Wow Wow Wow. From the moment you walk into this waterfront Boutique Hotel you are greater by friendly staff and cozy intimate atmosphere. We were originally booked in a King Suite at the Mateo which is supposed to be more modern but definitely felt more "condoish". We asked to me moved to the Eldorodo King Suit with corner soaker tub and were accommodated swifly and did not dissapoint. Room 222 waterfront with floor to ceiling fully opening living room doors getting the full Okanogan experience overlooking the marina and Lake Okanogan. The room was spacious and clean with beautifuly appointed and comfortable furniture. Luxury comfort is the only way I can describe this water front room.

The best part of our stay though was the staff. There are a young and energetic crew who all had smiles on their face and made every effort to ensure we were having the best couples get away. From room service breakfast on bed, patio drinks to dinner at the Mateo Mediteranian restrant or the indoor experience at the ElDorado everything was top shelf. Eggs Benedict and the classic breakfast were excellent as was our Muscles and Oysters at the Mateo. If you want something lighter there is a good choice of appetizers and finger food. Everything was reasonably priced for a boutique hotel.

The pool was warm with option of a hot tub spa as well as fitness facility. If you desire a dip in Lake Okanogan, there is a small private beach near by for a quick swim with wonderful chairs to lounge and bask on the sun.

I would 1000% recommend with hotel for a couple getaway or even a larger event such as a wedding as there is an open air rooftop lounge with comfortable sofas and nest chairs with outstanding views of the lake.

Thank you ElDorodo Lakeside for an infortmgetable stay.

My adult daughter and I just stayed at The Eldorado and had an even better stay than I had expected. We stayed for 4 nights over this last weekend. We stayed in a Luxury Lakeview Suite in the Arms building attached to the original hotel. Parking is close by Check in was quick and easy.

What I hadn't expected was the ambiance and feel of the buildings and the room. Originally built in the 1920s, the decor was perfect for that era. It felt like being back in the roaring 20s with the convenience of modern times. The colours of the walls, the furniture, the decorations ... everything fit in.

Our suite was everything I wanted. The front entrance has a hall, desk, and a large closet with robes that we didn't end up using. The kitchen has a table and chairs with a view of the lake. There is a fridge, microwave and dishwasher as well as coffee maker, plates and utensils. The living room had a comfy sofa bed, two large chairs, an attoman and a large mirror. The bathroom again was decorated in the 1920s style with a huge multi jetted shower. The bedroom had a very comfortable bed (maybe queen or king) with side tables. The large jetted tub is in an open alcove in the bedroom. The alcove has plantation shutters that you can leave open or closed.

The kitchen, living room, alcove and bedroom all have wide views of the lake. We would leave the sliding doors open and listen to the music and people. Closed, the rooms were very quiet.

Had room service - awesome.

We were there during a heat wave and the rooms were very comfortable. Never had to do any adjusting of the temperature.

There was a TV in the bedroom and living room.

We were so busy we didn't get a chance to try any of the different pools or other amenities.

We did get to experience an unexpected fire alarm. Luckily during the daytime and there was no fire. Did get to see all of the staff and guests in the parking lot.

We are definitely going back.

Great little gem in Kelowna, wonderful history in this hotel, and it has a dedicated whiskey tasting room with whiskeys from the world. Our room was excellent, with a little balcony facing the lake. Nice bathroom amenities, with coffee machine in the room for the morning fix. Many amenities, including restaurants and groceries within 10 mins drive.

Dinner at the pub downstairs was nice, minimal menu but great food. We also dined in the nearby sister hotel, Manteo, it was wonderful as well.

Customer service is great, although you have to figure out where they are:-) During non-peak hours, they are at the Manteo (nearby hotel).

We used the pool and hot tub a couple of times, robes are provided in the room. Heated pool was really nice!

Will come again!

