We have stayed here many times over the past 15 years and always very satisfied with everything. We always book the suite with Queen bed as it has a small kitchen. They are very good at accommodating us if we have an early arrival. It's also close to the convention centre which we go to.

Hotel's Favourite
This is our second year booking the Sandman. The staff here go out of their way to make your stay pleasurable. It is an older hotel and there have been improvements since last year. We had too many things plugged in and we blew a fuse so we called the front desk and within a few minutes someone came up and fixed it for us. When ever we called for something like towels or coffee they were prompt in their delivery. It is located close to the lake and it only takes less then 10 minutes to walk there. Our room was spotless, the air conditioner worked and our floor was quiet. We look forward to our next stay.

The furniture in room is worn out, stained, doors on unit to fridge are about to fall off, headboard is stained , cobwebs on walls and ceilings, bathtub is stained, chipped, dirty, wall papers peeling off. Funky smell in elevator, needs a refurbishment and deep clean!

Stay away...old, dark, dingy, poor layout, and failing. In short, this hotel is in need of a complete make over (noting they have had the pool in reno for a number of months and reported to start on the rooms) While the rates charged may catch your eye (and somewhat compensate for the experience), this is NOT what you expect from the Sandman brand. Respectfully, the owners need think of closing until renos compete .. again just not up to Sandman standards Too many other places in Pentiction.. off the list for now.

We have stayed at this location of Sandman many times and have always been very satisfied. We always book a Queen Kitchenette suite as we sometimes like to prepare our own meals. If we need an early check in, they always accommodate us. Service at front desk excellent. This place is getting old and could use a bit of up dating, but other then that, no complaints.

Physical observations: some carpet needs replacing, some trim banged up and a couple elevator buttons look broken and dirty to the point where one may cringe to select a certain floor. Some hallways have a bit of a “musty” smell. I notice automatic scent dispensers are installed, likely to mask that issue. Pool was out of order during our stay. On the plus side, a maintenance person was fixing some wall paper corner protectors. The location is central to attractions with shops/ restaurants and the beach mostly within a 10-15 minute walk. Don’t be afraid to try the electric scooters stationed by a scooter rental company outside. Download the app. They are easy to ride and can turn the 10-15 minute walk into a 5 minute ride to get anywhere downtown. And they are not just for “young people”. Upon arrival, we didn’t get any of our loyalty program “perks”. When I mentioned this to another clerk the next day, she was quick to fix us up. Another day, we called service for more coffee. The next morning, we called to remind them of the previous days request. We had a staff member quickly fix that up after the second call. It seems some staff are quick to fix things up while others are quick to forget. Not sure if it’s lack of individual staff training, attention or motivation. I would ask that they upgrade the toilet paper. This hotel, like most now, seem to be opting for the cheap and recycled paper TP. My only ask is that this hotel use something better than what they are using now. Honestly, it’s a slight step up from that brown countertop dispensed napkin you find at diners, almost feels like thin newspaper. If you have butt issues, you better bring your own TP. Breakfast in the attached Denny’s restaurant is what you would expect. Get just about anything you want… quality is good and consistent. Overall, this was an average experience as I was in a vacation mood and didn’t want to whine or complain. The manager seems approachable but, again, I didn’t want to complain during vacation. Like many businesses, some staff are above average and some are not. But staff generally need to be more responsive to customers. On a final note, this stay made me question why being a “diamond member” of their loyalty program really means anything.

Hotel could use a bit of an update but from this i heard i think some renovations were going on when I was staying there. Staff very nice and helpful, rooms clean. Free parking. Rooms nice enough and clean. Good location for stop on the way. I was there only for one night so didn't explore much.

Estelle is absolutely amazing. So accommodating. I called with only three weeks before staying and she was able to accommodate our stay. She has been absolutely wonderful this entire stay. The rooms have been nicely updated and the pool is very clean. This hotel has a wonderful courtyard with bbqs and some nice shaded areas. I have been to this hotel many times and will definitely be back! Thanks again for the great stay! Pam!!

Our recent stay at the Sandman was excellent. Our room was ready early and our requests were met. Our room was spotless and had everything we needed for our stay. The hotel staff was friendly and personable. The hotel has also added a coffee/ tea self service area as well as a water machine. Jenn and her team always said hello as we passed through reception. This was our third time staying at the Sandman. We love the location as it is walkable to the beach, restaurants and off course Lickity Splitz. It is also close to the Hwy which is very convenient. We will continue to choose to stay at the Sandman when ever we visit Penticton. As other reviews have stated it is an older hotel but as I've said in my review it is clean and the staff are always working hard to keep it that way.

This hotel is looking very tired. I believe there are some renovations of the rooms going on. Our room was dark and noisy. It overlooked an indoor swimming pool which accounted for the room being dark, and at the time of our visit it was an unsightly building site. All the aircon unit fans discharged into this space which made it very noisy at night. Some of our group had to change rooms because of it, and when the booking was made, our tour manager was not told about these renovations. The aircon unit in our room was very noisy. The bathroom was small, the plug in the wash basin was broken and the universal plug they supplied did not fit properly, the shower was over the bath and there were no grab rails at all. Its saving grace was its location, as it was within a very pleasant walk to the shore front with its beach and restaurants. Until this hotel is completely renovated I would not recommend it.
