I thought this was one of the friendliest and most accomodating Bed & Breakfasts my husband and I have ever stayed in.
We could have our dog with us and had a very quiet, private room. Although I am quite picky, I had such choices for breakfast! And my hubby never eats breakfast,...usually... he sure gobbled all of this host's beautiful spread down! lol
I wish we lived closer so that I could visit this B&B again sooner!

My stay at Mead Manor was truly one of the nicest B&B I have ever stayed at! Lovely home, breakfast laid out in a beautiful sunroom that overlooks a gorgeous, peaceful garden, & Laura is a a very gracious host! The room is very spacious, nicely decorated, and a very comfy bed. There's a variety of gourmet breakfast offerings to choose from. I would definately recommend this to anyone. Nicely located off Hwy 16.

My wife had an appointment at the hospital as we are from out of town. The room was fairly clean, we both found the bed on the firm side. All in all was OK until breakfast. We felt like we were in a weight watchers meeting. We had a few choices for breakfast, we opted for waffles.
The setting for beakfast was in a sun room overlooking the backyard, which was nice.
However breakfast consisted of a small glass containing some previosly frozen fruits and berries which was nice aside from the brown sugar all over the dish?
When the two waffles came after we thought we might get asked if we would like anymore, but were given the bill. Then asked if we were paying cash or check, ( never told on the phone that we had to bring cash, and we dont use checks).
I gave a M/C which was overheard snickering by a man in the background eating his breakfast ( presumed Husband) we will have to take the hit on this one? ( I'm presuming because they had to pay the 3 or 4% for a credit card.
All in all if you just need a place to sleep and don't care if you get a breakfast this might be a B&D for you. If you like to eat breakfast forget it!

Response from meadmanor, Owner at Mead Manor Bed & Breakfast
Responded Mar 23, 2011
Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay at Mead Manor B&B. I have been in business for over 20 years and pride myself on my generous and gourmet selection of breakfast offered to my guests. The guests enjoy the selection and the severing of breakfast in the breakfast sunroom. We are sorry the breakfast did not meet your expectation. I am a member of both Tourism BC and the BC Bed and Breakfast Innkeeper Guild. Both these organizations have guallity assurance programs and I have never had any complaints regarding the quality of our breakfast and accommodations.

We recently stayed for 3 nights at Mead Manor and Laura turned out to be the perfect host. Her beautiful house is in a quiet location. Our room was spacious and beautifully and interestingly decorated.
Laura has a lovely garden and seems to keep herself busy - she was making jam during our stay. We had some interesting discussions with her about farm life in Saskatchewan and also about Prince George. She was helpful in suggesting places to eat.
When we arrived we were presented with a breakfast menu to make our choices from for the next morning there were several choices - as we were there for 3 mornings we were able to sample a few. Fresh fruit, yogurt and fruit juice were served followed by your chosen dish of the day and coffee. All the dishes we tried were delicious and beautifully presented.
Laura is an extremely kind and generous host - your "Very Berry" jam made it back to England in our suitcase without and problem!! It is delicious,
I would recommend Mead Manor to anyone looking for somewwhere to stay in Prince George.

Had a fabulous four-night stay here. Nice menu for choosing breakfast. From standard bacon and eggs (any style), to fresh fruit, yogurt and homemade granola, there were several choices for breakfast. Minor drawback was the lack of unscented soap in bathrooms, and the scent-popping machine in the TV room. Hostess was great. Location is close to anything and breakfast is served in nice room with mega windows over looking tree-filled yard and gardens.

Having never been to Prince George before I was happy to find this B&B on the first try. I've been to many B&Bs before and Mead Manor ranks well and is very close to the west side of town where I was working. The breakfast atrium is great in the snowy winter and the sitting room with a fireplace is perfect to get comfy in. Laura was a wonderful host who went out of her way with breakfast (all of which are top notch) even when I slept in.

