Pomeroy Prince George
Room 220 accessible room
Fire alarm has the illuminated light for hearing disabled
Lots of room for a powerchair to manoeuvre the entire room.
Single queen bed 23” high medium soft mattress and pillows. Clear under the bed for a floor lift
Bathroom shower , roll up from the main bathroom floor, about a 3” rise and in! 3’x5’ well set up for a shower commode or a portable transfer bench. No permanent bench in the shower. Has a wrap around grab bar.
Bathroom sink, good, roll under single lever faucet. Plenty of space for your essentials.
Toilet 15 1/2” high, way to low! Not ADA. Only one transfer bar on the wall side.
Light switches are all standard hight as is the thermostat control.
Entrance door heavy. “I couldn’t open it”
Carpet area is the typical low profile, a bit of a struggle to roll the floor lift around under load.
Small fridge and microwave large counter. Overall a pleasent hotel. A perfect Accessiblities needs room with a caregiver, depending on your needs, not so much for a solo stay. The sleeping area and bathroom in this room are a perfect location for an ARJO ceiling track in the bedroom and bathroom. This would in itself open up and separate this hotel chain from all others in Northern BC with accessible rooms to a niche market, even if only one room! We mentioned it to the check out clerk but he didn’t get it sadly, just a smile and a nod.
♿️ Parking is only 2 parking spots with generous space for side entry vehicles.
Pet friendly.
Nice relaxing lobby
Fitness centre
Pool with all the fun stuff for all ages.
Breakfast is good.
Easy access from Hwy 17/97, close to all city amenities.
5/5 is my score. Overall it met our expectations. To exceed consider adding the bedroom and bathroom ceiling tracks for a portable over head lift. Not a big expense for a chain hotel.

The room was very comfortable and modern, the lobby upon arrival was modern, and very well decorated. The front desk staff where not at the desk and we could hear some loud discussion behind the front wall, a person stuck their head around the wall and said they would be a minute. I thought this was very unprofessional. We did check in and took a look around. The breakfast area is large and was very clean. The next morning we ate at the breakfast area and it was very nice, great coffee and the orange juice was cold and good, there was lots of choices of things to eat. That evening we went to the pool/water slide area, there were NO towels even after we asked at the front desk NO towels were brought in. The next evening still NO towels, my husband went and asked again and he was told by the front desk clerk that he was the only there and didn’t have time. My husband insisted that towels be brought to the pool area only after insisting did some towels appear but not many. The next am upon check out we were asked how our stay was and when we shared the towel issue we were given many excuses why there were no towels. I believe management needs to be more involved in how things are run. Very unprofessional ppl at the front desk.

Thank You Kpbenisch for the feedback, we are aware of the towel issue in the pool , we have had a large number of guests using the pool, with checkouts we are finding sometimes up to 15 towels in 1 room, this is hard for the staff to keep replenishing this area. I have spoken to front desk and we will keep a reserve batch at the front desk going forward for our evening guests. Going forward this should not be an issue. We do appreciate the feedback on any area of the Hotel we can do better at. Happy New Years and we hope to see you again.

The customer service from the front desk was excellent. Breakfast was one of the best I have had. Aesthetically the hotel is very nice . The bed was too hard for my liking and apparently this is standard for all the beds. Based on all of this I would give the hotel 5 stars however based on their house keeping I would have given them 1 star, they got a 3 to meet in the middle. I had an extended stay at this hotel and the house keeping was terrible !! In 12 days my bedding was not changed, room was not vacuumed , 3 times it was not cleaned at all. I started leaving a note for house keeping asking them to do specific tasks, I did this for 4 days and every day the note was ignored. I spoke to the front desk on multiple occasions however house keeping did not change. I am still staying here longer and not looking forward to the rest of my stay.

My family visited for a birthday celebration - mainly for the waterpark which was a huge hit. Unfortunately we (all but my 3 yr old) were kept awake the entire night by an incessant loud whistling noise coming through what we expect was the AC unit or improperly sealed window. At 3 am, we went to the front desk to complain and express we didnt intend to pay full rate for a room in which we could not sleep. The night staff offered to come up and investigate. From the door he informed us the noise was coming from something outside - perhaps in the parking lot, and not the room or building itself. We insisted otherwise and after looking out the window himself was unable to identify any other source of sound. He advised he would let management know and a decision could be made re: a discount. Upon checkout, the front staff offered a dismal discount, and management was "unavailable" to speak to us as she was "busy in the breakfast area". Front desk staff advised being aware of the problem, and that maintenance needed to rectify the problem, though it required a portion of the wall to be opened, therefore a delay. I asked if rooms on lower floors also experienced the same problem or just the 4th floor. She said only that one room, and there had been previous complaints of the same nature. SO... the hotel is aware of the problem, and continues to rent the room out at full price, knowing about the horrendous noise. Front desk staff assured me that the manager would be calling me to rectify the situation and that I would not be charged for the room until such. Hours later, the same staff called to advise that the manager had left the hotel, and she will now be checking me out and putting the charge through to my credit card anyways. I expressed being dissatisfied. I was informed I can call the manager tomorrow if I wish to speak to someone about this still, but until then, I'll be charged and have a nice day. It was unacceptable to be placed in a room known to have an issue, and then to be left without opportunity to resolve it after the fact. Then worse that management was not available in person or on the phone, though I was assured I would receive a call shortly. Now I'm left with the project of tracking down the manager myself, a day later, after my card has already paid for the stay. I am very disappointed.

