We come yearly as a family and some nights with both our parents for relaxation and all the activities Penticton has to offer. We call it our “Mini Mexico” bec normally there is drink and meal service around the refreshing pool, beach and heat. We just love it.

During Covid we weren’t sure what to expect just thankful to get away close by to home in Abbotsford.

We still had food service, just in take out containers that we picked up from the restaurant. There was less chairs with spacing around the pool so less crowded which was great and our room was as usual exceptionally clean. Lots of stations for hand sanitizing and spray bottles to clean lounge chairs. We picked up fresh towels from the front desk whenever we needed it and housekeeping replaced our garbage outside our door promptly in the mornings when I put it out before breakfast and gave us anything else we needed.

We used the bbq’s for most lunches and dinner ordering a side salad or basket of fries from the restaurant on site.

All the staff interactions from the moment we checked in until we checked out were so friendly, kind and helpful. This is not always a common occurrence when travelling so we were so thankful.

Can’t wait to come back!

We truly appreciate you taking the time to write such a kind and wonderful review from your recent stay. It's a stressful and unusual time for everyone during COVID-19 right now so it's nice to read when our guests are still able to get away and enjoy a vacation close to home while still feeling welcomed and safe. Our guest safety is one of our top priorities, so we want to make sure that everyone staying with us feels safe and looked after. Thank you for choosing to come back year after year with your family. I'm glad we're able to make it feel like a "mini Mexico". We can't wait to welcome you and the family back again soon!

There are several buildings of which of have to open doors to enter, there were only sanitizing stations in the lobby, elevator and at the pool. But even when you go to the pool, you have to lift a handle to exit, then where I stayed there were 2 doors to have to go through and no sanitizing station at either door. In this time of Covid, there should definitely be more sanitizers available to guests, so that guests are not bringing other people's germs into the room. It was about a 15 min walk to the beach which is nice, and close to Denny's and A&W. The balcony on the room was a nice feature

Thank you for providing us with your review and feedback from your recent stay with us at the Penticton Ramada. Your feedback is incredibly important and valuable to us. We took the necessary steps and added additional sanitizing stations to all the exits at the pool and at all common area door exits on property. Our guests safety is a top priority to us, so if there are areas in which we can improve upon this then we would love to hear about it. Thank you again for this feedback and we hope to welcome you back again soon!

Overall a great facility with nice rooms and helpful staff. The restaurant is great but not open for breakfast. That was okay as we went to the Bear’s Den for that.

The hotel was a little pricey, but I wouldn’t say overpriced as most hotels in Penticton are around the same price. My only complaint is the free wifi. The wifi was slow, so slow you couldn’t stream Netflix on your phone. That was a bit frustrating.

The property has got good access to Stabucks, Tim Hortons, groceries, and fast food right across the street which you can walk to.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this property was given my last experience at a Ramada (Victoria BC), which was terrible.

I will stay here again and would recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

My experiences at this hotel have been exceptional. I have stayed at this hotel for years, multiple times per year throughout the past 5 summers. My stays included my immediate family of 7, as well as with extended family that stayed at the same time. Rylen the manager went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and room configurations to make our stay with family easy. I have twin one year old sons and he custom suited the rooms to have play pens and diaper garbage specific cans ready for my arrival. This made my stay so much easier with the twins, which made my vacation more rested. I highly recommend this hotel for travellers and families

Stayed on 2nd floor with 2 queen beds. Hotel was very clean and all staff were friendly. The balcony could use an extra chair. We had 2 but for a family of 4 it did not work out. We did take out food a couple of times and we had to drag out a chair from inside.

We were in Penticton when it was 43 degrees and hot and therefore the pool side bar was not open every day. However you could walk over to the pub and get what you needed. The air conditioning was great and kept us cool.

The pool was decent. There was a sanitizer bottle and paper towels to wipe down after you left but no one did this. This could be a suggestion for a staff member to do a quick clean every couple of hours as clearly people are too lazy to do it or are thinking COVID has gone away.

They had a number to text if you required anything for your room which we used 2 times to get towels. It was very efficient. When we were there there was no housekeeping service but this may have changed since BC also changed restrictions.

