We stayed overnight at the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott in Kamloops to break a long drive from Canmore, back home to Vancouver Island.
Check-in was a breeze by the very helpful Yuyi, who was most amenable to our request for lightweight bedding, and gave us several options to choose from.
Having stayed in several hotels in the previous few days, the bed was without a doubt, the most comfortable we’d experienced, and the following morning’s breakfast was a very pleasant surprise; the usual cereals and pastries, together with scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages and the option to make our own waffles if we wished to. Even more impressive was the selection of gluten free items available.
Also impressive was the great air conditioning unit in our room, which was entirely controllable by us (as opposed to the hotel!) and was very quiet and efficient! In the current heatwave (and smoke) in the interior of BC, this was most welcome.
Plenty of parking and convenience corner market on site.
We left with full tummies, after a very comfortable night’s sleep! Impressive customer service and amenities.

We've stayed at this hotel a couple of times. The location offers a convenient on/off highway access and near fast food places, car wash, other services. There is plenty of parking at the property.
They have done a good job of offering full service even during COVID restrictions.
The rooms are fairly quiet and provide good guest temperature control.
The indoor pool was a big hit with our kids.
WiFi signal was strong and widely available around the property.

I’m very surprised that Fairfield Inn is only rated 2*. It is nicer than and offers more than many 3* hotels that we have stayed in.

The reception is very nice. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. We were upgraded to a suite because of my husband’s Marriott membership. The room was clean and well stocked with all the toiletries. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well. Even although it is on a major thoroughfare we did not hear noise from traffic. The room is also well soundproofed so we did not hear noises from other rooms.

A decent breakfast is served with a nice selection of cereals, pastries, bacon sausage, potatoes and cheese omelette. There is also a waffle iron and it made very good waffles.

It is in a good location with easy access to the freeway. Fairfield Inn is very good value for the money with nice friendly staff and parking and breakfast included.

we were in town for a family event. stayed here as we're starwood members. told by family that this hotel is only a year old. busy while we were there with families. good energy. we had a 1 bedroom suite which worked for us. lots of room. clean. 4 plastic cups weren't enough, i picked up paper cups from the eating area. we didn't use the pool. had breakfast both days, average free hotel breakfast. need more toasters. large light and airy room off the lobby for breakfast and lounging during the day. appreciated the washrooms on the main floor and the newspapers in the lobby. handy convenience food for snacks. good location as just off the highway and minutes away from aberdeen mall for our teen granddaughter. romeos just up the street. and went to a pub for lunch a block or 2 away. no view, across from a gas station and a busy road, no problem as not there for the view. worked for us.

Needed a place to break up the drive. Stayed here for one night. The entire hotel is very modern and clean. We booked a studio 2 queen, it was very spacious with 2 TVs! The bed was so comfy after a long drive! In fact we didn’t want to wake up, ended up checking out later than we had planned. The hotel had hand sanitizers in so many public areas! All the staffs and guest we encountered had masks on.
The breakfast is complementary, you choose items off a menu. The staffs at breakfast worked very hard. Not only did they had to take the orders, they had to sanitize and clean the tables, as due to covid guest couldn’t throw away their garbage. Gotta give a kudos to the breakfast staffs!
Even though purpose of our stay was an overnight stay to break up our drive. If We are ever in the Kamloops area for extended period we would definitely stay here again!

This was our allocated hotel on our overnight stop with the Rocky Mountaineer train, but I think we would have very happily chosen this for ourselves!
Modern and clean, our room was vast, with a separate lounge/work area, large comfortable bed with plenty of pillows, fridge, microwave and coffee make (but no kettle) and good storage for a few days if you needed it. The bathroom was large, with a shallow Bath under the very good shower (only overhead at about a 45 degree angle, but excellent pressure and temperature made it easy to use anyway). The provided toiletries were mostly in fixed refillable bottles on the wall - great to see less plastic waste. Lots of towels provided!
There was also a complimentary breakfast, the first we had seen during our Canada trip, although we were unable to use it due to eating on the train!

We stayed here based on Trip Advisor reviews, and were not disappointed. Out large king room was on the top floor facing east, and like the rest of the hotel, it felt very new. The decor was attractive and extended to the bathroom with its stylish tiling and massive walk-in shower. Breakfast was served to you on a tray, based on your choices from a laminated menu - even the bold coffee was good! The hotel was quiet, and felt very safe. We will be back if we have occasion to stay in Kamloops again.

The hotel was very modern and clean. The front desk clerk was friendly and efficient. The room was well appointed and the beds were comfortable.

Breakfast was included and had all of the necessary items and the person looking after breakfast area ensured everything was filled and maintained.

2 days before we were through Kamloops I checked hotels in the area and confirmed I could use Marriott points to secure 1 night reservation. The cost of the room has doubled since our last stay ad the if using points that has doubled as well. There were rooms available but they needed me to go online to confirm the booking using points. I tried but it would not allow me access to Kamloops and the front desk was unable and uninterested to assist OR contact Marriott on my behalf to help. Being a loyal and valued customer of Marriott with a few 100,000 points my needs should have taken priority over any "walkin" or "off the rack " customer. Ended up booking elsewhere and will reconsider continuing my relationship with Marriott. I spent ALOT of money with them to earn the point I can't use when I should be able to.

Great hotel that i believe has adapted to covid-19 times. They have provided a great alternative to the traditional breakfast option, have opened their pool and workout room while still maintaining good safety and hygiene protocols. Definitely recommend this hotel for anyone travelling now or in the future
