We really enjoyed our stay The Amberwood BnB. The cabin is very comfortable, well appointed and so welcoming. Dana and Ron are great hosts! Fresh eggs for our breakfast and amazing granola made a great start to our days. Another bonus is the home is dog-friendly plus the hosts dogs came to visit regularly. The location is a great starting point for visiting parks, restaurants plus treks to Nanaimo and beyond. Highly recommend.
Stayed for 5 nights in early June. The Cottage is inviting, cozy, lovingly decorated and clean. Completely self contained, lacking for nothing. The hosts are so friendly and make sure that you are absolutely happy during your stay. The website is completely accurate as are the photos. There are 2 lovely dogs on the property....the only thing missing..was a cat. 🐾 Definitely a location to return to!
It is one of the most relaxing places you could ever stay! The otters in the pond, rabbits running around and their two great dogs that make themselves right at home ( be prepared to throw the ball a lot) I have been there many times and will definitely be back !
Dana and Ron have something special here. My hubby and I stayed for 2 nights after a weekend of work and wanted some R n R... And we got it! The suite, attached to their home, was comfortable, clean and super cosy. Great attention to detail. The bathroom is gorgeous with a fantastic tub and shower. Twinkling lights and candles everywhere. We woke up the first morning to a snowy wonderland but stayed warm inside and enjoyed a terrific breakfast. Dana's homemade granola with yogurt and blueberries is delicious. Everything you need is there - microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, milk/cream, kettle, teas, etc. We can only imagine how much fun the river is in the summer! What an incredible back yard. The new River House looks fantastic and we hope to return soon! We loved our meals at Gabriel's Gourmet Cafe and Mon Petit Choux in downtown Nanaimo, as well as Sawmill Tap and Grill in Chemainus. We also enjoyed a leisurely walk at Colliery Dam, as well as Neck Point Park in North Nanaimo. …
Our room was elegant and very confortable with a large spa like bathroom and cozy flannel sheets on the bed (neceasssry as we got a big snowfall the night we stayed there). However the room was well heated if one wished to be particularly warm. Breakfast was served in our room. My husband has bacon, eggs, toast and coffee, I had a wonderful home made granola with yogurt and blueberries.Great view out our garden doors of a lovely garden and a beautiful snowfall. It was only 5 minutes to Nanaimo airport. with a gas station en route for filling up our rental car. Overall this was a superb chocie for our last night on the Island.
