Stunning hotel, awesome accommodation and the views/location can not be beat. We stayed here the last 2 nights on our trip to Canada from Australia. Not knowing the area well, I am glad we picked this hotel. I could not believe the size and quality of our room, but above all else the view was outstanding. We were able to walk to shops and restaurants, as well as a long the Waterfront Promenade. I had originally booked a 1 bedroom suite, but got a great deal on a 2 bedroom suite with den (Room 256) on the Black Friday sales. The master bathroom was massive, the 2nd bedroom had an ensuite and there was an additional toilet in the hallway. The den was actually set up as a 3rd bedroom. The only bedroom with views was the master. The hotel is secure and paid parking is available on site. Laundry facilities are provided in the room. Loved the indoor/outdoor pool area. Would highly recommend.

We stayed at the Royal Kelowna for a long weekend November 7th - 10th. After reading some of the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. Everything was great! The 3 bedroom suite was spacious, beds were comfortable, kitchen and bathrooms were very clean and well equipped, and the view of the lake and mountains were amazing.
We took advantage of the BBQ's on the top floor for supper 2 evenings. This was a nice feature. The staff were all extremely helpful and went above when I needed something printed. I would stay here again based on the great location, comfort of the suites and extra amenities (pool, BBQ's, etc.).
A few of our exertions worth noting were Mission Hill for wine tasting, Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery for lunch and tasting, Tality Forest Spa, Sprout Bread, and the Apex trail at Knox Mountain. Can't wait to go back!

Our room, a 2 bedroom suite that turned out to include a third bedroom, was probably larger than our apartment in New York City! It offered some beautiful views of the lake and waterfront promenade, as did the hot tub and the heated pool on the roof. Comfortable beds, full kitchen, fast wifi. I have only 2 complaints: parking is overpriced (24 CAD/day), and the free shuttle from the airport stops running before the last plane arrives.

Our stay at this establishment was deeply unsatisfactory. The property appears to be part condominium and part hotel, meaning the management and upkeep are likely overseen by a board, which may explain the outdated facilities and lack of proper maintenance. However, this does not excuse the deplorable condition of the hotel. Each room felt like a mismatched collection of old, worn-down furnishings, giving the impression of a poorly run and neglected property. I’ve attached an image that illustrates just how dated the building is.

We were traveling with a service dog and, as responsible travelers, made sure to call ahead to confirm their pet policy. Despite our proactive approach, including offering to send all necessary paperwork in advance, we were reassured that everything would be fine and that no paperwork was required. Frustratingly, there was no email contact available to send documents, even if we had wanted to (and as frequent travelers, we prefer to keep a paper trail).

As residents of Ontario, we are well-versed in Canadian regulations regarding service dogs, which are protected under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This is not an emotional support animal; it’s a fully certified service dog. Denying access to a service dog for someone with a disability is a serious legal violation. To illustrate: Can you imagine denying access to a blind individual or a war veteran with PTSD because of their service animal? Sadly, that’s exactly what happened to us.

The front desk attendant (an older British woman) incorrectly insisted that we needed a GDSDA card, which is not a legal requirement. I’ve included a picture of the relevant section of the BC Human Rights Code that clearly outlines the law. Unfortunately, this encounter triggered a significant emotional episode for the individual relying on the service dog for cognitive issues. Instead of offering assistance, the attendant merely smiled and said, "Nothing I can do."

Thankfully, the Delta Hotel next door provided exemplary service, immediately accommodating us without issue. I highly recommend considering that hotel over this one, as their professionalism far surpasses this establishment.

To add insult to injury, our party was part of a larger wedding group, bringing substantial business to the hotel. Despite this, several of our guests were invoiced incorrectly, with charges nearly three times higher than initially quoted. This lack of attention to detail and professionalism is alarming. I strongly advise future guests to thoroughly review their invoices.

The most frustrating part? Three days later, when we returned for another portion of our trip, a different front desk employee had no issue accommodating our service dog. The inconsistency in service and understanding of the law is unacceptable.

We are currently consulting with our lawyers in BC to pursue a discrimination claim against the hotel. This experience was not only frustrating but also deeply discriminatory, and we will be taking further action.

Dear Alexander, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand that your experience did not meet your expectations, and we would like to clarify a few important points to avoid any misunderstandings. Our property operates under strict policies, and as part of the building's strata rules, we can only accommodate registered service animals. Emotional support animals, while important, do not qualify under this policy. When you initially checked in, our team followed the standard procedure by requesting the appropriate certification for a registered service animal, which is different from a doctor's note. Unfortunately, we were unable to accommodate your request at that time based on the documentation provided. It appears there was an error when you returned a few days later, and the individual at the front desk, who was new, mistakenly allowed entry. This was an isolated oversight, it does not reflect our standard procedure, and we have since reinforced the policy with our team to avoid future issues. Regarding your billing concerns, there was no double charge. The amount you saw was a temporary hold, which is standard practice, and it has been released accordingly. Your final charge reflects what was agreed upon at the time of your reservation. We appreciate your understanding of our policies and wish you all the best in your future travels. Best regards, Sonali Guest Services Manager

The sofa bed in room 451 was in terrible condition, causing my husband sleepless nights throughout our stay. The mattress springs were exposed, it squeaked with every movement, and the mattress itself was soggy. This is a 1-star experience! Additionally, we paid for parking for all four nights, but one evening there was no parking available. The hotel offered a one-day parking refund and referred us to Delta at 10 PM. Eventually, they allowed us to park overnight in the loading spot due to our early checkout the next morning. All the bathrobes we received were very old, some even had holes! There were also no towels in the pool area. The hotel is way too pricey for what they offer.