We actually live "in the area" but since it’s a long drive into town from our remotely-located home, we were looking for a B&B in Prince George where we can feel "at home." We had read about Mead Manor B&B and perused the great reviews--and after our recent stay, I can say they are well deserved.

Mead Manor is professionally run and it shows in the many "layers" of comfort you will experience. Everywhere you look, you’ll realize there’s something there with the guest in mind—whether an object of art, or of comfort—even down to a welcoming host of friendly bears occupying nooks and crannies! (Those of you who collect bears will especially appreciate them!) Our host, Laura, has more than 20 years’ experience as a B&B hostess and that becomes immediately apparent the moment you step into her home. You just know she enjoys what she does!

We stayed in the "green" room this time--next visit we'll be in the "pink" room downstairs (which was occupied during our stay).
The Green Room is well-appointed with its own 3/4 bath (a neo-angle shower is in a separate little area so the room with toilet and sink is accessible even if the shower is occupied). The room is quite large and welcoming with nice thick carpeting and a nicely decorated. There is a rocking chair that is quite comfortable.

The queen-size bed is also extremely comfortable. The mattress and bedding are high quality, as are the other linens and towels. Every toiletry item you might need is supplied. The room has a large flat-screen TV with excellent reception and many channels. The WiFi connection works well for those of us who need to keep in contact. There is a phone in the room. A nice window seat is located under the windows overlooking the neighborhood area (this B&B is located in a nice neighborhood and is centrally located). And it goes without saying--everything was absolutely sparkling clean--bath, bedroom, the common areas, entry, carpeting. No worries here...

As we were leaving (the other guest had checked out), we were able to have a look at the Pink Room in anticipation of our stay there. We note it is a little more private in that it has a separate entry. It also features a sitting area with a gas fireplace—a very nice area for relaxing and reading or watching TV. However, even without the amenity of the sitting room, we felt our stay in the Green Room was very nice. We felt it offered not only comfort, but privacy as well--even if it has no separate entry. Either room would be fine for us. Someone staying longer might want to request the Pink Room if it is available.

You’ll enjoy your breakfast! Laura is a gourmet cook—you’ll be offered a choice of what you’d like—from the gourmet to the standard bacon-eggs-toast variety—all perfection!

Breakfast is served in a beautiful setting--a sunroom that overlooks the very private back yard. Even though our visit was in the dead of winter, there was a beauty all of its own with the mounds of sparkling snow blanketing the flowerbeds with figurines and ornaments peeking through the snow drifts. We are anticipating visiting during the spring and summer to see the landscaping awaken!

Bottom line: Laura and her late husband created a special place and if one is addicted to B&B stays--you can do no better. If you’ve never stayed at a B&B—be prepared to be forever weaned from hotels and motels!

We stayed in Mead manor in Prince George in November 2011. My wife and I are hockey fans and we travel all over the province watching our Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
Laura is the gracious and most pleasant owner of Mead Manor. She greeted us warmly and immediately made us feel at home. Mead Manor is in a newer subdivision of the city and thus the home is modern and well appointed. The bedroom we had was large and the bed was most comfortable. We had a private entrance to our room, so we did not feel we were disrupting anyone else. In the large bathroom, there was also a jetted tub, which was great to soak in after the hockey game.
We also had access to an entertainment room, where there was a very large, probably 50 inch TV, There were movie CD's on the shelf to watch as well, and two comfortable recliners. We had access to a microwave and kettle as well.
For breakfast in the morning you are given a menu with 9 choices on it. We opted for a mixed fruit bowl as an appetizer. The main breakfast we chose was bacon, eggs, toast, coffee and juice. It was excellent.
Laura took the time to talk with us, and made us feel right at home. I would highly recommend Mead Manor to anyone travelling to Prince George.

My daughter and I were stranded after car troubles. We called up Mead Manor and she was so nice to put us up for the night even though she wasn’t really taking guests at the time. She was a great host and breakfast was awesome. Also great location.
