Detailed Reviews
This is a great place to stay for a very reasonable rate. I booked and stayed at the Recreation Inn for 8 nights. My room was very clean and comfortable. I had a mini fridge and microwave in the room. All the amenities were supplied - hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, soap. Coffee and tea as well as juice and a continental breakfast each morning. Very friendly staff who were ready to help with any problem. Laundry on site as well. Excellent location, being close to all shopping and restaurants. A great experience.

We stayed here for a girls trip to Kelowna, it was exactly what we needed. Check in was easy, the front desk girls both on check in and check out were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and in good order. There was extra blankets and the A/C worked great.
Two reasons I didn't put 5 stars; one was that the walls were pretty thin... there was a group of guys staying next to us. They kept it quiet all night, just having conversation but it was like they were sitting in the room with us if the A/C shut off and there was nothing to drown the noise out. Second was that there was no iron and ironing board in the room! I went to the front desk to ask if they had any, and the evening front desk guy was pretty rude about it. I think every room should have an iron and board... or at least available for every room if requested. I couldn't get one because they were "all rented already". Bummer.

Thank you for stay with us! You came up for a visit at a great time weather wise. We are glad that you found the AC and the room in good order as your housekeeping team is working extra hard to keep everything in good order. We are sorry to hear that you weren't able to get an ironing board and the manager has been notified to buy a few more. We hope to see you again soon! (With an iron ready should you need it!)

If your looking for an inexpensive (for Kelowna B.C) to stay then look no further! It is a some what dated two story motel but spotlessly clean with super friendly staff, even though it was generally very busy it was really quite no rowdy guests or parties.
Lots of close by parks, shopping and restaurants and a cute little bar & grill Baxter's with the best lemon pepper wings and cold beer.
They also have two propane barbeque areas with 2 huge picnic tables.

Thank you for the review! We are so happy that you were able to check out Baxter's. The My Brother has a comedy club at that restaurant and we have to agree with you about the wings and beer! We have an amazing housekeeping team this year and you can rest assured that they are super happy to hear that their hard work as not gone unnoticed. The Recreation Inn staff look forward to seeing you again soon.

Hotel's Favourite
We enjoyed the place, nice beds and clean rooms they were busy but we had no problems with noise. the only negative was the breakfast it could use few more hot breakfast options, the boiled egg was the only hot option and they were over cooked. Great place to stay in a good location.

I will preface this review with the following, my wife and I typically camp and as such I’m not the most up to speed on hotels and their terminology. Also, this review is wordy, but I don’t want to omit details which could confuse my overall review.
To that end, we had reserved a room at Recreation inn and suites with a kitchenette. The website photos showed two Queen beds side by side and also included an apartment sized fridge and stove which was perfect as we wanted to trim our trip costs by doing some of our own cooking.
When we arrived to the motel and had checked I we were disappointed to find our room in fact came with a bar fridge and a hot plate.
Clearly there had been a disconnect between what we thought we were paying for and the reality of the situation.
We immediately returned to the office and spoke with Mike (owner) and JJ (manager) and explained our expectations vs. reality.
Both Mike and JJ apologized to us explaining that the website is in need of some edits to avoid just this situation and clarified that only the suites include a full kitchen.
They offered an upgrade to accommodate at a reduced rate in order to fit our budget and we were quickly moved over to the new room (suite)
The suite is aged compared to a Hilton or best western or the like, but has been very well maintained. We had lots of space. The building and grounds were immaculate and the location was surprisingly quiet given its close proximity to a main artery through Kelowna. Location is also very central and there is an outdoor pool which unfortunately was unavailable for repairs/maintenance, however we were offered full use of the indoor pool just down the road at the sister hotel Dilworth inn.
Despite the minor hiccups we had an excellent weekend in Kelowna and were very pleased with both the motel and its staff!

Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful review! We're so glad to hear that Juan and I were able to address the mix-up with your room and provide you with an upgrade that met your needs. Your feedback is invaluable, and we’re thrilled that you had an excellent weekend in Kelowna despite the initial hiccups. We hope to welcome you and your wife back for another stay soon! Safe travels!

Very run down motel, complimentary breakfast was a green orange, a dry muffin and a granola bar in a brown paper bag. My room was filthy and loud, beside the laundry/housekeeping room, my tv did not work and there was a dead wood bug inside my pulled back sheets. The night we stayed, the nice front desk staff came to my room to try and fix the TV but couldn’t figure it out either. She apologized when seeing the condition of the filth!
The next morning when I brought this to the attention of the checkout staff (a man and a woman, whom I believe to be the owners) they were argumentative. They said statements like “the TV does work, and the housekeeper cleaned that room”. Clearly they were very defensive, but to the point where I had to tell them they were being rude and arguing with me. Literally she replied “I’m not arguing, this is not arguing”. They did not apologize once and reluctantly offered me $50 off. Horrific experience!!!

This is a older building - but don't let that dissuade you. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Lots of bonuses you don't get with larger chains. They offered lawn games, had great little bbq areas with clean bbqs, nice little sitting areas - and of course the outdoor pool. Parking was free and convenient and I felt very safe parking and leaving my car. Staff were very welcoming and friendly - would defintely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in kelowna

+1
Stayed here with a family of 5 in the family suite with a separate room with queen bed and another room with a queen and a single.. Perfect setup for us and they had the deepest tub I've ever seen.. LOL. The outside building does not reflect the inside rooms at all so don't let that fool you. Front staff were polite and air con drowned out any outside noises that there may have been so we had a good sleep. Close walking or driving to everything needed. Highly recommend!

For a quick overnight solo this place is great and staff/checkin is good too.
However if you have a pet it's one of the most expensive places in Kelowna. I was charged an extra $102 because the only pet friendly room is a kitchenette with linoleum flooring which raises the price I was told.
To be fair I did get an email telling me of these extra fees but I was out of service then found it in my junk email. So the hotel is not to blame.
I'm just saying for over 200$ total it cost me to have a pet this is no longer a budget friendly option. The hotel description only states a 20$ per fee which is normal but not the most expensive room they have on site.

We booked the Recreation Inn in advance, just needing one overnight on our vacation before spending the next day driving back to the States. The location is in a mundane neighborhood, near a busy street, so we didn't expect much.
However! The staff was very friendly, place was clean and quiet. Manager went out of his way to help us with a television issue (fixed it) and I could easily cross that busy street to get a variety of take away dinners.
Exactly what we wanted!
