Coming from Germany it was our second time in the "Pine & Picket". This time we stayed in the beautiful garden cottage. As we were scuba diving that proved to be the perfect choice as there is plenty of room for the scuba gear (not to mention that Ingvar always has some ideas where to dry gear after the dives!). For 5 nights the cottage was our home and whenever we come back to Nanaimo this will be the place we stay! Having travelled extensively in our "professional career" we learned to appreciate the little things that are missing in the "big hotels".... not so here! Anja and Ingvar are perfect hosts and you will always feel home......

Very enjoyable 2 night stay and so close to the ferry terminal. Friendly and helpful owner operator made us feel at home. Stayed in the cottage surrounded by relaxing garden scenery. Definitely would stay again and I recommend this place to everyone. The kitchen was well equipped with tasty food in the fridge and cupboards to use during our stay.

My daughter and I spent two nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The gardens were a delight, all sorts of wonderful plants growing. Very convenient to the ferry from Vancouver and central to exploring the Island. We will definitely make a return visit and highly recommend this charming B&B.

The accommodations were perfect for two couples travelling together .Two rooms with a sitting room between them .The breakfast was delicious served with plenty of good coffee. Ania and Ingvar are great hosts very entertaining and can give good recommendations for local restaurants. Location is great for ferries and exploring further up the island.Their garden shows how much you can grow in small areas and is full of great produce. We would certainly stay here again.

My wife and me stayed with Ania & Ingvar for 2 nights in June and it was just perfect. They were great hosts and welcomed us warmly! The room was great with love for details and you could even see the water from our balcony. Ania prepared us delicious breakfast and gave us tips where to go in Nanaimo. Unfortunately we couldn’t go kayaking as it was too windy. We had a great time and enjoyed it very much. Sending warm greetings to Canada from Germany, Martin & Ulrike

Ania and Ingvar are excellent hosts, felt spoilt. Ania is a amazing cook, breakfast was a true delight, went above and beyond. Stayed 4 nights in Provence Room was great, comfortable bed and a great deck to see the marina. Room was clean and fresh. Common area was peaceful and great to kick back and read a bit. Garden is wonderful, they grow so much. Seriously kiwis!! Amazing stories and you feel so comfortable talking with them. Lots of wonderful travel stories. Close to everything we needed to be by. Short walk to Marina and renting kayaks, a few pubs and restaurants easy walk. Highly recommend staying with them.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Ania and Ingvar! The location was ideal for us being close to the Horseshoe Bay ferry in Nanaimo and then heading onward along the highway to Tofino, our next destination. Our hosts warmly welcomed us and made us feel at home with chats upon arrival and over breakfast. Our rooms were comfortable and very clean with a lounging area and balcony situated between the 2 rooms for socializing or relaxing. Ania suggested a restaurant for dinner in the marina area within walking distance and then kindly offered to make a reservation for us. It was a great choice for dinner! Ania is a Cordon Bleu trained chef and delighted us with an incredible breakfast! We had homemade scones with clotted cream along with her homemade jam, a tasty fruit cup and then we had delicious Eggs Benedict with Hollandaise sauce. The table and food presentation were exquisite with many small touches you would fine with a fine dining restaurant. I wish we could have stayed longer just to enjoy more of Anita’s breakfasts and cooking! Very enjoyable stay and highly recommended.

Ania and Ingvar make you feel like family from the moment you arrive. Wonderful well traveled hosts with many a trip to share. The best accommodation you could ever expect. Great views with a beautiful garden, comfortable bed, impeccably clean room and bathroom facilities, wonderful travel momentous to look at and books to read in an upstairs lounge or out on two decks. Ingvar's love songs will put you fast to sleep upon retirement and you will wake up to Ania's delicious creative breakfast using only the best ingredients. Many thanks Ania and Ingvar for hosting us for two nights!!!! Book your stay without even giving it a second thought!!!

Stayed for one night in the Provence room. Spotless! Walked to Nanaimo Harbour (about 3 km) on a beautiful sunny evening for dinner. Ania and Ingvar are fantastic hosts! Ania is know for her amazing breakfasts and now we know why. She created amazing waffles with bananas flambe, fruit compote, fresh strawberries, cream and maple syrup - very decadent! Wonderful travel chats with Ania over breakfast and enjoyed Ingvar's entertaining chats and singing. Thanks so much!
