So the main idea of this hotel is to have the old Victorian style looking hotel while still having modern features. Yes they have the Victorian style, but it still has old features. They use keys instead of cards. And just a note, they only have one key, so if you forget one of your keys in the room, you have to talk to the manager to get your key (they scan your legal documents so I don't think you have to pay). Another thing is that the doors are locked in the evening, even though there is a night manager. I don't understand this. Something I like though is that the location is very convenient due to it being right beside the Columbia Station (the metro). The shower was so confusing. I understand it is a hotel shower, but it makes no sense to use at all. Although if you do get a stay at the hotel, you get a 15% discount at the Met Bar & Grill. The walls are also really dirty.

This hotel has very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is a bit further out from downtown Vancouver but is a 40 minute train ride to Canada Place, for example. Driving a car is only 5 minutes less but good luck finding decently priced parking. The rooms are decent however dated. There is parking near but you can get a pass from the hotel for a daily rate of about $15/day including taxes. The location is right next to the Columbia Sky Train station and unlike others that have posted that the train is noisy, I disagree unless you are such a light sleeper that car noise would wake you. Our room faced the station and we were on the third floor.

I stay here a couple times a year when I come to visit my son.

This time I am in #438, which is nice with no one above me (being a light sleeper)

If you come by the transit train, it is literally 50 feet from the Columbia street exit, and you can see into the beer garden when you leave the train.

Rooms are always very clean and both the bed and pillows are very comfortable. Even though my room faced the train station, I never heard a sound all night or even in the morning.

Wi-fi is good, but their credit card machine is finicky. It wouldn’t accept my visa, although it worked perfectly good in the attached bar 5 minutes later. Other customers also had issues with it.

But this is always a great place to stay in New Westminster.

What a cute hotel. Our king room on the 4th floor was spacious, very clean, with a great view. There are drawbacks that would stop me staying here again. There is no where to park to unload luggage as the road outside is a bus stop - and the bus stops regularly. The parking was offsite in a public carpark at a CAN$15pn cost. Having a room on a busy road did mean a lot of noise but Reception said a room facing the back would be even noisier due to a train and he did promise a great view. We were very happy with our stay. I would have given 4 stars except for the two factors I’ve mentioned.

Chose the hotel for its convenient location for our city appointments. We stay in Greater Vancouver often in similarly priced hotels, so for our $140 we expected nothing fancy, but a clean/safe room for a good sleep.
Instead, the room was substandard (normally would have asked for a different one, but were too busy between appointments to deal with moving). Super worn-out carpet, big stains (didn’t want to walk barefoot) and tears where the bed’s wheels cut into over time. A disgusting stain on the bed skirt and a bunch of hair on & under the sheets. Other peoples’ hair also in the bathroom (floor, shower & on the ceiling). No sink drain plug so we were scared of dropping things down the drain. Overall the room was in desperate need of TLC, furniture aging, paint peeling off the window ledges, several electrical cords hanging sketchily/under tension under the desk.
Bed was comfortable, but we only slept a few hours due to the skytrain noise. The station was right underneath our single pane window (with a big cutout for the a/c, so even less soundproof), so it sounded like we were sleeping in the station, with trains going in/out every couple minutes.
To add, a few things made us feel uneasy – a guest (?) in the lobby obviously under the influence/high on drugs mid-afternoon (+ an upset taxi driver who tried to get her to pay her fare), a bunch of rowdy folks hanging out outside the hotel/the adjacent bar, and the fact that the front door needs to get locked at night.

Was a nice stay until one of the hotel staff gave away my credit card info to someone in Britain and the US. Got charged $160 and it had to have come from the hotel because I had no previous charges on my credit card. I will not be staying here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Hotel manager and staffs are very nice and helpful. They satisfied all my needs during my stay. Very appreciated.

Although the hotel is old, the room is big, clean & tidy and the bed is comfortable. Deluxe king room face to river is so beautiful.

Hotel restaurant and bar open until 10pm. Guests have 15% off on food. Food and drinks are quite good.

Location is good, next to SkyTrain Columbia station, convenience to take train to everywhere. Station has circle ok convenience store and subway. Walk few minutes to Westminster pier park and 10 minutes to new westminster has many restaurants and superstore. Take 10mins trains to metrotown has big mall. Train to airport take one hour is acceptable.

Overall, the hotel is valued for money and much cheaper than hotel in city Centre.
I totally stay 8days and definitely will come back if go Vancouver again.
Very recommended!

The rooms look nothing like the photos...

Room was covered in dust, had blood on the walls, pillows dirty. Ceiling leaking.

Manager said because we booked through Expedia he was doing nothing for us. Was forced to stay in a dirty over priced room.

Large open rooms, wonderful and friendly staff who were quick to address any concerns we had and resolved them quickly. Great location, almost right beside the Sky Train and we could not hear them which was great, our room had a pretty view of the water. Beds were comfy

Staff were friendly. Room was large and clean. The sky train stop was right out the window and kept us awake most the night. People fighting and talking in skytrain platform. Our window had an air conditioner in it so no sound seal and we heard everything out in the back street all night. If you stay make sure you ask for a room in front!

The best what you can do.. Check in and ask te staff for a parking ticket. ($11 for 24 hours) The entry for the parkinglot is across the street. Strait on the entry of the hotel. Don’t forget to to this. Because you get a ticket. They are very strict. Have a nice trip !!