We stayed in the Arms building of the El Dorado hotel for 2 nights. We were drawn to the hotel because of the location and amenities. However, from the moment we walked in to the Arms building, we were disappointed. The whole building seemed worn and dirty, including the smell. I understand this is a historic building, but care could be taken to clean or replace worn out upholstery on chairs and couches. Even a simple vacuuming of the rug (including at the entrance) would have helped. The room we stayed in faced the harbor so it was noisy at night and the room walls were too thin (we could hear guests in another room through the night!). The bed itself was comfortable, which we appreciated, and all the staff we interacted with were super helpful and friendly and the boardwalk is really nice to walk along. To be clear, there are 2 different hotels at this resort - the El Dorado and the Manteo Hotel. The El Dorado did not meet our expectations, but perhaps the Manteo (which is newer) would be better.

There is so much to love about this old hotel. Rooms are a decent size. All the restaurants in the resort are good. The bathroom and high backed claw tub overlooking the water deserves 5 stars on its own. But this hotel is so LOUD! Loved my balcony overlooking the marina but the music from the dockside restaurant was loud from lunch until about 11 pm every night. I was here for a week so heard the same playlist over and over again. My last night there was a wedding in the board room across from my room - didn’t expect a party so close by on a Thursday night. I really wanted to stay in the old hotel while here at the resort but I’d advise people to choose one of the newer ones. If you have kids with you you’ll never get them to sleep in these rooms.

The lobby of the hotel is always vacant. We had to walk to another hotel in the complex with our language, in -6 degree at night and we got lost and got sick the following day. I asked the clerk to move us to two rooms in the heritage building and she said she has no authority to change the reservation! The whole checking charade took 1 hour and we missed the dinner as all restaurants closed at 9 and to enter our room we had to take an ugly corridor as the entrance of the building which smelt swimming pool. To top it all our room was facing the elevator which woke us up at 6 am with its wring. The hotel was completely empty of guests and employees. Why should they give us that room?? and not sea view despite our reservation, just facing a horrible building site. They text us at midnight that there will be fire alarm testing in the morning 😩🤦🏻‍♀️ I was so mad that I told them they should not do that before 11 . fire alarm test started at 11 and went on and on and on for 15 min and they nocked at our door. If it wasn’t for the nice bar tenderDamian from Manchester, who gave us something to eat at 9:30, the whole trip would have been ruined. He mad us laugh. Thank you Damian.
We had experience of a dinner in Eldorado before this trip, in the dining room facing the lake and that is why we came back. This time they didn’t even let us have lunch there and we had lunch in a box of a room with 4 tables partially looking to water from the corner of the building. If is a shame that this heritage nice building is run so unprofessionally. I wonder how much does it cost to have someone at the front desk during the day for a hotel which calls itself prestigious!!!

“Worst experience ever” hosting our special company event with El Dorado. It was a bad choice. Cleanliness, hygiene, customer service and professionalism is terrible. We could have said no and paid the cancelation fee when we had the disappointing dining experience in Manteo’s restaurant rather than going to a stressful day-event with El Dorado. But because we gave second chance when Pam, the Sales & Event Coordinator Manager assured us that they will make it up and give their best service, it did not happen! Although, food tasted good and was served on time during the buffet dinner, apart from that nothing is up to standard. We were only given 4-hr for ingress so we made the simplest decoration we could. Upon arriving at the venue, the boardwalk lounge is full of cobwebs, dead pests, thick dust, carpet not vacuumed, and seating arrangements were too tight, the patio was full of dried leaves, window glass and frames were filthy that you cannot appreciate the beautiful view, full of cobwebs and unused furniture were not organized. We pointed out the cleanliness during the ocular visit and we were assured that it will be done but sadly same situation we found during the actual event. Our team cleaned up and helped to move furniture in order for the venue to look presentable. They intent to set up the main courses for the buffet on a billiard table next to the toilets of their public swimming pool on ground floor where public are in and out and horribly over 25 steps below the banquet. All serving items for food were set up on the billiard table and I must beg to move it upstairs as previously agreed. It's unusual that the Event Coordinator Manager did not show up during the event as she is the one whom we were dealing with during the entire preparation. She sent a lady who doesn’t know which job needs to be done. Housekeeping team arrived when everything was set, dirt, dust and cobwebs were falling on tables fully set up for dinner. Chairs obviously worn out has no covers at all. Hors d’ oeuvres were not served properly as 7 orders were not served at 5pm. Our team members mentioned that they have not tried the canapes, but server was buzzing out plates full of canapes on the poolside. One lady from the crew is talking non-sense with slurry words. Attached photos won't give justification to our terrible experience. Truly, sad! The name El Dorado is not worth it, basic service and expectations were not met! Nonetheless, I can only commend Nav, she attended the bar well and Raj did a great job on the buffet. I hope that the General Manager will look into this matter.

