David the manager is a great guy he managed to put me my brother and sister in a very nice comfortable suite with a upstairs room for my sister and downstairs for me and my brother dining area with cooking facilities. 3 comfortable double beds. I can only praise David the manager for being si kind to us especially through the dramatic forest fire on westbank causing evacuation problems for so many people. After numerous cancellations due to kelowna airport closure, David always there to continue his support Thank you David and all your staff for their continued good service especially with such a difficult moment. Kind regards from room 419 David Richard and Beverley Cannon

Great space and had vinyl laminated floors that could use a better mop as I spilled a bit of juice on the floor and wiped it up with a paper towel and it was quite dirty. Also I don't know why my pillows were not as good as the ones on my daughters bed? Was nice and quiet in the back and close to the continental breakfast.

Thank-you for sharing your comments with us. Many of our guest room floors feature laminated solid surface flooring, which is very comfortable and clean. We're sorry that your pillow could have been better. For future travels, if a pillow isn't wasn't quite right (or anything else), please reach out to our Guest Service team. I've booked a room for my husband on May 25 - May 26 for a business trip. I've originally booked through booking.com for 3 people for $140 a night. Then cancelled and re-booked through booking.com the same night for 1 person for $134 a night. when my husband arrived on May 25 around 10:30pm, Econo Lodge front staff Mark said he can't find an active booking for him, he only found 2 cancelled booking. I called booking.com to verify and the agent said it's still active on his end, he said he confirmed with Mark that the booking is still active, we can go ahead with the booking. Then I called Econo Lodge again to let him know, but Mark left, the night staff Linda took over, she said no one called Mark, and the booking is still cancelled on their end. Linda is the most impatient, rude and difficult front desk person I've ever talked to. She said no one called, the booking is still cancelled on their system. She said my husband can just book through Econ Lodge. I told her that I need to make sure that the booking.com is not charging me money because the booking on my end isn't cancelled. And if my husband make the booking with Econo Lodge, then we might be getting double charged. (Econo Lodge charge him, and I got charged again with booking.com). Linda just doesn't care, she said it has nothing to do with her, it's my job to deal with booking.com, she doesn't care if I get double charged. Her attitude and her raised voice tone is making me frustrated as she's making the matter worse. I then called booking.com again to confirm the booking, this time another agent said they'll cancel the booking from booking.com and ask Econo Lodge to agree not charge me penalty charge to cancel the booking. And then I called Linda again to confirm, she said she agreed to booking.com that they won't charge us once the booking is cancelled on my end. That's not it, there's more. After my husband finally checked in around midnight, he told me they charged $140. I told him why $140, it should be $134. I called Linda again, and she said she charged $140 based on one of the cancellation. I told her that the cancellation is for 3 people, and since there's only my husband, why is she charging 3 people rate? She then start to say the system does this. I then ask her there's the other cancellation that's for $134 but only for one person, why didn't she charge that rate. She said she'll adjust that, without apologizing for her mistake. Again, the way she talk is super impatient and doesn’t even let me finish my sentence. She’s constantly talking over my voice. I said to her you just can't admit your mistake right? and she refuses she’s done anything wrong and said she has customers lining up (at 12:30 am) and she can't talk to me anymore and hung up my call. WOW, Econo Lodge, great customer service training. If it wasn't super late at night, I will NEVER ask my husband to check in to this place. The next day, I called their manager, guess what, I got a VM and never received a call back. I guess that's how they train people at this place. My husband told me, the next day morning when he's checking out, the manager was rude as well doing the proof that he did check into this place and make sure we don't get double charged. I know that I might get ignored on this and they think they can get away from this, but I'll give you bad review all though the internet until you take in my feedback. No customer should be treated like this. I know the manager of Econo Lodge doesn't care about this, then I will move up to complaint to the higher level of the company until my voice is heard.

We booked a week long stay here, but checked out shortly after getting into our room. We had booked a regular 2 queen room and we’re given a larger room with a kitchen on the ground floor, it felt damp and had a strong chemical smell that we could not tolerate. Staff were kind and understanding, let us check out at no charge. It might have been tolerable for one night, but not a week.

