We picked this motel based off some decent reviews, and for our purposes, it was an ok stay.
I would say still quite expensive for what you get, but it is high tourist season, so this was one of the most reasonably priced motels.

When we arrived, it was raining, and our room was leaking from the roof. Because we had arrived late, we had to stay (as there is no one in the office during night hours).
In the morning, we called the manager, and they were very quick to accommodate getting us another room.
The rooms are dated, and not the cleanest. It was nice to have the small kitchen in our room, which had a coffee pot, microwave, full size fridge and stove.

The wifi and a/c unit worked well.
The grounds are nicely kept, pool area was nice. Ample parking.
I would have liked to be able to see an actual owner or manager.....we never did see them in the office, we only every communicated by phone/email, so would be nice to have some business hours to talk to someone face to face

Overall, ok stay, but this hotel needs some cleaning and updating.

I don't think that I have ever been so glad to have found all of my other hotels in Penticton full. I got to stay at the Apple Tree. Other reviews are bang on: a little older, but clean and comfortable. It was a relief to come "home" to that hotel every night! My only complaint is that the air conditioner is very loud as is the bathroom fan (which is on the same switch as the bathroom light).

I have stayed here in the past, the location in convenient to shopping etc.

We stayed in a family suite, this offered plenty of room. However the air conditioning is only in the main room...the weather was in the 90s while we were visiting so it was quite warm!

The wifi was terrible, it kept cutting out. We would stand outside the room to have reliable service...there were others doing that as well.

The pool is nice to have at the end of the day.

It is a basic motel, offers a continental breakfast which is nice to have.

My wife and I have stayed at this property every year for 27 years. Since it changed ownership a few years back it has become a total dump. What use to be a beautiful, clean, well kept property is now filthy and in disrepair. What’s worse is the owner does not care. The pool deck was filthy and the pool had a ring of grime around it, so gross we didn’t even use it. The planters that use to have beautiful flowers are now barren and used as ashtrays. The lawn was littered with cigarette butts and litter which I mentioned to the owner and he did nothing about it. My family and I actually spent our first morning there raking the entire grass area, pulling weeds and sweeping the area in front of our unit. The bbq’s were so filthy and the garbages next to them were often overflowing. Our room had dust webs in the corners and stains on the ceiling where something was clearly leaking. Sad to say after almost 3 decades of wonderful memories at this place we will not return. Really unfortunate the owner let this happen to what used to be a little gem in Penticton.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else. This place is dirty and the owner/operator is barely present.

I and my friends have been staying at the Apple Tree for over 10 years. Always in the spring/fall so I can't comment on the AC. Friendly staff, easy check-in at whatever time we happen to arrive. The kitchenette has everything needed, the beds are comfortable and the rooms seem to be well insulated from the noise of the neighbouring rooms. Short walk to Cherry Lane, Boston Pizza and the Barley Mill pub is even closer ;)

We chose this hotel based on trip advisor reviews and it was the one of the top recommended. I was there with my husband, our 1 month old baby, my sister her boyfriend. We go to Penticton every summer and normally camp but stayed in a hotel this time since we have a baby. The actual room was decent, but I expected better for the price. The first time we flushed the toilet it overflowed all over the floor. It would not stop running.. We called the front desk and told them what happened, a few minutes later someone came to our door with a plunger and a mop, handed it over and left. Um okay? My sisters boyfriend tried to fix the toilet but couldn't. The mop they gave us was so crappy and old it wouldn't absorb anything. I called back the front desk as the toilet water was now leaking all over the carpet in our bedroom.. The manager came to fix it, however was extremely rude about it. He even gave me a speech about flushing diapers and baby wipes as if that's what caused the problem. I'm not an idiot, I wouldn't do that. He didn't even sanitize the floor which was now covered in icky toilet water. Not exactly sanitary with a baby in the room. Oh and when we first got in the room there was dirty washcloths hanging from the tub.. Ewww..

Took a trip to Penticton this Sept. and sayed 1 night at the Apple tree Inn( had reserved 5 nights) after the first night we got out of there and found something else. The room was old and smelly and I could tell you 50 things I didn't like about this place, from lights now working to chipped coffee mugs to big spiders, oldest bathroom vanity with no place to even set your stuff down. Just not at all what I was expecting.

Found this spot just by accident. Late evening driving, stopped at a couple of places that looked bit sketchy. Drove in, friendly staff and front desk was neat and clean. Rates were very reasonable, room was spotless, bed was comfortable, cable TV had an excellent choice of channels.

Excellent location close to all attractions and the beach area. Not a resort for a long stay but excellent value for one or two nights.

This is one of the cleanest and the nicest place to stay. They have a nice swimming pool accessible to both kids and adult. The rooms are all clean and renovated with new utilities. We got a nice Gas range in our kitchen. all hardwood floors and each room had its own Shaw modem for internet connection. If you are a Shaw member , u get your high speed internet in your room. The owners were always present to look after if their guests needed anything. This motel is very near to main city and is very close to stores like superstore and stuff. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good place to stay without spending your fortune.

Room was small but clean. After the first day I noticed that glasses and coffee cups were not being cleaned or replaced. I was not given new coffee to make in the morning and towels for the shower were not replaced. I took out my own garbage as one day that wasn't emptied.
