This facility is right downtown in a somewhat 'sketchy' part of town, hence a degree of hesitation in staying here. To my surprise, the room was freshly refurbished and clean. For what I paid; the value was outstanding. I've stayed in similar type rooms but paid a much higher price at hotels higher up on the food chain than 'Econo Lodge'. I'd recommend this hotel for those 'just passing through' - a decent place to sleep before you continue your journey.

My title says it all. :) they do offer breakfast for stay in guest, which you can choose 3 items from the given menu (coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cereals with milk, assorted bagels, 2 slices of toast bread, English muffin or assorted muffin). If need extra, guest may order other foods eg pancakes etc. Overall, the staff are friendly and no problem to stay in again. However I may suggest to not letting guest to smoke within the hotel property (including the corridor).

The rooms are spartan, but basic and usable; the surroundings, however, are not the most pleasant. Expect to find panhandlers, tweekers, druggies, all around, and they WILL approach you as you carry your luggage to the hotel. If that makes you uncomfortable, you may want to find a property further away from this part of town!

I stayed here for 5 nights, I had issues with my toilet and called the front desk, for a plunger. He sounded lazy and just said that there's no housekeepers on (it was night time), but no housekeepers came in the morning either. I was answered with a "I'll send it to your room" each time I asked for coffee. No towels either. I asked tge front desk for a towel multiple times, the girl barely got off of her seat to look for one, and just said I gotta use a hand towel to shower. I've worked in a hotel as a frint desk supervisor before, whoever trained this staff, perhaps should try get a job as a Urinal Cake Changer, or at least something like this, that's more relevant to their skills and personaliteis

Renovated room, clean and comfortable. Yes the area is stretchy but that’s not the fault of the hotel Durning the night a night clerk had to tell a homeless person to leave private property No damage was done to our car or room We didn’t feel threatened I feel very bad for the management and staff that deals with this constantly

DO NOT STAY AT THIS ECONO LODGE!
Horrible customer service, unsafe location, unsanitary room conditions, waiting on refund after not even staying.

After travelling 6 hrs, we had to stay in Prince George for a night and figured this was an easy and affordable option. We booked the reservation over the phone. (Econolodge never sent a confirmation booking email)
- There was a line-up of other patrons at the desk waiting to be helped but no one was there as the desk clerk was outside too busy having a smoke.
- When we we’re finally helped, we were instructed to park in a back alley where there were multiple homeless people attempted to enter the lodge and using drugs blocking the back entrances.
- Once we found and inspected the room, we found STAINS ON BEDDING (Coloured stains on bedsheets and blankets)
- We did not even unpack our belongings and notified the desk clerk we will not be staying due to not feeling safe and the UNSANITARY conditions.
- We were refused a refund for UNKNOWN REASONS, and was instructed to call back to speak to the manager.
- It has been a week now and after calling the lodge almost everyday for an update and speaking with the Econolodge customer support line to get a refund we have still been unable to connect with the manager TJ as he refuses to help.
-The lodge is claiming they are now unable to find any history of our reservation despite us having proof of payments and receipts.

Save yourself the headache and don’t stay at Econolodge Prince George.

Econolodge Prince George

What a horrible mistake!
Having to spend only 12 hours in Prince George, we decided to save some money by staying in a newly renovated suite at the Econolodge. The reviews on Google are good and there was only one review on trip advisor before mine.

When we were closer to the hotel I mentioned to my family that maybe this wasn't a great part of town to stay in. But the lady at the hotel assured me when I booked the room that the vehicle would be safe because they have 24 hour surveillance.
When we pulled onto the parking lot, the motel lobby and stairs beside it were blocked off with a bunch of police tape and there were some police vehicles around and in the tiny parking lot.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
Someone had been attacked here, it looked like a murder scene. The police were investigating in white booties with forensic equipment.
My first instinct was to stay somewhere else but my husband said the crime had already happened and the police were there so we would be safe. I reluctantly took the room as it was on the other side of the motel and it was so late and we were so tired from our trip. The lady that checked us is was pleasant and professional even though you could tell she had just experienced something so scary. She calmly explained that someone came to the hotel and had an altercation with a guest that was staying there. It wasn't a random attack and they were all gone now.

Upon entering the suite I was surprised how nice it looked! Everything was updated looking. Traveling with pets, it's the best when there's a hard floor and this part of the motel was beautifully renovated!! Kudos to the company that did the renos here after the arson fire.

