We come from a town near Prince George quite often. We have driven by numerous times without seeing it. Coming to town on a long week-end, everything else was full and presto, we discovered the Economy Inn. Downs, could use touch up paint on door moldings. That is it. It was clean, roomy, quiet and best of all, relatively cheap. Even the in room coffee wasn't bad. It reminds me of travelling with my folks in the '60s, before the big chains came in and there were auto courts every 50 miles. This might become our go to PG motel.

If you have 96 bucks, you can stay the night. The beds are just that, so don't expect much, but the service is great and the rooms are clean. I wish they had a breakfast service though, but beggars can't be choosers.

It's a good hotel, room was comfortable, modern and well-appointed.
But, it is (at least from what I could see) in a sketchy part of Prince George and I didn't feel comfortable walking around outside at night. There's a Dairy Queen restaurant across the street, which is annoyingly busy, but apart from that, nothing.

Not sure if it's changed since I visited, but they still use old fashioned keys and not the electronic cards that most hotels use. As the area was a bit rough, I would have preferred an electronic card.

Clean, comfortable, quiet, good value. We stayed one night with family and or friends took a room with a bedroom. There is a combo style room arrangement with some rooms with direct access rom outside (motel style) and other rooms in the traditional hotel style with access from an inner hallway.

Door access is with a key (for after hours) to get into the building and then your room key for your suite.

The her ia fast food DQ across the street and Jakes (steak, chicken, etc) just a block away with very large portions if that is your style.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

Nothing fancy just a good place to stay.

Going to Prince George to catch up with friends. Booked on line & was happy with choice. Not much time spent in room. Good price for what we required. Had no interaction with front staff except checkin/out but they were there if needed. Tourist information in the foyer if you require. Had two comfortable beds, TV, free Wifi & coffee maker. Air con turned off in middle of the night so it got a bit warm. Easy walking distance to shops & restaurants. Restaurant across the road for breakfast. Large car park right out the front which was great.

I'm sitting in room 38 in mid June 2014. I saw a combination on Tripadvisor that I use as a good measure of a place...mid pack rating in the top few lowest prices. In this case it was ranked 11/25 and 3rd out of 25 for cheapest price.

The place is old. Kind of retro back to the 1960s when the street out front was the main drag through town heading north. But old is not synonymous with bad. It's just an old shape, an old layout and well...just old school.

But the windows have been upgraded to vinyl, the carpet is basic but clean and unworn and the air conditioner newish and works well. The furniture is typical hotel oak laminate, hotel Wal Mart style prints on the wall, clean paint, 1980s brass lamps, new discount flat screen, newish bedspreads, fresh tile and hardware in the bath. It comes with a mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave on a big counter.

And it comes at a $75 tax in price for a no reservation walk-in.

Decent. Clean. Big room. Solid bed. Strong internet. Quiet.

Good room+Good price=Good place.

We checked in to this hotel after reading all the good reviews of others. Yes! This is a nice and clean place to stay on your budget. Easy access to all the places. Front desk and housekeeping was friendly and helpful during our two nights stay. I could recommend if you are looking for a descent place in downtown within your budget, then go here.

We stayed here 2 years ago. We liked it then, so we choose this facility again. In the meantime the place was sold to a South Korean family. Upon check-in we were greeted in a polite, friendly and respectful manner. Our room was upgraded with a new TV, also the bathroom was remodeled. We had a pleasant stay. Breakfast is not included. We would stay in this motel any time.
