Sleep Quality
TripAdvisor travelers awarded us the 2012 Travelers Award for being in the top 25 B&B's in Canada and with our current 5/5 rating of Excellent. We are Nanaimo's highest rated waterfront resort. Our guests love to just simply relax in their recently fully updated luxurious private suite while enjoying the excellent lake views (from any suite) whether that be relaxing in a comfortable bed, sitting in front of a fireplace or soaking in a in-suite jacuzzi tub. For the adventurous we offer year round complimentary kayaks use (including a new 2 person kayak), standup paddle boards or a canoe which are found at our floating dock. If you want to just relax and enjoy the lake view while outside it simply doesn't get much better than from the lake level hot tub. During these Covid-19 times all breakfasts are served directly to your suite and all suites are fully sanitized between guests. All suites feature private entries and as the facility is quite spacious social distancing is not a problem. Free onsite parking and WIFI are included. Come and share this beautiful waterfront location with us and let us leave you with great memories of your Long Lake Waterfront B&B stay.

We stayed here two nights in the summer and would definitely go back. The place is great - right on the lake, it's a little piece of heaven. The property is really well maintained and the hosts are friendly and helpful. You have a deck with access to a canoe, and kayaks. It was such a relaxing getaway - you can sit at the water and read/relax all day or jump in the lake and go for a swim. They have a hot tub as well. Other amenities: wifi, access to dvds and movies, A/C in the rooms. Gordie made great hot breakfasts for us each morning and they spent the time talking to us and giving us advice about the area.

Our hosts Janice and Gordie were excellent and obviously love their job. Arbutus Room was very adequate for two, lovely views over Long Lake. All our needs were catered for. There are lots of water "toys" for guests to use. Breakfast each day was different and delicious. All in all a great place for a holiday.

Whilst visiting our daughter and family in Vancouver, we decided to treat them for a long weekend in Vancouver Island and we could not have found a better place.Just a short drive from Nanaimo ferry terminal we discovered this little piece of paradise on earth! Just by the lakeside, with own private pier and boating facilities in this peaceful location, spotless rooms, with all attention to details and excellent hosts.......what more does one need to really enjoy and relax on a holiday! Highly recommended and looking forward to revisiting soon.

Greetings from Gibraltar

My husband and my daughter and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Long Lake Waterfront B and B this past Christmas week 2012. Our hosts Gord and Jannie were so helpful and relaxed and gracious. The setting and our room the very nicest room we have ever stayed in with its beautiful setting overlooking the lake and gas fireplace and sunken tub. The room had beautfiul "chi" or energy in this magical setting and we were truly able to rest and relax in the very clean, warm impeccably decorate setting. Thank you-well done!

My son and I stayed at this B and B from Dec 13 to Dec 18 this year. Our circumstance in coming to Nanaimo was to visit with a family member who is in recovery through the support of the Edgewood Centre. As a result, it was an emotional but happy visit and having the wonderful Lakewood Suite to come home to each evening provided a little piece of homeiness for us. It felt like staying with family, but better! This is because the suite is completely separate from the owners, so you have your own peace and privacy. From the moment we arrived and looked in the fridge and saw Nanaimo bars packaged in little dishes, we knew that this was going to be the place for us. A highlight each morning was the company of Gordie and Janice, the owners of this facility and their introduction to the other guests and sharing of their wealth of knowledge about the area. The breakfast each day prepared by Chef Gordie was like dining in a Five Star restaurant with souffles, pancakes, crepes and seasonal fruits, all with healthful ingredients to help make each day a better one. We were so impressed by the panoramic views from our suite extending from one side of the suite to the other. Staying in was as fun as going out. The warm electric fireplace created ambience. This home is situated in a beautiful lake side area and the vegetation and lake side is exceptional. We made a point of relaxing in the hot tub both during the day and in the evening and were surprised one day in the middle of winter to see canoers and jet skiiers out. Only in BC. I could go on and on about our experience but I will close by saying that we were fortunate to have found this beautiful Gem and to have made friends of the owners. We would highly recommend this to anyone at any time of the year. We will be back!

We stayed in the Longlake Suite for 4 nights. The suite was stunning and the views were fabulous. We had our own lounge area, kitchen and onsuite shower room, which were all serviced to high standards. The suite was overlooking a stunning lake where we could have (if it had been summer) taken part in water sports. See attached pics!
On a down side we found that this b&b was only suitable for car owners and definately not for disabled people. Gordie and Janice informed us that we could walk to the bus stop or to the nearby mall (though a wooded area) but in doing this we needed to walk up 2 very steep hills - definatley not suited to people who are elderly or disabled and without cars.
The breakfast in the morning was beautiful with a starter of fruit cocktail followed by a warm meal (different every day) and a choice of fruit drink and coffee or tea. I thought the 'breakfast cermony' was very odd. I never experienced anything like it. As in other establishments were breakfast was between eg 7am to 10am, there was no choice in Longlake with breakfast being arranged at a set time the previous morning. I felt I was obligated to sit and chat with other guest instead of having a quiet breakfast before a long day of sightseeing. Although some people would find this nice I thought at times it was rather intruding.
If I came back to Vancouver Island and had a car I would definately stay at Longlake and I would recommend it for people who drive but not to people who have disabilities.
Gordie and Janice run a very well maintained and comfortable b&b and are both very well informed as to the sights and must sees in the area. Well done.

What a beautiful B&B. Our 'Lakeside' room, was everything we needed, very, very clean and excellent views. Handy access to the lake and hot tub. We were treated to an excellent breakfast, and Gordie and Janice were perfect hosts. We will definitely be back again!! Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

I can honestly say I have never stayed in such a great B&B. Gordie and Janice have thought of everything to make their guests feel welcome and "at home" away from home. Their hospitality was second to none. Our room was fantastic and was lacking nothing. The view of the lake in the morning and evening was fantastic, and sitting on the decking beside the lake was just magical. We actually went on the "Nautical Experience" sorted out by Gordie and what tales we have of "the huge salmon that got away"!! We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the Long Lake B & B to everyone. Go with no worries and have fun!! Mary & George, Rugby, England