Overall a pleasant surprise. We usually stay in summerland on the lake so we missed our view but we would stay here again in future for a short visit.

Thank you for all your positive feedback and suggestions. I completely agree about the extra chairs on the balcony. If you stay with us again, please feel free to text us and we would be more than happy to bring you some extra chairs for your patio or balcony while you are staying with us. We just implemented this texting service, so it's nice to hear the positive feedback about it! As sad as I'm sure you were about not being able to stay in Summerland on the lake, we're glad it brought us to you and you were able to see what we have to offer. We would love to see you again soon! Have a great summer!

We had a comfortable second floor room with balcony. The complex is just the right size for convenience and accessibility. The outdoor, shaped, medium-sized, swimming pool was fine for relaxing in but not suitable for length swimming. The hot tub was in a covered area, within the fenced off pool area. We were concerned when the Checkin concierge told the couple in front of us that the pool was going to be closed for the season on labour day (the day after we arrived); however it remained open during the remainder of our stay after labour day.

The hotel’s rooms are in the process of being renovated, with the interiors being completed first and the exteriors progressively. One problem that could/should be addressed in the renovations is to replace the toilets: they are incredibly low and almost impossible for inflexible seniors to sit on and, worse still, to get up off.

Housekeeping services were restricted to every other day.

Another concern for us was that the on-site pub would be closed on labour day due to staffing problems: the pub is the only place on site to get food. Breakfast was not included, and the pub is not open for breakfast. I think that at the hotel’s room rates breakfast should be included and that the hotel needs to implement a breakfast room facility (and not rely on the pub). We also overheard the concierge tell the other couple that the pub might not be open the day after labour day; as it turned out, it was. The staff in the pub were very friendly and attentive when serving us - kudos to them!

We will definitely stay at the hotel again in the future when in Penticton.

Stayed for two days with our dog. The room was clean and well maintained. We loved the ground floor room with small patio out back. Smart having the key card lock on the patio door. Pool was a great temperature and staff were cleaning the common surfaces frequently. Walls are thin so you could hear other guests speaking.

Had a great stay at the Ramada Penticton. The hotel is always so clean and they will make sure you have anything you want in your room to make your stay more pleasurable. There were still a lot of kids there with it being the long weekend but the hot tub and pool were great and it’s always like being in a resort

In a word; Great.

Beautiful grounds.
Excellent staff.
Room with refrigerator, private balcony, superior bed & high-quality linens. Coffee maker is a K-cup with quality Timmies cups. Two actual stem less wine glasses provided. Stoneware coffee cups would have been nice but the paper ones worked.
Bath has soft, high-quality towels, plenty of water pressure.
WiFi is fast but uses a proxy server, meaning you cannot use it with some devices. It will work for sll phones, tablets & laptops. Connected devices, such as my Garmin Zumo GPS receiver will not work.

Negatives
The air cooler in our room did not work and after two days the staff had not managed to fix it. It was cool outside but leaving our patio door open invited bugs.

I would stay again but I'd insist they make the air cooler work.

Using covid as an excuse to save on service and cleanliness is unacceptable. Telling customers to call front desk for services or clean towels or garbage removal is terrible . They could simply post a employee on each floor who can exchange and help customers with towels ,garbage removal, toiletries. When you pay 200 a night and get nothing it's abysmal. Garbage was being dumped in garage bin and wasn't cleared for days . Sanitizer pump in lobby empty for 5 days . I even left it open so they could see . Nothing . It was shut and left empty . Worst hotel experience in 56 years on this planet.

Hotwire today is saying $103 night for Nov 15th. Price could drop further as you get closer to the date. I do agree that the tower is likely the quietest place in the development, which is large. This time of year, its all quiet though. A ground floor unit facing into the centre courtyard would be my choice. Take a look at both before you choose at the desk. They're very helpful and accommodating.

Thank you for your question. We have 24 hour coverage. I believe your email says you may be arriving sometime around 12:30pm after driving all night. If we have one of your room types available - we will certainly get you in it right away - I know after a long drive, I'd hate to wait another 3 hours to get into the room! Safe driving!