First, I want to say, I usually try to go with the flow when in a hotel, but the expectations for this place were high, and wow were we ever let down.

Where to begin? Long story short: for this price, if you don't get a lake-view room you are getting ripped off. Plain and simple. Check out the beautiful pics of our view below. The room itself felt like being on the set of Gone With The Wind. Out-dated, old timey furniture, old porcelain flooring, drab curtains, and no fan in the bathroom. Yuck.

Anyway, aside from the lack of view and feeling transported back to 1928, our room had the distinct smell of bacon being cooked. At first I thought someone next door had ordered food, but the smell persisted and seemed to get stronger. Only then did I realize our room was right about the back entrance of the hotel restaurant, where all the trash and bottles are thrown, and where the smell wafts up.

I tried to go to the roof patio of the hotel where they said I could sit and watch the sun, but that was closed for a function.

At dinner, we were seated inside with blaring music despite there being outdoor tables available. My seat had an a/c vent RIGHT underneath it. Why would they seat anyone there?

Frankly, do NOT book through booking.com or one of the others, it appears they give you terrible treatment because you are one of "the poors", all with a courteous smile (the staff were friendly and apologetic, but did nothing to help).

If I ever decide to stay here again, I will make sure to call the hotel directly, and ensure I have a room with a view of the lake, and not of a grease trap surrounded by trash.

The hotel is nice enough but other than that not family or pet friendly. Pets are allowed but you cannot take them anywhere onsite except for your room. For the price there is no continental breakfast and though they allow kids there isn’t much for families with young kids. Pool suck, the private beach is small, finding parking was a nightmare. Lastly, other people can stare directly into your room from there patio, picture for reference. For travellers with young kids or pets, you would do better getting into something like a super8 or best western.

Never in my life have I experience such disrespect checking into a hotel. The amount of inconsistencies with this organization makes me wonder if they have someone finger painting the bookings in the back office.

I called and made my reservations a week in advance, asking for an early check in willing to pay more as I had a wedding starting at 3pm. I was assured the room would be ready by 1pm. Upon arriving at 2pm to check it I was told the room was not available. ( they just clean all the rooms in the last hour). I was told I could upgrade my room for an additional 150 dollars. I figured $540 was enough to pay for a room I was only going to see after the wedding (2am till 11am).

I asked if I could perform the check in requirements ( credit card for DD, blah blah) in the afternoon rather than dealing with that at 2am.

Was it that was impossible as they may change my room.

Would have been great if they changed my room to one available so I didn’t want to go get ready and put my suit on in a public washroom.

I wasn’t going to let this ruin my weekend.

I was assured there was staff on 24/7 so I wouldn’t have an issue checking in after the wedding.

Came back to hotel after the wedding to wait at the desk for 37mins before staff arrived to check me in. At this time the attendant told me I was being charged a “no show fee” and I had to pay for an additional fee. Flabbergasted as I had been there earlier in the day I told him I’ll deal with that at check out as I was told there was no manager on staff.

In the morning upon check out there was a note saying outstanding fee needing to be paid due to “no show”. Thankfully the morning staff recognized me from the day before, but had to get the manager to address clearing the fee.

At that time I attempted to tell the manager about my experience. Rather then an apology or anything addressing I was said I was told “ we’ve had complaints about that staff member before”

For the price you pay for the accommodations I would expect some professionally.

I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.