Thank You for the feedback on your stay with me, however I see this was posted before I called you back the afternoon as front desk thought I had left the building which I had not, I called you to discuss this issue and we did resolve the matter. We are looking forward to your next visit with us and will have the issue of the whistling noise looked at. Thank you for taking my call yesterday and sorry for the delay.

There’s been some big changes since the last time I stayed at the Pomeroy (Sept 2019) The cleanliness in the rooms and pool area are now filthy and lacking big time. From broken fixtures, tiles and dirt to hair and filth everywhere you look. I made the mistake of cleaning up something that spilled in the bathroom. The facecloth was almost black after one pass over the bathroom floor. Dirt and grime all over the stairs going up the stairs to the slides and the pool are was never cleaned during the 2.5 days we were there. The COVID-friendly continental breakfast was terrible, rotten fruit was offered and all the prepackaged cheap muffins and granola bars.

Decided to drive to PG specifically to spend time at this hotel for the waterslides. Called and booked over the phone, were told yes the pool is open.
At the hotel we were informed that pool time is limited 1 hour per family as maximum capacity is called at 20. No budging on that time. Checked multiple times and never close to 20 ppl, but was told that we had our turn already.
I would suggest to be more transparent about this practice as we drove 4hrs for 1 hr pool time. Kids are bummed out. We get co-vid but not businesses that try to pull one over on you for a quick buck.
Be aware the 1 hour pool time per family per day is not mentioned when you call to ask if the pool is open.

We have stayed at the Prince George location in the past and came back to stay again even though the cost was mich more and our son’s hockey team stayed else where (that was cheaper too) because our prior experience was great!! This time however we arrived right around check in time and there was 3 people waiting to check in, one in the process. We waited an hour to check in because they were apparently having issues with their system which we were only made aware of because the gentleman ahead of us made us aware of this. Within this hour of waiting to check in, the line up grew to about 10-15 families now waiting to check in and not once did the front desk staff communicate with any of us to let us know what was going on. There was no communication from the staff at all and definitely no smiles either. I suggested perhaps photocopying our ID’s and credit cards and pretty much got rolled eyes by the staff member (who were not wearing any name tags). Finally one of the staff decided to come up with a solution (YAY!) and had us fill out blank registration forms so we didn’t have to stand there for 2 hrs longer. They provided us keys, no apologies for the long wait, no welcome to the hotel information on the breakfast times etc. No 10% Montana restaurant discount card. Nothing. Literally no communication! I get computers crash but the staff could have done a much better job of customer service! An explanation, an apology or a SMILE goes a long way. To top off the stay, the pillows were poor, we had multiple long black hairs in our bathtub and Sunday at 8am in the pool there wasn’t a towel to be found! The only thing didn’t disappoint was the great breakfast!

Attend PGeorge for grandson's hockey tournament, and this is the hotel that the team stayed in. The rooms are nice, big and as advertised. The room service is only by call and not routine ... so take out your own garbage, and live with your supplied towels. Unfortunately found blood on the sheets on one of double beds. The hotel has posted signs that indicated as stated by the BC Gov't Prov. Health Order masks are mandatory. There was 2 children's birthday party's staying in the hotel and the breakfast room was were alarming, no masks, adults in bare feet. Also a large party of a religious sec had booked into the hotel, they did wear mask and moved freely around the lobby in total disregard for other guest. In attempting to contact the manager on our return to home they were unresponsive and did not return call. Their are very nice hotels in PGeorge which may be a better choice for your travel dollar.

I work away from home fairly regularly and usually choose to stay at the Pomeroy Prince George. It’s more expensive than other hotels in the area but it’s well maintained, staff are friendly and importantly they serve hot food for breakfast. I’m happy to pay more per night if I’m getting a good breakfast and that used to be the case.
For 4 mornings out of the last 5 the Pomeroy Prince George has been serving its guests Chicken Nuggets for breakfast!!
The first day I found it quite funny but after days 3 and 4 it dawned on me that I’m booked into this hotel for another 20 nights!!
You are being cheap Pomeroy Prince George and are cheating your customers sort this out!!! Please don’t tell me again that you have delivery issues.

Stayed here one night last weekend during snowmaggedon in -25 weather. This is my new favorite hotel in Prince George. Its brand new, very nice, rooms are cozy and the staff is friendly. Price was slightly higher than other comparable hotels in this town, but you get a continental breakfast with great coffee! I will stay here again as the location is great.
