We stayed in an efficiency room with 2 doubles for 6 nights for a sports tournament in August. In the first room we were shown, the AC unit blew black dust all over the bed closest to it. In the next room, the AC was filthy but didn't blow dust. The room smelled and I bought febreze, Lysol and an air freshener to make it through. The hotel was sold out and no other hotels in Nanaimo had occupancy available for 4 people due to the 1000 person tournament and it being August, so we were stuck. The room is very small, there is 28" between the bed and the kitchenette, 1 burner didn't work and the one that did took over 30 minutes to boil a pot of water that had been pre-boiled in a kettle. The continental breakfast was only muffins, yogurt and fruit. It was all fresh but not a particularly well balanced breakfast for children.

The cleaning staff did a good job, we always had lots of clean towels, replaced kitchen supplies and clean bedding.

I loved the little room, perfect for one. Last year at Christmas time I stayed here with my husband but sadly he passed away in February . Having the little room clearly designed for one, helped me be comfortable on my own. Everything one might need in a hotel room was there, and being at the end of the hall there was little sound of happy couples to bring sadness during my stay

The location was excellent for our road trip. It is close to the major roads. The rooms and the hotel itself (especially the rugs) was a bit dingy, but adequate for the price. The room was clean, but the plumbing needs to be updated. The continental breakfast included in the price was good, nothing to brag about.

We purposely booked this hotel to make use of their laundry facilities. Unfortunately when we checked in we were told the laundry room closed at 6pm as it was too noisy for the adjacent room. That seems very restrictive and not particularly useful for guests. We were not pleased.
They should recognize that guests have an expectation to use the advertised facility and plan accordingly.
Otherwise the stay was fine

Nothing outstanding about this motel. It is aged and shows it. It is clean. The rooms are small. Breakfast is bare bones. A room was converted to a small location for eating. My only reason for writing this review is as a WARNING to others. We turned our room key in without getting a receipt. We called a week later to inquire why we had not been emailed and why an extra $57.00 added to the published rate and we told it was because we used a 3rd party to make the reservation. No recourse ... we had booked the room with a CC and the revised amount was now including an additional fee. The charge was put thru in Texas USA. Manager never called me back and let the part time help tell me there was nothing they could do.

We stopped here one night before continuing on. The rooms are very large and the beds are comfortable so we slept well. The furniture itself is quite old and worn but it does not matter when the beds were good. Breakfast was included and consisted of muffins, yoghurt, fruit, porridge, juice and coffee.

This is a dated depresssing establishment with some rooms so small that you climb over luggage to get around. Their 'limited' continental breakfast is a joke - and not even close to looking anything like the photo on the website. There is no protein other than yogurt, which in our case was five (5) days beyond the best before date. The recpetionist said they were limited by the health authorities to what they could serve - one can assume that this implies there is something unsanitary about the place. Given the options in the area, definetly give this place a pass.

Although the hotel staff are very friendly, accommodating and helpful I need to put this up so others are aware. Bed bugs can get into your luggage and be transported to your home which is why this is such a serious matter that needs to be reported. The staff were made aware including a manager. They were very quick to change my room, heat what belongings they felt safe to do so and moved my belongings so once I was off I could rest easier. It was only 2 one of which I caught and brought down to the front desk. They said they would call pest control and I believe them as they did not re-rent that particular room for the rest of my stay. There was an odd smell when some of our staff had checked in a day earlier and now that we have had this encounter it’s appears to be the spray. For those of you who don’t know it’s a really great idea to travel with Isopropyl Alcohol in a spray bottle and upon arrival spray beds, bedding, carpets and such to make a barrier, if they are present they will retract and go into another vicinity as they will not cross the alcohol sprayed. I really hate writing a negative review because the staff are pleasurable but I’m a female, a mom, and if I had brought bed bugs home it would’ve been an unimaginable distress to my family. My coworker’s and I have reported it to our HR Person and we will not be returning to stay here unless we see positive reviews and such in the long future. I wish them luck on rectifying this situation. I have woken up twice since staying there out of a dead sleep dreaming and than thinking I see a bed bug on my arm. It’s uncomfortable knowing this is happening as an after affect. I do not want to say which company or group of us it was as we are big and that could start others issues for my company and it’s partners. I believe hotels should give the black light/UV flashlights to their housekeeping staff and management to better get a grasp on these types of issues before they happen. With travellers coming and going the transmission is easy but staying on top of it is up to the business and it’s owners. Blow up the picture once you click on it and you will clearly see. I could not zoom in to show you all as it only allows a certain size to be uploaded.

Although not high ended, it is clean and comfortable. Our room was clean and in good repair. All staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. People travelling with their pooch will be pleased to have their pet with them for a fee. Some traffic noise. Rooms have a small patio or balcony. Reflective glass allows you to have curtains open yet still have privacy. Small Breakfast is included and their patio delightful. Walking distance to Promenade.Laundry on site. Eateries not far away.

NOT pet friendly!!!!!!!!! Booked through Expedia as a pet friendly hotel and brought our dog into lobby to check in. Assigned a room by desk clerk who clearly saw our dog but were then charged an extra $250 the next morning!

Beware of this hotel AND Expedia as there is no customer support!!!!
