As with other comments, my wife and I have stayed here many times over the past years and enjoyed our stays. This time was so different starting with our arrival at the front desk. Very unfriendly manager. room was only so-so and obviously no one paying any attention the parking lot garbage or 2 foot weeds growing alongside the buildings. Worst food and service in the restaurant that I have had for a long time. No stay here nor eat again. Turning into a dump. Was always a well run place.

We have been regular customers of this hotel for over 10 years. We have always had friendly service and have felt rooms are a good value. Our most recent stay was not so friendly. Upon our arrival front desk could not even muster a "hello" as we walked through the door, only spoke to us once we stated we had a reservation. Was shocked that price of room increased by $30. Since our stay less than a year ago.Once we checked into our room we noted that room not completely cleaned. Brought to front desk's attention. Front desk simply picked up phone called housekeeping and replied that housekeeping would come to room. Nothing else said. No apology nothing. Housekeeping came to room cleansed areas of concern apologized profusely. We feel disappointed with our service. We suspect new management? Most likely will not return. Also website not updated in room availability.

- located directly by the highway 97, gas station next to the hotel and the restaurant - room seems freshly renovated, was very clean and quiet - friendly and helpful staff in the office - you get a high value for the price - The first smell in the room was a little bit strange, but it was just the cleanser. Went away after some minutes with an open door

The Carmel Inn was such a good choice for us, including our cat. We just needed a place to sleep for the night as Prince George was our first stop and overnight stay on our journey to Alaska. We found our room to be clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and accomodating with our request for a room on the first floor. We would stay again if we ever get back that way.

This appears to be an older building, but we were pleasantly surprised that it was very nice. It was warm and cozy. It had everything we needed, and was clean with a hot shower. We would definitely stay again. The staff was friendly and efficient and answered any need we had. It was quiet and a great night's sleep.

What a great place clean ,friendly, and accommodating to the guests. As I am hard of hearing first impression is everything . She spoke in a clear loud enough voice. The room was clean ,tidy, and had a jacuzzi in it and it worked and the rate did not soak you. The area was quiet got a good nights rest. Can not say enough good things . Only one change the plug in for the block heater needs to be somewhere other than hanging from the ceiling, but hay there is one.

I stayed with Jess and Holly for a month and in leaving there, I felt like I was leaving home. They are great people to stay with and the rooms even though I was at a discounted rate were cleaned everyday. My kitchenette provided me with everything I needed to prepare full meals. If there was something I asked for whether it was the front desk or housekeeping, they went out of their way to accommodate me. The rooms have been recently renovated with comfortable beds and the best pillows ever. The room was very clean and coffee available in the room. Lots of towels hand towels and facecloths provided daily if I needed them. The air conditioning worked very well. They really are pet friendly and I already miss their little dog Hunter. The hotel is safe to stay as they walk the property all the time and have a great video surveillance system with large TV’s in the office area that they monitor. The hotel is right on the highway and shopping is very close. Stay at the Carmel Ann and enjoy a meal at the Carmel Restaurant. Great food with many choices of meals.

Easy to find and good basic hotel. Clean and room was spacious. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. But of an odd grease smell from the bathroom fan but other than that it was fine for a night.

I’ve been staying here every time I’ve come to Prince for 4 years. It has been going downhill, they don’t replace anything from what I have seen. Stayed here last night the bathtub was plugged in by the time I was done the shower it was half full of water. Got a new room today while having a shower the showerhead blew off smack me in the face with full pressure water. Took the showerhead to the office and the lady just blew it off and asked me what room it was. They were offered me another room nothing. Come back to my room got ready to go to sleep looked up and the fire alarm is hanging off the ceiling. Time to find a new hotel.

Ah, the Carmel Inn! It had been a good 16 years since I last patronized this property. Back then, the family and I were wrapping up a cross-province road trip. This time, we were again winding down our road trip adventure (the first in 10 years). In each instance, we opted to stay at the Carmel Inn – while passing through Prince George – because the location was convenient; the rooms were comfortable; and, in comparison to similar properties in town, the listed price offered excellent value for money. In short, even after such a lengthy gap between stays, we were not disappointed. In terms of location, the Carmel Inn is ideal. First, it’s just off Highway 97. This is good for a couple of reasons: 1) You don’t have to venture too far into bustling downtown PG if you don’t want to; and, 2) You’re within striking distance of numerous shops and services, including Treasure Cove Casino, Pine Centre Mall and the PG Playhouse. Additionally, there are a number of Asian-themed restaurants nearby if one doesn’t wish to travel too far beyond the motel grounds. Like all contemporary accommodations these days, the Carmel Inn contains a fair number of amenities and services: They have a generous meeting space available; generous free parking for standard-sized vehicles, big rigs and RVs; an on-site restaurant which serves up delicious family comfort foods (breakfast is quite tasty); and, of course, luggage storage at the front desk. The services aren’t quite as robust as, say, the big city, but they’re more than sufficient to meet customer needs. The rooms at the Carmel Inn have been updated and modernized since my last visit, which is a positive. Because we traveled as a family, we secured two rooms – a single Queen room and a Twin room. The rooms were cozy and contained everything we’ve come to expect of a contemporary motel: Flat screen LCD TV, mini fridge and free WiFi. Our rooms also came with lovely kitchenettes – a nice touch even though we didn’t use them. Most important, though, the beds were comfortable and provided for a good night’s rest – something essential after a long day on the road (and maybe a bit of late night time at the casino!). I think it’s fair to say the Carmel Inn lives up to its tagline: “Your home away from home.” Our accommodations were comfortable; the staff friendly; and the hotel grounds were clean (and safe). The following morning, we all enjoyed a nice home-style breakfast at the Carmel Restaurant before continuing on our way. Bravo, Carmel Inn!
