Although the campground is new, we were impressed with the owner! She went out of her way to give information and help us out. The little store had basics at a good price and most sites had a decent amount of trees. We had a ‘super site’ which was fully treed but no services. There are no sites with electricity and wifi was spotty other than by the office. Most sites had water and sewer though. The port-a-potty toilet was very clean, even if the door was hard to close. It’s not on the lake, but across the street and a short drive. The beach is gorgeous! We’d visit again for sure!
We stayed here for a month while visiting our daughter in Prince George. Wendy is friendly and helpful and will do anything to make sure you are comfortable at her campsite. We were in our RV and had full hook ups and access to internet, we were happy campers. This is a new campsite and the sites are very large, the one we were in was very private Westwood lake is just a short drive down the road. Beautiful large lake with a roped off area to swim, picnic tables, grassy area and a boat launch The campsite is only 17 km from the University area where there are loads of stores for shopping including Walmart, Save On Foods, Canadian Tire and Shoppers Drug Mart just to name a few. There are lots of restaurants and gas stations too. We would highly recommend West Lake Campground for those who want a quiet back to nature camping experience with the luxury of full ups. We will stay here again.…
We stayed at Westlake for 2 nights in July 2018. Wendy is absolutely amazing - so friendly and welcoming. Her kids and helpers personally delivered purchased firewood to our site, they brought bags of popcorn out to us, checked on the wifi signal (which she said was fairly new), and thanked us multiple times for booking and staying at their site. Would absolutely stay there again. Downside, it is quite close to the road so with noisy trucks and motorcycles whizzing by it can be quite loud, and if you have two groups travelling together with trailers, the set up for the fully service sites forces you to have your doors on opposite sides - which is not a big deal at all, just a tiny inconvenience. If you are travelling alone it is perfect and gives each site a great amount of privacy. Go see Wendy at Westlake! You won't be disappointed!…
If you are into luxury camping, this is not the place so keep on trucking. But, if you are into basic camping at a low price, this is your place. The owner, Wendy, is a wonderful person. She is currently accommodating a bunch of Williams Lake fire evacuees at no cost. She is even bringing in a band tonight to spread a little joy and companionship for these displaced and distressed souls. The world needs more people like her and we should support her for her efforts. The campground is rough. Wendy has cut the pads herself with an old front-loader. There is water and sewer but no electrical. She plans to add that as soon as she has the funding. The sites are a nice size but still close together. Surrounded by native vegetation, there was a profusion of wild flowers on our visit. The bottom line here is that I paid $20 for a no hook-up site to a young woman that has a heart of gold and a smile to light up the world.…
The Owner is fantastic, incredibly friendly, accommodating and conscientious. Campsites are a good size. I thought the road noise would be bad, but not at all. Hopefully next time we come, they will have a few more full service site. Over all excellent start for their first year. Highly recommend!!