Dear Natalia, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay. Your comments about the sofa bed, parking, and bathrobes have been noted, and we are addressing these issues with our team to ensure they are resolved promptly. Regarding the sofa bed in room 451, we regret any discomfort caused. Please note, that the sofa bed is an additional amenity in the living room, with a queen bed available in the room for sleeping purposes. We have since replaced the sofa bed, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Had we been notified during your stay, we could have addressed this matter promptly. Regarding the pool towels, they are typically kept in the rooms, which is why there weren't any available at the pool deck. We regret any confusion this may have caused and will work on improving our communication. We value your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a more enjoyable experience in the future. Best regards, Sonali Guest Services Manager

We were due to stay at the hotel on Aug 18–19 which sadly coincided with the wildfire in West Kelowna. We had a non cancellable room but the hotel allowed us to cancel and fully refunded our costs within days without any argument which was much appreciated. Hopefully we will get the opportunity to stay at the property another time as I was very impresssed with their customer service.

I visited The Royal Kelowna in September (shoulder season) with girlfriends. We had a large suite with 3 bedrooms and a den. Everything was immaculate, luxurious and well appointed.
Service was excellent.
The pool, hot tub, and exercise room all over look the lake. The pool area is beautiful. Because it was shoulder season, it was quiet and there were not many people in the pool area.
The location is close to down town, so you can walk to many restaurants and along the lake.

Checked in mid-week and obviously had the “b” team as our checkin experience was subpar. Front desk agent didn’t have time for our questions/didn’t speak clearly for us to get adequate information (including explaining where our parking was - ended up finding a valet casino employee to redirect us after searching for 15 minutes for our spot).

When we returned to ask a simple question the desk responded with “the information is on the sheet you received at checkin” instead of just a simple reply.

Staff over the weekend were much friendlier and acknowledged guests when walking by with a greeting. The weekday team turned away and ignored guests throughout our stay. Pretty disappointed with the quality of service.

I called about checking to see if they could search for an item I left behind and the woman wouldn’t listen to my explanation of the item over the phone. She also said I’d receive a call back and no one has yet to call. It’s been nearing a week... sadly it was the same woman we had check us in so I didn’t expect much.

Hotel itself is nice enough but definitely think noise could be a problem during full capacity and if your room is located near the opposite side of the building.

Wouldn’t waste our money staying again as we were charged a large surprise fee at checkout and we’re required to pay for parking. Not recommended for the money you pay to stay here, save yourself from the condescending staff attitude and extra fees by staying elsewhere.

I am not sure what makes a hotel a hotel, but as an experienced traveler, this is not a hotel. More like you have a condo with a subpar management team on site. Condo was clean and comfy, though could use some updating. Kitchen was well stocked. Great if you plan to cook and or stay awhile. Only 2 bottles of water on check in. I get that the rooms have kitchens with coffee makers but I am on vacation, coffee in lobby in mornings would be nice. They are not offering house cleaning, due to covid, Covid is over, get back to normal. Especially if you are charging what you charge along with fees. Front desk staffs knowledge on area and amenities provided varied. Great location just not what we expected for a "hotel".

Dear Natalee, Thank you for staying with The Royal Kelowna! On behalf of our team I apologies that you didn't have a great experience staying with us. Our property is just like any hotel, the only difference being, we don't have a restaurant on site. I'm sorry that we don't serve coffee in our lobby. Their are plenty of coffee shops with-in short walking distance of the hotel. We have unfortunately, been unable to resume stay service do to staff shortage. However, we make it clear that if guest are staying more then one night, and need anything during their stay they are more then welcome to call or speak with us and we can make arrangements according to there needs. My family & I enjoyed our stay here with the 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, the kitchen, living room & the patio looking out to the lake. We absolutely loved the friendly staff who let us check-in earlier since we needed a place to change into our swim suits for a boat ride on to the lake. The pool area is absolutely breathtaking with that lake view in the background. We spent far longer in the quiet and cozy outdoor hot tub. They also have extra indoor hot tubs in the pool area. Also, it is located in such a perfect area right next to the Delta Marriott which makes quite a few activities convenient.

The Private Residence Club is only steps away from the hotel and conference centre. However I’m not sure if you can book the PRC unless you are an owner there.
