There are a lot of choices in PG and they are all fairly similar in amenities, price etc. I always stay at the Coast because every staff member I have encountered over the years have been great. The rooms are always spotless which especially during this COVID period has given me the confidence to stay at the Coast knowing I'm safe.

Overall very impressed with this hotel! The hotel it's self was great and very clean. The location is in the down town so the homeless population is high in that area but we had no issues with them, just make sure not to leave any valuables in the car. The staff there were incredible. As fellow hotel employee/manager myself, I always have high expectations and their staff, especially Beth at the front desk, were always so nice and accomadating. We switched rooms after the first night as the two double beds we had were just not working for us and our almost 2 year old. Beth was so helpful and understanding and got us in to a king bedroom right away with out any hesitation. GREATLY APPRECIATED!! Both rooms were spotless, I was throughly impressed. Our first room didn't have a microwave and we needed to heat up our sons bottle and housekeeping had no issues bringing us a microwave right away! The restaurant in the lobby, my son and I went for breakfast while hubby went to home depot and Tim, the waiter was also phenomenonal. With out asking, he brought over a highchair for my son and when our breakfast came, he made sure to give us their smallest fork so it was easier for my little guy. He also may have noticed the tired look on my face and made sure to bring a carafe of coffee over for myself to fill up as I needed. This was very thoughtful. I'd most definitely stay there again. Thank you!

Nice updated room, very clean, comfortable and quiet. Very comfortable bed. Staff very pleasant and good COVID procedures in place. Location in downtown area is not conducive to walking around due to some of the people hanging around the general area of the city Was traveling for medical reasons, would be nice to have a medical rate.

I want to write this as a fair and honest review. In fairness to this hotel, the building may be old, but the walls and floors are renovated to look modern and new. The toilet reminds me of hotels in some countries I went to in Asia such as South Korea and Thailand because they have the warm seats and bidet. Housekeeping takes ownership as they write the name of the cleaner in a note they leave in the room.

The one thing that was off is that they have a cigarette smell. As soon as we entered the room, we smelled it. We requested to move to a different room as we thought it was a smoking room, staff were friendly to assist. The next room was the same, it still smelled. Figured out the cause was the air from the vents. The vents were also dusty. So I guess it is the smell of the old building which may have had smoking rooms. Not really a fan of that smell, reminds me of sketchy motels. I read through some reviews and found some people noticed the same. The sheets were clean, we knew the smell didn’t come from them. So I give them that credit.

Also, I got double charged through my credit card, so I communicated that to them and they admitted to the error and told me they will return the money. That isn’t always convenient.

Otherwise, I’d say they try their best to be a 4-star, it’s just how it is with old buildings, and that kind of smell made it really unpleasant.

This is one of the best hotel stays I've ever had, and I have stayed at 100's of hotels all over the world. The on-site amenities (pool, restaurants, parking, valet, etc) were top notch. The lobby is very nice and both restaurants were accessible from it. The room was spotless with tons of little extras added. Complimentary robes and slippers were added to the room to use while at the hotel and that was really nice.
I went to Winston's Resto-Lounge and the food was impeccable. It's not cheap, but if you're okay with that you won't be disappointed.

Where this hotel really shines, however, is its staff. The room service was prompt and everyone was very polite. They even have a pillow menu (free of charge) and I got the lavender scented memory foam. Truly 5-star. I would also like to mention the front desk staff, particularly Beth, who was absolutely amazing. It really is the people in a place like this that makes it special and she did everything she could to make our stay special, so thank you.

The only thing I could possibly say to the negative was the T.V in the room kept losing service intermittently (it must run on internet or something). I'd like to mention we didn't bring this up to the hotel because we didn't really watch TV, but if we did I'm sure they would have fixed it straight away.

If you're looking for an executive stay for a good price, just book The Coast. You won't be disappointed.

One night stay after driving 500 miles (800 km) from Delta BC. The room was spotlessly clean, and well appointed with comfortable bed and pillows. There was a very large flat screen TV in the room. The bathroom was, again, spotless and well provided with good quality towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Housekeeping and the desk staff were attentive to our request for extra pillows.
Because the hotel facilities (gym, pool, restaurants) were closed due to COVID-19 I can't rate them, but even with them being closed the hotel was good value and I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel used to be very nice but it has literally gone to the dogs with two floors dedicated to people with dogs it can be very noisy with dogs barking and dog urine in elevator as well.
Rooms are clean. Parking lot needs cleaning and handicapped parking and stall line painting needs to be done.
Staff was friendly and helpful but could use security on site to patrol the hotel and grounds.

We stayed at the Coast twice on our road trip to Prince Rupert. Both times the room and the services were excellent. Best value of whole trip and added bonus of $20 gas card made the price the best on the trip with the most comfortable surroundings. The hotel is downtown (which is pretty quiet right now) but just a block away is the Crossroads Brew Pub which is fantastic. Both great stays.

My stay was wondedull in the king suite. The only issue I had was when I first tried to check in. I didn't find out the first Lady's name who assisted me first but she very pooly represented the other staff in Prince George who are helpful wonderful people . The first Lady who helped me obviously had decided that because my gf is as Aboriginal Canadian and that we must be of a lower class decided to tell me that there were no rooms available with balconies and instructed me to call the Marriott because they have balconies I went outside then came back in 5 minutes later she to then told me that every room in my the Hotel had just been rented. So I went online and booked the room I had originally inquired about I find it to funny that someone who is a minority her self was using such class and racial descrimination when assisting us thankfully her shift ended and a very nice clerk saved the day for us I don't know her name but she really went there extra mile she deserves a raise and should serve as a example to her other racist colleague.

What time is check in and Can we check in earlier
Answer from Stephanie Y
Prince George, Canada
Check in time is normally 4 PM, most days we are able to get guests in earlier who get to PG on earlier flights. It honestly depends on our ability to get rooms cleaned from the previous night. We can always take and store your luggage and honestly if you call the desk directly and let them know your needs they will do what ever is possible to make it work for you.
Answer from Stephanie Y

Coast uses Simmons as a mattress partner and Simmons is available at most stores. Our bed is a single side pillow top that is unique to the coast brand, however the difference between ours and the Simmons Pillow top I saw at sleep country is very similar. The last time we ordered mattresses for the guest rooms I purchased one for myself, so I do agree they are very comfortable. I know as a brand we are working towards a plan to get mattresses and Sheet's on line so guests can order directly. We are just not there yet. If you encounter any challenges in finding a mattress to purchase, reach out and I'll go to a couple of retailers for you and find a alternative. Dave

Do you have shuttle to/from train station?
Answer from Stephanie Y

I am sorry, we do not have a shuttle. The train station is a pretty short walk, or cab ride. I walk over to the PG Tourism office which is in the same building every week, its about 6 blocks I think.
