My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights in June on our way to see my parents. We were greeted very warmly by Emma at the front desk and all the COVID-19 procedures were explained to us. The room was spotless and we felt quite safe knowing they space out the rooms and sanitize thoroughly. The rest of the staff were super friendly and greeted us when they went by or when we needed extra towels. The hotel is boutique and unique. Fun atmosphere despite all the safety precautions in place. It’s located downtown across from City Park which is on the lake. We walked the boardwalk several times a day and ate out at all the great restaurants within blocks of the hotel. Definitely worth doing again and this time we will plan another 2 days on the other end of our trip up north. Thank you Zed Hotel for a fantastic experience!

Our experience started at check in, we asked that we are on a quiet side and the receptionist was exceptional she called the manager Emma and asked if she could recommend a room. Emma grabbed three keys and escorted my wife and I on a tour. She showed us three different rooms, all were very nice great locations and immaculately maintained by housekeeping. We settled for a room with a KS bed and we were pleasantly surprised when Emma asked the receptionist to honor the walk in rate, this rate was the lowest at this lake location. The staff here at this quirky little Boutique Hotel were all exceptional, the friendliest and most professional we have ever talked too on a weekend away. Highly recommend this Hotel.

Ok here are the positives: I appreciate and like the concept of revitalizing an old motel in funky bright colors, king-size bed in our room was comfortable, the location is great: downtown in walking distance to restaurants, a park with swimming, a small dog beach, the promenade for running, shopping etc..
The negatives: a really small room for two people plus a large dog with luggage; parking is tight; and, at least during peak season, the place is overpriced for what it is.Due to COVID we did not try the pool nor the top-floor outdoor lounge or other shared amenities.
If I were 20+ or staying only for a night and at half the price, I would stay there again. But if you are looking for a longer stay and need space for more than just sleeping, book somewhere else.

Thank you for your feedback Susanne, I am sorry to hear you didn't have the opportunity to use our fun amenities. Please keep in mind that July and August are Kelowna's highest season and the hotels are running on full steam and top rates. Our downtown lakefront location is unmatched in Kelowna (unless looking at luxury locations with a luxury price tag). I would love for you to give us another try in a different, perhaps a more spacious room type. Our shoulder season rates are much more affordable for our larger upgraded room types. We truly have something for everyone with ten different room options to choose from. I would love to help you find the perfect fit so don't hesitate to reach out if I can help at all. Kind regards, Emma

Kelowna Hotel Zed is located in the best spot, near city park, marina, and city center restaurants/shops.

It was like going back in time..... we asked our 19 & 17 year olds to use the in room retro rotary dial phone to call our mobiles. It took them 2 tries but got it figured out.

COVID procedures were very good, limiting amount a people into pool area via reservation and key card. Rooms were clean and retro decorated.

We would stay here again!

We stayed here for one night with our teenagers in late August. We would have loved to have stayed longer but the BC wildfires interfered with our original plans. Loved the online pre-check in. We were greeted by a super enthusiastic front desk person and our room was just what we needed. Loved the pool, hot tub and sauna. The boys used the ping pong room and we all had a massive laugh watching the kids try to figure out how to use the rotary phone!

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and were looking to stay in Kelowna. We quickly found that the hotel options were quite limited and the more upscale places were very expensive. We ended up booking hotel Zed and I am so happy that we did! I was a bit hesitant about staying in a motel and wasn’t sure if it was the best area of town but I was pleasantly surprised that I felt very comfortable here. The staff are all so friendly, happy to help, and wanted to ensure we had a great stay. We found the parking very tight even with a small car so it would be difficult for guests with trucks. The on-site pool and hot tub were very warm and a nice addition. The rooms aren’t the biggest but they were fine for 2 nights, had a comfortable bed and were clean. My only feedback for hotel zed would be to replace the bathroom doors and bathtubs - they were both very discoloured and took away from the rest of the room.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay with an amazing location this is it! BUT if you have difficulty sleeping with loud noises do not stay here. There is obviously no sound proofing between walls as we could hear everything our neighbors were saying all night long. The beds were also in serious need of being replaced, it felt like we were sleeping on a piece of plywood they are so hard. Both my fiancée and I woke up with extreme back pain and are still suffering from it a couple days later. There also was no hand soap in the bathroom (this is during Covid too!), it was not clean (hair on the walls and when I moved the lamp it was filthy). We also could barely fit our luggage in the room which isn’t a huge deal as we knew it would be small but both of us couldn’t open our bags at the same time it’s that small. I do NOT recommend this hotel. If you’re young and looking to party and don’t care about sleeping this is definitely your spot!

