A comfortable hotel in a big town. Our room overlooked the train line but the rooms are not well sound-proofed. The trains are long - very long! Well over a mile long so they take a long time to pass by. As soon as one has, not much later, another. So, not our best nights sleep. However the rooms were comfortable. Moxies restaurant was nice even though they messed up our booking. We wanted a booth and ended up at a less comfortable table. Only one night here after a 5 hour drive from Lake Louise. Never mind, we had a 7 hour drive when we left here... Just as well there is some nice scenery when you get back to the Rockies. A slightly bland hotel. With a better room, our experience would, I am sure, been better.

The Sandman Signature facing Riverside Park in Kamloops, is one of the nicer hotels in the city. From the moment you walk in the door it is obvious that staff take pride in first impressions, staff could be seen polishing floors and dusting furniture. Front desk staff were efficient and professional ensuring that I had everything needed for a pleasant stay. The hotel restaurant, Moxie’s was excellent and again service was efficient and the food excellent. It is worth noting that the hotel has train tracks running parallel (i.e. city view) so if the muted rumble of a train bothers you I would advise booking a room on the opposite side (i.e. park side). I thoroughly enjoyable stay!

We stayed for three nights in a room for a person with a physical challenge. The room was inadequate in its space for personal items. The bathroom was a good size but there was absolutely no place to put any toiletries, only a sink no counter space at all. The shower was a good size with easy access for a wheel chair but there was nothing to put your shampoo or other necessities on . No shelf nothing. The closet in the bedroom area was cramped and full with a safe and no space for hanging clothes. We were on the side that the train are on and you could you hear them, there was ear plugs provided and they did help. The hall and elevators were not clean. I realize that there is a problem finding help in the service industry regardless the lobby could have been swept at least once in three days. I’m greatly disappointed with cleanliness of the hotel.

So I have not stayed in kamloops in some time and probably pre-Covid when I staged a this hotel but I am quite surprised how badly this hotel has gone down hill and the post Covid cleaning seems to have disappeared! I’m less worried about having caught Covid here than what else I may have been exposed to
There is dirt, dust and lint everywhere. The bathroom light doesn’t work, the window is so filthy you can not see out of it. There was I I flushed toilet paper in the toilet when I got into the room and a bizarre damp smell that has dissipated over the stay as I have left the sliding door open.
The marks and dents around the place are rampant. The remote didn’t work and actually had no cover on the back and when I brought it up I was given a not that I have to make sure the batteries were all the way in.
In the stairs hallway vs using the elevator had a stack of room service dishes with mold growing and were present on check in And still there 3 days later. And it smells as left out food for longer than three days is know to have. Wallpaper is peeling in the room. And the tv has gross finger prints all over it.
When opened this place was off the hook but over time I started seeing the effects of time and wear that caused me to go to the delta hotel kamloops. And due to that being booked I thought I would come back and see. Very disappointing and the shark club seems to have dropped its standards even more than one could imagine.
I expected more based on the rate and the previous quality they once had here. I’ll never understand why managers and owners of hotels do a regular walk through, stay on the rooms to see what it’s like and what needs to be fixed. Not sure if the pictures do it justice but I rarely complain or bring up issues but thought I would share. Sad that Rocky Mountain Trains use this place as it’s not a great representation of Kamloops or Canada

The room smelled quite strongly of smoke and the couch was very worn/looked dirty. The jacuzzi tub was nice and the mattress and pillows were quite comfortable.
Just a note - we had the "city view" which actually meant trains were going by pretty much non-stop. The room had complimentary ear plugs placed by the bedside.

Stayed several nights for work. Convenient for sports or concerts at the Sandman Centre across the street. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean, spacious. But noisy hotel. Room doors slam closed, staff run loud vacuums in the hall in the morning and if housekeeping staff is cleaning room next door or above, you hear it. While other reviewers have complained about trains, what was intrusive was the constant blaring of thumpy music from the attached Shark Club's external speakers out over Lorne Street even when the club was closed - incredibly started up at 5 a.m., and again at 7 a.m. on a Sunday morning. If you are going to stay here and want to sleep, ask for a room both on the river/park side to shield you somewhat from train noise, and as far away from the Shark Club as you can get. Bring earplugs or noise cancelling headphones. Sliding closet door and a dresser drawer malfunctioned. Room card scanners in elevators not operational. View of park and river obscured by filthy window. Pull-out couch had seen better days.

Booked the hotel personally on the phone direct to the hotel. Confirmation was emailed to our address. The attraction is that it is adjacent to the Kamloops Blazer's hockey rink and the free parking. There is parking outside on the adjacent open area parking and in an underground parking. As far as we could see there were only two handicapped parking stalls which we needed. The entrance and lobby are strange. The outside doors are automatic and open on approach The interior doors, large and clumsy, need to be pulled to open. The lobby is dark and when we registered at 4:00 pm. there were two clerks on duty - one appeared to be working and one appeared to be socializing on her phone. It was difficult to communicate with the clerk speaking through a mask and behind a plastic partition. There is no breakfast served except a boxed breakfast delivered to your room for a fee. The room itself was tiny with no place to sit except one very wobbly office chair. The pillows were the size of small freezers and almost as hard. We might have ben able to obtain a thinner pillow if there were any left. Like I said - convenient pace to stay if you are going to a Kamloops Blazer hockey game. Not much else to recommend it.

Great location and great amenities in the hotel. Safe underground parking to park our motorcyclces for the night! There was some train noise as our rooms were on the city side. We were warned about this ahead of time and there were earplugs made available on the nightstand. If you want a quieter room, pay the extra $$$ for the park view

when we booked i had several discussions with the girl on the phone about the price of the room on the internet. it stated $169, but the girl on the phone disputed that and put me on hold several times to check. she said it was $214. anyhow she said the park side was booked solid and we might get an upgrade from the cityside which was bigger and had two queens and a couch. . when we got there she upgraded us to the park side...not sure what happened there. anyhoo the parkside room was very small with two queens and no chairs other than the desk chair. we had to sit on the bed to watch t.v.. in the morning there was a tour bus in front of the window so no view of the park. there was also no clock, bring your own...pool has been renovating for the last two years and the hot tub. The Coast Hotel has a beautiful atrium and the pool is open. we each got a $10 voucher for Moxies, make sure you give it to them when you arrive. we won't stay here again

We stayed here to be close to the riverside park (which is amazing for the family). The hotel is stylish. The room was comfortable although the bathroom could have been cleaner. We had a room facing the city which is near the train but they provide a sound machine and ear plugs. My children and I didn’t hear anything but my husband did briefly. They have a moxies and shark club attached to the hotel which was great. We got moxies to go and had a picnic at the park. It’s a good place for families to stay. We were disappointed that the pool was closed, especially when that was part of the reason we chose it. All in all it was a good stay.