We settled in and went straight to sleep. The ac unit in the room was loud enough to block out whatever was happening at the crime scene outside. I could see the police car was parked right outside the whole night and next morning.
When I woke up in the morning and went to make coffee, I noticed the inside of the coffee maker, where the water goes was greasy. The 2 coffee cups weren't wrapped at all and the lids didn't even fit the cups? There was a sticky sauce all over the little packages of sugar/stirsticks. I threw them in the garbage. No coffee for me, and went to have a shower. I noticed the shower curtain was absolutely filthy. I wondered when the last time it had been washed. It had multiple different stains on it. The shower had so little pressure it took me forever to wash my hair. I'm so glad I brought my own hair products to use because the ones provided were very low quality.
When I went to grab a towel I noticed the towels weren't clean either. I couldn't tell that they were washed, some if them had yellow on them and some had surface marks on them. My skin started to crawl.
When my son was in the bathroom I pulled open the sheets on his bed just to see if they were actually clean and that's when I was absolutely mortified to see that the other side of the bed, where he didn't sleep, had pee stains!!
I went over to our bed and same thing! Our sheets were filthy inside. I feel so stupid that I didn't look before we went to bed. I'm so disgusted by this point.
I went to look at the extra pillows that were piled on the bed, none of which were more comfortable than the cheapest pillows you can buy at Walmart. Again thankful that I travel with my own pillow, and turned one over and it had black stuff all over it!! I didn't notice it last night because they'd put that side down on the bed and I tossed it aside.
Again absolutely horrified at this point, I took the pillow down to the office to tell the manager what kind of state our room was in. I was told the manager wasn't in and would contact me very soon. I didn't feel that they were taking my complaint seriously at all. The girl that I showed the pillow to seemed unconcerned that I was mortified! She just said "well the room is new so there shouldn't be any problems". Lol! I said you still have to actually clean things!!
I asked her what are you going to do about this? She passed the buck to the manager to help me but it's now been 24 hours and I have yet to receive a call from the manager. I called the motel again this morning and was told the manager was away for a while and maybe he would try calling me today. I had to pay for the room before we even checked in, so this establishment already has my money for the horrible stay we had.
I wanted to leave a review so that other people don't have to stay in someone else's filth. Yes the rooms are beautifully renovated but it seems like they're not concerned at all about cleanliness or customer service here.
I learned my lesson, let me tell you, you get what you pay for, even if all the other reviews for a place are positive. Don't ever sleep in a bed without looking at the sheets first, and don't ever stay here. Gross.
Update, I did receive a call from the manager finally the next day. He was not friendly at all and he argued with me and made me feel like it was somehow my fault that the room was dirty because I had pets?? Admittedly I said, we should have looked at the room closer first and I feel stupid that I didn't but the beds were all made up and tucked in. It was late. We just wanted to sleep. I'd never expect to see dirty sheets after someone actually made the beds up like that. I said someone actually put that pillow on the bed, someone actually put that pillow case on that pillow and put it on the bed like that. Someone hung up those gross towels.
He said that because I had pets it wasn't their fault that the sheets were dirty. Ok sorry but we travel a lot and we always stay in hotels all over and we are very clean people with pets that do not pee on things.
I told him all I wanted was an apology and for him to tell me that he would speak to his cleaning staff and a refund would be nice as I had to pay for the room before we even went in it. But instead he was argumentative and hung up on me when I said I would be leaving a review on trip advisor. I did not receive a refund. He actually made me feel nervous about leaving this review the way he handled my phone call. He was very happy when I said I was leaving this review, and then Trip Advisor has taken down some of my photos and won't tell me why there is only one other review before mine. Something fishy is going on. I regret ever going here.

Room located in a hotel or rather an American-style motel. Very easy to access, easy parking, very large and clean room, functional bathroom, nothing to complain about in that regard.
On the other hand, the big downside is the noise! It’s extremely noisy and very poorly soundproofed! The neighbors in the rooms, outside in the parking lot, in the street, it was painful. Difficult to rest in these conditions.
And other big problems, the receptionist couldn't find our reservation, it took a long time to check, search, call his boss when he finally offered us a room! Unpleasant after a long day of driving.

I don't think Riviera has their own shuttle, but there is an airport shuttle service in PG for $15-20, Riviera may be on the hotel circuit. As far as parking, I know you can't leave your vehicle on the street between 1-6am (or something like that) because of snow removal. Don't know if Riviera would allow LT parking, their lot is pretty small. Airport parking is $65 wk, not sure if it's capped.

Answer from thechief64

I don't have pets but I have seen guests with dogs staying there. Riviera is probably 10-15 km from the airport, there's a few hotels closer, but not by much.

There are rooms on ground level but the motel is pretty busy so I would make the request soon if that's what you need I would say though an upstairs room would be a little more quiet seeing as the place is on a main street down town
