We had a wonderful time staying here! Very quiet room, amazing hot breakfast included, lovely pool and hot tub, great location and super friendly staff! Highly recommend and very clean. There was also ample outside parking with CCTV monitoring.

We stopped in Penticton for one night, and preferring the Marriott brand, this hotel was the only choice. This was my first stay at this specific property, but I’ve been to a number of Fairfield properties before and this one fits the standard feel. We checked in at the regular time, and it wasn’t busy. We were assigned our room , got our keys and headed to our room. Room is a decent size, and looks very much like any recently renovated Fairfield. Beds are OK and WiFi was fine. I found the AC didn’t work great. The main AC unit has a label stating to use the thermostat to control. I was quite patient tinkering with different settings, but the base unit never seemed to respond. I was better off making adjustments directly on the AC unit. Breakfast is limited, but sufficient to fill up a family with little fuss. I used the gym. It’s quite small with 5 cardio machines and some free weights. There’s not much in the immediate area, other than the casino and convention centre across the street. It’s about a 15 min walk to the restaurants along Main Street and 20 min walk to the lakefront. Our stay was fine. It met our needs. Quite expensive for a Fairfield, but it’s more of a reflection of the market rates in Penticton in the summer than the hotel itself.

We stayed for 6 nights and found all the staff to be helpful and accommodating to our needs - especially Colleen. The breakfast, although not first class, included something for everyone and we always appreciate not having to buy it. The rooms were very nice to spend time, as well as clean. We would stay there again.

Not impressed. Disappointed it such a high end hotel having serious guest issues. We took our elderly father to see his family. Only hotel available in area so had to pay ridiculously high prices for 2 suites, over $1500 for 3 nights!! Another incidental fee was added to each room, but not mentioned earlier. Yes it was clean but nothing special. Second day we were asked for our room number before we could sit for the free breakfast! Paper cups and wooden forks. Food was not good quality. Eggs were rubbery and pancakes the size of loonies. The booths have carpenter ants eating the wall. I was not given a receipt at check out and was told it would be emailed. Now I get home and find I was double charged! Call the front desk to be told someone else is listed having one of the suites we were in! Totally oblivious! I was told I can send an email and they will look into it! Ask to speak to a manger and get voice mail. Not only will we not stay again but will let everyone else know, pick another hotel! This place needs to do some training and some knowledge about customer service.

New hotel, nice walk to downtown or the lake. Great bed, clean, lovely patterned roll down privacy blinds and black out curtains. Gracious staff, helpful, lots of parking, quiet. Breakfast included, standard Marriott fare with decent coffee. Easy check in and out, showed fully booked on website but they had a room available when we stopped by.

Great hotel!! We were driving Camaros down at Area 27 in Oliver, 40 minutes south of Penticton, and this hotel was the perfect place to act as our base. Plenty of restaurants near by, including a casino across the road where your room key can get you discounts on food there. Hotel itself was clean, big comfortable room. Very nice bed and all the usual conveniences: coffee maker, safe, hair dryer, fridge, tv. Hotel has a pool and hot tub. Free daily breakfast. Hotel is right in the Okanagan valley so beautiful area for hiking, lakes, biking etc. Great place to stay!!

Wow, so super loud in the pool area! Just wanted to relax and use hot tub! NOT hotel's fault on very selfish guests but wow is what I can say as these kids were loudest ever of all time anywhere and the parents tonight, (hope they see this!), cared zero on anyone else like me in the pool area! Guests like them are the factors and culprits on what make hotels so expensive as they as well let their one kid just let the shower water run forever after not using it anymore. Just so stupid, just so oblivious to the world and wasteful! I still tried to use the hot tub even though so super loud in there but the jets were just barely ok. Was not a good experience at all and I left more stressed than when I arrived in there to just use a hot tub I planned to use in the first place on my booking made. Room though is clean and hope it is quiet the rest of the time and will maybe try to use the hot tub again in peace in the early am. Hope those awful parents are not up early!!!, and not back in the pool area! Feb 12th/23

Response from Svitlana Shkyn, General Manager at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Penticton
Responded Feb 18, 2023
Dear NolPKelowna, Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us. In your comments, you mentioned that your stay was interrupted by a loud disturbance caused by families with kids. My hope is that all our guests experience a relaxing and peaceful stay, and I am very sorry that this wasn’t your experience. We are a family friendly hotel, so on a busy night pool could be quite noisy. Please stay assured , I spoke to the team and we will supervise the pool better in the future. It was a pleasure to have you as our guest, and I hope you give us an opportunity in hosting you again, whenever your travels bring you back to the area. Sincerely, Svitlana Shkyn General Manager Fairfiled Inn & Suites by Marriott Penticton svitlana.shkyn@marriott.com 2364220821

This has always been one of my favourite hotels to visit. This past week,I had the most disturbing experience ever. My reservation was for Friday( today) , January 27th, and on Wednesday( 25th) morning I watched the weather forecast for freezing rain and sudden cold temperatures which made travel concerning. I cancelled my reservation early Wednesday morning online, and called the hotel with another question , and spoke with a very amazing lady that we always interact with… I had a pet fee question, and mentioned we had cancelled our reservation online due to weather concerns coming late Friday, and asked her if she saw this cancellation online, and she confirmed…. No problem at all and no mention of cancellation fee. I received a cancellation email and again no mention of cancellation fee. So, naturally I was not at all concerned. This evening I noticed a full charge on my credit card. I called the hotel , and was entirely blindsided…. Rude, curt , impatient ( my daughter overheard the whole conversation and couldn’t believe how rude the gentleman was). I then received an email from a lady with no title saying that I was charged a cancellation fee ( full hotel charge), and the invoice with guest room cancellation charges were attached. I was never given this invoice when I emailed the cancellation, just a cancellation confirmation number with no details and no charges, and when I called that morning and expressed why we had cancelled, no problem then either, just apparent understanding, and no apparent issues at all- no cancellation charges were mentioned at this time either. In past I have cancelled at this exact hotel 24 hours before and so assumed this was ample time. Felt entirely blindsided, treated in a very sneaky and deceitful manner. Never expected this at all. So far, no resolution and no understanding whatsoever. We won’t be returning. An absolutely disturbing experience. I wouldn’t treat anyone in this manner, especially a regular customer.

Starting at $126 / night for a basic room this is the worst hotel experience of my life, and I’ve stayed at everything from $400+/night 4 stars to seedy downtown Detroit slum motels for $50/night. The only positive I can give them is cleanliness (no complaints in that department). For the rest, I’ll start by noting this place is less than 3 years old.. Zero sound insulation between suites. Zero heat insulation from outside. No hot water for shower. No night staff on duty. They advertise a hot breakfast but there’s only cereal and muffins. Mediocre coffee that never gets freshened. Basic housekeeping requires a special request. Unreliable wifi (that inundates you with copious advertising to access). I was here for business so my stay cost me personally nothing and I STILL feel ripped off. So bad that the entire Marriott chain won’t see my own personal patronage again. Stay away.

It's great that Penticton now has a name-brand hotel, and it's a Marriott/Bonvoy property! The location is good, just a short walk to the municipal recreation facility, convention center, casino and a slightly longer walk to the beach. There's a convenience store and white spot takeout across the street as well. on my recent stay I was upgraded to room 416 for three nights, a large room that faces a green field with a view of the mountains beyond. The room design is great, except for LED lights on the wall that are glaring at eye-level, but during a video call I realized that may be intentional because they provide good lighting when you're on camera :). Note that there is no room safe and the breakfast is meh, but that's unfortunately common for Fairfield inns. Overall a great stay!
