We took advantage of the BBQ's on the top floor for supper 2 evenings. This was a nice feature. The staff were all extremely helpful and went above when I needed something printed. I would stay here again based on the great location, comfort of the suites and extra amenities (pool, BBQ's, etc.).
A few of our exertions worth noting were Mission Hill for wine tasting, Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery for lunch and tasting, Tality Forest Spa, Sprout Bread, and the Apex trail at Knox Mountain. Can't wait to go back!
We were traveling with a service dog and, as responsible travelers, made sure to call ahead to confirm their pet policy. Despite our proactive approach, including offering to send all necessary paperwork in advance, we were reassured that everything would be fine and that no paperwork was required. Frustratingly, there was no email contact available to send documents, even if we had wanted to (and as frequent travelers, we prefer to keep a paper trail).
As residents of Ontario, we are well-versed in Canadian regulations regarding service dogs, which are protected under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This is not an emotional support animal; it’s a fully certified service dog. Denying access to a service dog for someone with a disability is a serious legal violation. To illustrate: Can you imagine denying access to a blind individual or a war veteran with PTSD because of their service animal? Sadly, that’s exactly what happened to us.
The front desk attendant (an older British woman) incorrectly insisted that we needed a GDSDA card, which is not a legal requirement. I’ve included a picture of the relevant section of the BC Human Rights Code that clearly outlines the law. Unfortunately, this encounter triggered a significant emotional episode for the individual relying on the service dog for cognitive issues. Instead of offering assistance, the attendant merely smiled and said, "Nothing I can do."
Thankfully, the Delta Hotel next door provided exemplary service, immediately accommodating us without issue. I highly recommend considering that hotel over this one, as their professionalism far surpasses this establishment.
To add insult to injury, our party was part of a larger wedding group, bringing substantial business to the hotel. Despite this, several of our guests were invoiced incorrectly, with charges nearly three times higher than initially quoted. This lack of attention to detail and professionalism is alarming. I strongly advise future guests to thoroughly review their invoices.
The most frustrating part? Three days later, when we returned for another portion of our trip, a different front desk employee had no issue accommodating our service dog. The inconsistency in service and understanding of the law is unacceptable.
We are currently consulting with our lawyers in BC to pursue a discrimination claim against the hotel. This experience was not only frustrating but also deeply discriminatory, and we will be taking further action.

Service was excellent.
The pool, hot tub, and exercise room all over look the lake. The pool area is beautiful. Because it was shoulder season, it was quiet and there were not many people in the pool area.
The location is close to down town, so you can walk to many restaurants and along the lake.
When we returned to ask a simple question the desk responded with “the information is on the sheet you received at checkin” instead of just a simple reply.
Staff over the weekend were much friendlier and acknowledged guests when walking by with a greeting. The weekday team turned away and ignored guests throughout our stay. Pretty disappointed with the quality of service.
I called about checking to see if they could search for an item I left behind and the woman wouldn’t listen to my explanation of the item over the phone. She also said I’d receive a call back and no one has yet to call. It’s been nearing a week... sadly it was the same woman we had check us in so I didn’t expect much.
Hotel itself is nice enough but definitely think noise could be a problem during full capacity and if your room is located near the opposite side of the building.
Wouldn’t waste our money staying again as we were charged a large surprise fee at checkout and we’re required to pay for parking. Not recommended for the money you pay to stay here, save yourself from the condescending staff attitude and extra fees by staying elsewhere.