Hi Bethany, I think I may have responded to another review you had written on google as well. Again, I am unfortunately unable to see a reservation under your name to follow up on the issues you mentioned. I am so sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your visit and as well that you experienced some issues with the cleanliness of your room, that is unacceptable and I would love the opportunity to follow up. Are you able to reach out directly for us to assist further? Please do not hesitate to give us a call or email directly to the property so we can look into the issues you experienced and make this right! Kind regards, Emma

The staff were really great here. The first room we got stunk like a locker room so they moved us to a larger room and it was great. What they don't take into consideration is that putting a family with kids above a couple trying to get away without kids is a bad idea. We complained 4 times about the kid above us jumping on and off the bed until 11:30pm and started up again at 7:00am. The noise level is just bad. If you are looking for a quiet get away this is not the hotel. If you want to go party and don't care about noise or sleep then this is the place. I won't be coming back here, I am coming again in August and will stay elsewhere. On another note, the rooms are not cleaned to COVID standards. The bunk beds in our room had dust all over the steps so It was a good thing we never had to use them. We got into out room and had no soap...no soap during this time is a no no, I gave it 2 stars because the staff were very nice and kind, the two girls were great. But this is not the place for me. My advice is to take the time and put the families on the lower level.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, I am so sorry to hear that the neighbor's children disturbed you during your relaxing visit. Please rest assured that all of our rooms are cleaned and sanitized thoroughly between guests, and some are left for up to 72 hours before a new guest. Currently, we only have the basic items in the room, soap, conditioner, and shampoo can be found in our shower dispensers, as well as hand soap bar on the sink. Our sincere apologies if the bar soap on your sink was missed by our room attendant prior to your check-in, this is not our usual practice. Our 24-hour front desk rebels always happy to bring along whatever else you may need right away or follow up with any issues of noise immediately. We're very sorry to hear we missed the mark on your visit and we were perhaps not the right fit, maybe on your next stay in Kelowna you would be more comfortable at our cousin property, Accent Inns? Please feel free to reach out directly and I will see what we can do to make it up to you!

A fun, bright and quirky place to stay. We (2 teens and one adult) shared a bunk-bed room which offered us all plenty of space. The kids loved all the cool touches like the roller skates and vinyls in the reception area, and I couldn’t get enough of the gorgeous roof terrace. We didn’t try out the pool but it looked very small - there didn’t seem to be space for more than one family at a time.
It was a bit pricey and I’d have hoped the room to feel a bit more bright and colourful. It still felt a bit dark and corporate despite all the fun touches like comic books and stickers. Nonetheless, we had a great time and would stay there again if we got a good rate!

This is a renovated to be retro-chic motel. They have done a great job giving it a cool makeover and making it inviting. The location is perfect, 30 second walk to the pier, restaurants and patios, etc. If you go the other way, there is a mission and some other homeless resources, but it was totally fine, everyone we encountered was friendly. The cons are definitely the parking being so tight you can't get your things out of your car without pulling out. Also, there are no dressers and very few hangers, no coffee makers, etc. Minimal supplies, and no housekeeping due to covid. We had to go down to get towels, toilet paper, etc. several times, including when we checked in, we didn't even have a roll of toilet paper in the room. The pool was never full so it was easy to book a time slot. It was small and very warm, but again, no pool towels, etc. The smoking decks and lounging decks were a nice touch, and we got to meet some people staying in the hotel. Everyone was laid back and a great time. I'd stay again with friends or for a short stay, guests and staff seemed great and you really can't beat the location. We ended up changing plans and leaving a day early and there was no issue with refunding the last night. Very accomodating and friendly.

Thank you so much for your feedback CanuckD35, we are so glad to hear you enjoyed the location and our team of Rebels made a good impression on you! I am so sorry to hear that the supplies in your room were more minimal than expected but hope that our guest services team was able to deliver everything you needed and provide pool towels along with the pool key at the front desk. Our goal is to minimize the number of wasted products in the rooms, as we can't reuse things in our current environment (as I am sure you're likely aware). I hope we get the opportunity to welcome you back and make this a 5/5 stay on your next visit, perhaps in one of our larger room types on your next stay? Kind regards, Emma
