It is truly worth it to go here. It is on the outskirts of Kamloops but it is a scenic drive to get there and down a long path, with horses, goats and sheep lining fenced fields. The kentucky style hotel has a wrap around deck with chairs and tables. I highly recommend the river view. It is a peaceful location with unique decor that you wont find anywhere in the city. Our room had antique wallpaper and lamps, very comfortable bed with soft linens, well stocked hygenic supplies, keurig, kettle, microwave and fridge. The customer service is exceptional. No request is too small. We asked for the kettle and robes that were brand new and comfortable. They are up early cleaning and no detail is spared. They wipe walls and are on the ball for all cleaning. In fact, going over and above to keep the property spotless inside and out. Although the restaurant is closed they do provide a bag breakfast - juice, granola bar, fruit, yoghurt, fruit cup and muffin. They also have a gift shop with additional items. The customer service is excellent. Always friendly and greeting when you come and go. I highly recommend this place- special occasions, friend get together or even a staycation.…

Beautiful location about 20km outside of town. It looks like a Kentucky stud farm. Large, very nice comfortable room with communal balcony overlooking mountains. In my opinion the River view is better. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to lack of staff. The packed breakfast was tasty and adequate. The front desk recommended the golf course next door for our evening meal. It’s nice to see businesses supporting one another. The food at the club was varied and excellent, reservation required. The grounds around the hotel are well kept and make for a pleasant evening walk. I didn’t see a pool or gym, I don’t know they’re there. We loved it there

This restaurant is located at the bottom of stairs which are not well-lit. The food was served buffet style. The steak entre was delicious but served by the staff while side dishes were served buffet style. The vegetables and salad were empty before everyone was served. There did not seem to be anyone in charge of the staff. I could not recommend this based on inadequate food prepared when they were aware ofvthecsize of the party. Keep driving.

It sounds like you were part of an organized group like a bus tour. This is why you we eating in a meeting room on our lower banquet floor. The not well lit stairwell part concerned me and I confirmed the stairs are well lit. Now the food. I appreciate you said the quality was good. We supply meals based on agreements with the tour companies. Your meal was a buffet with a BBQ steak, chicken or trout protein. It is a buffet not an all you can eat banquet which some quests treat it like it is. We prepare enough for all the guests as if a plated meal then add additional for those extra hungry. The views are amazing from the inn. It's nice being outside of a city or town. Right now the restaurant is closed due to labour shortages. That info is posted on their website and when I phoned them to check the front desk hours, they were sure to make sure we knew that. With the restaurant closed, they provided bagged breakfast bags to get your day started, a thoughtful and appreciated touch. The Rivershore Golf Course is very close by for meals. We did not try this option on our one night stay. Pros: mattresses very comfortable for us (med firm to firm), night light in the bathroom, glass cups (instead of plastic), 1 luggage rack, 'eco' brand toiletries, hangers, bicycles to borrow, room was clean Cons: the inn could use a bit of a refresh, including the hallway to the rooms. We had a room with 2 queen beds. The bathroom fixtures (faucets, toilet paper holder) are updated, but the rest of the bathroom is older. The balcony is lovely and we ate our breakfast out there. However, there are no privacy screens between the space for each room. The wicker furniture outside is good quality. Tip: ask for an upper floor room, as you can hear guests walking above you…

We are working on finding a chef so we will be able to provide our guests with meal options. Repainting of the walls do get done every Winter while we are slow as well as updates to some of the rooms. Next time please ask for one that has been fully remodeled. Read the negative reviews of this place with a grain of salt, and even more importantly look at the owner’s responses to them (hilarious & credible). My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night for a little getaway and we were not disappointed. The hotel itself is like one you might see in a movie; dated in a good way with a beautiful style and a cozy feel. We stayed in a river view king room, the bathroom was super clean and well functioning, the bed was comfortable, and the blackout curtains were a huge bonus for a great nights sleep. The front desk agent who checked us in was very accommodating and took the time to explain to us the how the hotel worked and where we could eat around town. There are animals present on the property including horses, llamas, goats and sheep, just don’t expect a guided animal feeding tour, pick some weeds or some fruit and feed them yourself (it’s super fun). The pool and hot tub were clean and towels are readily available. The restaurant is currently closed to due staffing issues, however the golf course right next door offers well priced surf and turf (like chicken tenders). Being right on the bank of the river is incredibly scenic and there are lots of places to roam to for a sit down with a view. We loved this property and would absolutely stay again, and the “turtle crossing” signage on the drive in are adorable (see attached photos).…

Hi Matthew. Love your heading! I feel the same way. Thank you for calling me hilarious & credible. Phyllis, my wife says I make her laugh every day. Not sure how to take this sometimes. I think it is great you compared the Inn to one you may see in a movie. Our Housekeeping team does do such great work. Thank you for mentioning that. Glad you enjoyed the blackout curtains and the bed for a great night’s sleep. We don’t purchase our beds in bulk from regular hotel suppliers. Most are Sealy and they are comfortable. We have had guests tell us that they normally have trouble sleeping yet while here they slept the best ever. If I would not sleep there, I would not want my guest to. Customer service is so important and I am happy our Front Desk agent was so helpful. I am pleased you were able to partake in all the property has to offer and the turtle crossing sign is so cute. We have a pond with painted turtles who cross the driveway to our neighbors pond. Looking for girl turtles I think. This hotel is in a stunning location, the view from our room was simply breathtaking. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The staff on reception were very helpful and soon rectified a booking error and sorted another room for us. We could not work out how to turn the air con off so we pulled the plug out from the wall. You would need to drive to get anywhere for food as this hotel is very isolated - great for winding down. The taxis in the area are poor and few and far between. We did manage to get a taxi from the hotel to the wildlife park but this cost a fair amount as we got stuck at the train crossing for some time. We were unable to get a taxi back. We called numerous times over an hour and were told it was on its way. It never did arrive. Luckily a local kindly took us back. There is no food on offer in the hotel, they do offer a breakfast bag that consisted of a muffin and some fruit. We did have a meal at the golf course restaurant next door and this was very nice. The pool are is small but it was nice enough and offered beach towels. Thank you for a lovely relaxing stay.…

Our housekeeping team does such a great job in making sure our guest rooms are spotless. I am glad you found the front desk team very helpful and they were able to fix the error. The property is the perfect place to wind down and have lovely relaxing stay especially during a busy vacation. This is the first year our dining room was not open. We closed part time due to Covid then no success finding a new chef. Hopefully this will be rectified for next year Yes, the taxis are few and far between as we are out of the city. This lovely old fashion hotel is off the beaten path. At the bottom of some rolling mountains, beside a golf course and ranches in front of it. The restaurant was closed when we were there due to staffing problems so we had dinner at the golf course. Staff leaves the hotel at 9 pm approx. So there is a security code to get back in the hotel if you're out and about. There is also posted an emergency number. The staff was very friendly. You get a continental bagged breakfast to go. Wished we stayed longer so we could have played golf.

Exquisite location ! We chose a room that faced the river rather than mountain Picture perfect setting - river , mountains in the distance n trains in the distance Rooms were clean . Breakfast was a bag of juice , cup cake n cut fruit . Not impressive there