We feel badly that your experience at our hotel wasn't quite right. Our staff team is very good, and it is nice to hear that your concerns were attended to quickly. Our housekeeping team uses commercial cleaners to ensure a high degree of cleanliness, but at the same time doesn't overwhelm or become too strong. Thank-you for letting us know so we can improve our service. Warm regards,

We stayed at the hotel for 10 nights at the end of August. It was the cheapest price that we could find around. Our stay was comfortable and the room was clean. We booked double queen loft suite via the choice website. The room also had a sofa bed. For our family of four it was the perfect size with space for everyone. It would have been nice if the loft had an additional bathroom as we had experienced in other hotels - but not a deal breaker. Our room was motel style so our entrance was from outside although I saw some rooms were hotel style (enter from a hallway). Every day we got ice for our coolers and they were in convenient locations - across from our room and beside the lobby. The hotel has a pool and hot tub which we went to once and it was pretty good. The hotel also has a fitness center but we did not use it. The breakfast was fairly basic with options for cereal, bread and bagels, ham and cheese, yogurt, apples, and boiled eggs. To drink you can get coffee, milk, apple and orange juices, and there was hot chocolate powder and tea bags as well. There also was a water dispenser which was convenient to fill all our water bottles for the day. The coffee in the lobby was better (keurig) so my wife got coffee from there every morning. During our stay we decided not to get cleaning services and every few days we left our towels and garbage out to be collected and went to the lobby to get new towels, soap, and bags. We ran out of toothpaste on the 2nd last day so was able to get some from the hotel. Our stay was comfortable. The rooms were clean. Breakfast had enough items for everyone and beats trying to find and buy breakfast. Pool and Fitness Centre are nice to have although they are situated away from some of the rooms. We enjoyed our stay and we almost always choose Choice Hotels where ever we go.

Nothing fancy about the place. Good location, close to downtown. Plenty of parking spaces. Breakfast area very basic, we took out food back to the room to eat. Beds comfortable. Kitchen area basic. Lobby basic. Nothing attractive about its appearance.

We stayed here earlier (when it was known as Kelowna Inn & Suites) and came back to stay here again after the name changed to what it is now. We loved the room we stayed before and wanted to stay in the same room. The front desk personnel were nice enough to let us have the room that we were almost sure to have stayed in several years ago. The room appeared renovated as it no longer had the jacuzzi. We had no issues with that as absence of the jacuzzi made the large room appear more spacious despite the furniture in the room. Out of the furniture what we didn’t like was the round table. It was flimsy and somewhat unstable. The breakfast time period (6am – 10am) was very useful particularly for those who wanted to leave early in the morning. A hearty self-serve breakfast was offered that consisted of cereals, breads, bagels, muffins, boiled eggs, butter, cheese, honey and an assortment of jam/jelly. We liked the breakfast. This hotel provided good value for money and we enjoyed our stay here again !

The hotel was a simple, understated, clean, affordable place to sleep. The bed & pillows were so comfortable. Compared to some of the more expensive brand name hotels this one got one big thing right….an outlet with a mirror in a room other than the bathroom. Makes life easier when there is more than one person trying to get ready at the same time. The continental breakfast was missing tea so thankful for a Starbucks across the street. 20 min walk into the restaurant district & beach.

Leaving someone stranded with a valid reservation, a valid credit card, all because the chip on the card didn't work and they had no other way of processing the credit card for the security deposit. so in other words, if you have a prepaid room and reservation, they will still not allow you a room without a chip working credit card. NO OTHER HOTEL/CHAIN ON OUR ENTIRE TRIP HAD ISSUES WITH PROCESSING OUR CARD. I Have discontinued any affiliation with Econo Lodge chains with my travel website/magazine and can no longer support or recommend the brand. I generally do not leave reviews on websites not my own but this is one I feel people need to know about. DON'T GET STRANDED WITHOUT A ROOM, BOOK SOMEWHERE THEY CAN TAKE YOUR MONEY REGARDLESS OF THE SITUATION!

We're truly sorry to read about your experience. Our clearly stated policy requires a valid credit card to be presented at check-in. The presented credit card must be in name of the arriving guest and will be authorized for the amount of the stay. This is for everyone's security. Thank-you for understanding.
