaxing dip or some family fun in the sun. Everything was impeccably clean, which added to the comfort of my stay. The location of the Vista Inn is also fantastic—conveniently situated close to all the attractions Kamloops has to offer. But what really sets this hotel apart is the staff. They go above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience, providing exceptional service that made my stay memorable. I highly recommend the Vista Inn to anyone visiting Kamloops. It's a fantastic choice whether you're traveling for business or leisure. You won't be disappointed!

Very reasonably priced and a good location. Clean, comfortable and spacious with a lovely view. I would recommend reserving a room on the upper floor as the sound proofing is not ideal - luckily those staying above us were reasonably quiet and it did not affect our stay.

When we got to the room we were very impressed with the reno's, the bed was comfortable,  everything clean and the view amazing!!

And then evening came along. The people above our room were quite noisy and my wife walked up to the office and mentioned the problem. The guy at the office said he would contact them if it didn't improve let him know and he would do something.

Things seemed to get better until after 11...by which time there was no one around to deal with the problem. By 3 in the morning I went to the office to complain and there was no one around. By 4.30 I called the front desk and got no response. They never did stop the racket until 5.30 or so.

When I went to the office at about 8 in the morning the girl on duty said she would talk to whoever was in charge. When I came back to check out she said the guy had said that he had told my wife that if she didn't come back by ten everything was ok?? He never said this to her and even so why would that make sense?? If they start making noise after 11 we've agreed that we're ok with it??????

Neither of us got any sleep and what was supposed to be a nice day visiting friends after our night there turned out to be miserable as we were tired, mad and upset!!

I can't quite believe that your front end response was basically "tough luck"! As someone who made my living in the service industry I am a little appalled.

I also wrote an email to the manager and never did get a response. Apparently she only answers "good" reviews!

We sincerely apologize for the disturbances you experienced during your stay at The Vista Inn. We understand that your initial impression of the room and the view was positive, but the noise issue you encountered in the evening was far from the experience we aim to provide. We will review our procedures to ensure that such situations are handled more effectively in the future. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we take it seriously. We aim to make improvements and learn from our mistakes. We apologize for any frustration you encountered, and we hope that you might consider giving us another opportunity to provide you with a more pleasant and restful stay in the future. Great location, clean rooms, comfortable brand new beds, air conditioning was great in 40degree weather, quiet hotel and great front desk service!
We stayed only the one night for a provincial soccer tournament and it was exactly what we needed at the end of a long exhausting day. The pool was just enough to get wet and cool off, they had an amazing little park area for eating outside and when it came time to go to bed, the room was cool and spacious.
No Carpet which made it perfect for a person with allergies, the beds were super comfortable, extra pillows and amazing shower pressure that stayed warm.

The best end to the day was the amazing view we had of the Thompson river from our balcony at Sunset.

If my travels ever take me into the interior or Kamloops as a destination, this would be my first choice for a hotel based on cleanliness, location, and price.

We had teammates staying at other major chain hotels, and their beds were substandard compared to these and we had an amazing sleep waking refreshed.
Great improvements, well done

We stayed at the Vista on the May long weekend, it was pretty awesome overall! The rooms were new and very bright. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on with the pillows and sheets very soft and perfectly chosen. The highlight was the view from the balcony, it was a view of the entire valley with the most amazing sunsets. Air conditioning worked very well and that is very important in sunny hot Kamloops so we had the best nights sleep. The front desk staff were quick and very organized which is always great after a long drive. We will be staying here anytime we are in Kamloops that is for sure.

Nice clean room with good views towards Thompson river. We asked for an upstairs room as far away from the street as possible and we were very happy with room 334. There is an Indian restaurant right next to the hotel, flavors of India with delicious authentic food. The only negative aspect: Forget about the breakfast that is included.

When did you recently remodel your rooms
Answer from Uri F
Hi Barry, Since I took over in April there have been non stop renovations and restorations going on. It is paramount to our newly installed service culture that the guest experience is an all that matters, and as such we are always replacing furniture, mattresses and appliances to help facilitate this. Currently I have 4 rooms closed off for renovations and/ or restorations even though it is the peak season. Thank you again Barry, I appreciate you taking the time to ask. Have a great day
