This motel is a hidden gem From the friendly greeting in the office to the well manicured grounds We had a suite with king bed Room was small but well equipped Enough towels and soap Just need to ask if you want more Pool was nice and warm and clean We will definitely return
Have stayed at the Valley Star numerous times over the year's. It's a clean, well maintained motel that is is modernly updated. Beautiful courtyard and pool to relax by. Minutes walking distance from the Beach. Good restaurants and amenities in the area. The staff are friendly & helpful. Would recommend this place to anyone. Rick..
I stayed in a room here for about 3 months (during the off-season) while in Penticton for an internship, and can’t say enough good things! The motel is very well-maintained, quiet, and in a great location. The room was clean and comfortable, with a well-stocked kitchen and plenty of storage space that was ideal for my longer-term stay. The owners are an incredibly friendly and helpful family, and were always available when I needed anything. I can’t wait to stay here again the next time I visit Penticton!
We were very impressed with this motel. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and had ample space and storage for 5 people. The kitchenette was fully stocked (from scissors to toaster to pots/pans). There are two gazebos in the small courtyard that were perfect for outdoor eating and each room has its own private patio with small table and chairs. We were also very impressed with the friendly and helpful family who operates the motel. It was the little things, like showing us around the room when we first arrived, that added to our experience. It is one block away from the beach, a large park, tennis courts, and several playgrounds. We will be booking here again for sure!
Thank you Valley Star for making my stay's so cozy and peaceful. On each visit I have enjoyed walking into a lit warm clean room after a day of work. My room had the most beautiful bed to get a good rest in. The bath tub was awesome to soak in. Each visit has been very quiet. The owners are so kind and friendly. I look forward to returning. Thank you again to Valley Star Staff.
We meet up with friends in Penticton and our first stay at the Valley Star. We were greeted by a cheerful lady when we pulled in. Nice clean lot and lawn areas. We were early and she asked us to go for lunch and come back. Which we did, no problem. Arrived back and room 16 was ready. Loved that it had a little bed in the living room, I snore so wife gets a break, LOL. Place was nice , fairly clean and laid out well. The king bed was super comfy as was the day bed in the living room area. Pillows where a bit weird but were pillow snobs so no fault. However I was washing some fruit in the kitchen sink and I removed my wedding ring to dry off my hands and it slipped of the countertop and under the fridge. This is were I got a bit of a shock. The fridge had not been pulled out for some time from what I seen when I went down to get my ring. Not the best housekeeping practices in my opinion. I didn't tell my wife about it, but she noticed herself the next day just from siting at the table. All and all it was a pretty good place to stay but the rates are a tad high in our opinion. We did enjoy the BBQ on site and the great seating areas, as well as the pool. Our friends stayed in 17 , same lay out and room. Their room was absolutely spotless, freshly painted and super clean. So hopefully ours was waiting for a freshen up? Would we stay again? Not sure depends on rates and if we could return to our original Penticton Motel. VS will not disappoint you though, I'm sure.…
We’re so fortunate to have stayed another year at Valley Star. The staff are like friends that we visit annually. Rooms are clean and beautiful. Skaha Lake is within walking distance as well as many lovely restaurants. You can also make your own meals at their central bbq and/or the room kitchen. Love this place!!
I recently stayed at the Valley Star Motel for a couple of nights. I used to stay there regularly each summer with my 3 children but hadn't been back for about 16 years. I was pleased to discover that the same lovely family runs this motel and was amazed when Bimla remembered me from so many years ago. The motel has been beautifully updated and maintained. My room was spotlessly clean and my bed was very comfortable and made up with quality linens. The outside areas are also clean and carefully manicured. I was greeted and treated with warmth and courtesy - it was altogether a lovely experience and stay. I highly recommend the Valley Star Motel and plan to return again in the future.
I travelled 9 hours to arrive to this very small family run hotel. Upon my initial reservation I was told that I could bring my puppy for an additional $10/night. When I arrived the lady owner called me a liar and said that she didn’t tell me I could bring my pet and changed my nightly rate to $20 more per night. She spoke to me like I was a kid, not a 50 year old grown woman. I even gave her details about our conversation but she wouldn’t listen. She also said no smoking was allowed on the green space. I guess it was just us because I have a video of other guests smoking. Needless to say we only stayed 1 night and cancelled the rest of our stay. We will never return to this hotel. The room was small and the bed squeaked. Also the management watches everything the guests do which is creepy.…
We booked well in advance, not sure how the pandemic would effect summer travel within the province. Fortunately things are going well in BC and we were able to head for the Okanagan. The Valley Star is an old school motel, nicely updated and well maintained. Our room was small, as expected, but we were here for the beaches and wineries. Walking distance to Skaha Lake. The outdoor pool was open and was a very refreshing respite from the intense heat that arrived the week we were here. Best of all is the outdoor common area with lots of chairs and tables for morning coffees and evening adult beverages. Staff were excellent, very responsive to our questions and requests, and all involved in keeping common areas thoroughly clean.
