We booked this place based on the great reviews we had read, but were a little uncertain when we arrived. It is located off of a fairly busy road leaving Penticton, and the family suite we booked was definitely smaller than we expected. However our impressions of Lakeside improved quickly once we started our stay. Although the unit was on the small side it was extremely clean, and fairly well equipped with the kitchenette. The beach access was great. There is an underpass pedestrian walkway 30 seconds from the motel, with access to a private beach on the north side of Skaha Lake. Good sand, not crowded. The motel is also right next door to a cool little restaurant called The Wienery, which serves delicious gourmet hot dogs and nice drinks on a patio looking out at the lake, and is run by two of the nicest people you will ever meet. And a few steps further down the lane is Second Scoop, the top rated ice cream joint in Penticton. Really good! And the motel is pretty conveniently located overall...just a few minutes to get to downtown Penticton, the main beach on south Okanagan Lake, etc. The motel also has a nice little shared green space at the back of the property with bbqs, picnic benches, a swing, etc. Nice little spot for outdoor meals. But perhaps one of the best parts about Lakeside is the great customer service of the manager, Brandon. He noticed we arrived with bikes and offered to lock them up in the shed without us even asking, which was really convenient. And whenever we needed anything, from bbq tools to supplies etc, he was quick to respond and super helpful. Overall, a nice little place where we would definitely stay again. …
My wife didn't think much of the motel as we pulled into it on our arrival, based on its blue-green paint job—but I assured her that guest reviews of the place were mostly very complimentary. Once we entered our room, we understood why: the room was in fact a small suite, with a living room, full kitchen (with full-sized stainless steel fridge, and an electric ring stove-oven in immaculate condition, sink, cupboards, and the usual complement of dishes and cutlery. We may have been particularly lucky, because our unit was ground floor, with its own little grassed yard and bench... The air-conditioning (essential in this part of the world, in summer) is effective and not overly noisy. The shower works well; the bath and bath sink are easily plugged (it's amazing how many places don't get that little detail right), and hot water is hot, and quickly (ditto). Wi-Fi is a little on the slow side, but reliable. The bed was comfortable, and the demountable clothes hanging and storage unit perfectly adequate. The easy access to the private Skaka Lake beach across the road (though the pedestrian underpass) is a big bonus. Last but not least, Brandon, the manager, was on hand and reachable at all times, and very quick in attending to any problem or question we had. All in all, Lakeside Villas and Suites shows how a motel can and should be run, and it's our new go-to place to stay whenever we visit the area in future.…
Pride of ownership visible. Well maintained, friendly staff and manager. Got exactly what they promised. Would stay here again. Air conditioning worked well and full size appliances were all relatively new. Good parking and kids loved private beach.
So clean and well maintained Excellent location Owners were expectional to All our needs Will definitely be back and stay here again it was everything we needed plus more. Cutest backyard area for guests to use with bbqs and a private beach right across the street
We stayed at Lakeside Villas for 4 nights/5 days in Aug 2021. My boyfriend and our kids 13 & 15 and 6 all loved our stay! We booked the deluxe family suite (unit #13) and had two queen beds (one in a private bedroom) and a sofa and a full kitchen with full size appliances and it suited us perfectly! The beds were insanely comfortable, I never wanted to go home. The shower pressure and temperatures were great for my long thick hair as well. We couldn't ask for more. The location is across from the Skaha Lake with access thru a tunnel and the beach is not over populated and very relaxed. We prefer the Skaha over the OK Lake for the laid back vibes. The water is warm and there is ice cream shops and picnic tables for everyone to use. The owners are very friendly and offer everything you need for a wonderful stay. My boyfriend dropped me and the kids and our floaties at the top of the canal and Brandon drove him back up so we could float down without leaving our truck. Once we floated to the bottom, we ended in the lake and walked the beach shore back to the hotel. It was absolutely perfect. Our only complaint is we didn't book a longer stay. We will be booking again year after year as this is our new fave vacation spot in the interior! Thanks Lakeside Villas and keep up the wonderful hospitality! See you next summer!…
We loved our stay here. The lake access with private beach across the road (access via an underpass) was perfect and the yard with bbq's was a beautiful spot for morning coffee, to make dinner in at night and the kids to play in. The rooms were nice, very clean and the kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, even providing a shuttle for us to get to the top of the river channel (it's a 5 min walk back to the hotel via the beach - accessed though another underpass at the bottom of the channel). Would definitely stay here again.
I have never had such a great experience at a Motel before, we stayed there a year ago and it was great however this experience was even better. Unfortunately I booked the wrong dates we arrived a day early, this was 100% my fault. They managed to find us a room for the 1 night, they were so accommodating and so nice to us, I felt like family. If you go to Penticton please stay here, you won't get better service and a friendlier staff.
This little hotel is a hidden gem just across the street from Skaha lake. There is access to a beautiful and quiet private beach that is just a two minutes by foot. Great place for a family! We used the outdoor cooking area and enjoyed a wonderful dinner - great idea! The owners were incredibly sweet and understanding when we had a surprise guest visit and they really made us feel welcome. Would highly recommend!
We loved our visit here. The owners are friendly and accommodating, the rooms are well-appointed with a BBQ and picnic area available for guests. Private beach access just across the road makes this a gem of the Okanagan. Highly recommend.
Have stayed here for a bunch of nights, location is perfect and the rooms are very clean and updated, separate bedroom from the living space, fully functioning kitchen is outstanding as well! Honestly can not say one bad thing, great room for the price
