Detailed Reviews
A wonderful place, kind and warm-hearted hosts. Rooms are huge. Walt and Ruth Thielmann are both descendants from a Mennonite family that immigrated to Canada from the Ukraine in the beginning of the 20th century. Walt still speaks some German that was spoken in southern Germany 300 years ago. At breakfast we had very interesting talks with Walt and Ruth about their Mennonite background and their life in British Columbia.
The rooms were huge and furnished in an English style of the 1950 / 1960, very inviting. The breakfast was gorgeous: Ruth's self-baked muffins were particularly delicious.
We had very interesting talks with Ruth and Walt. We actually wanted to leave at 9 a.m. but then left at 11 a.m.

Very good accommodation with great attention to detail. Fantastic breakfast and kind and helpful hosts who collected us, and dropped us to and from the railway station.

Heading into Prince George, we booked the Bedford House on short notice and Ruth and Walter graciously accepted our request.
Upstairs in their home, we had a large bright tastefully decorated queen bedded room with a sink. The adjacent bathroom was for our exclusive use but not ensuite.
There was no television in the room and my husband was anxious to watch The World Cup. He was able to do so in the den downstairs which was somewhat removed from the hosts’ living room, where they also had a TV, so no one was inconvenienced.
The quality of everything is high and Ruth, who has the Martha Stewart touch, served us a lovely breakfast on a table with an beautiful bouquet from her garden, which is reminiscent of something you might see in a small English estate.
They are delightful people and we enjoyed conversing with them at breakfast which was the only time we saw them.
The location, a pleasant walk to town in the right weather or a 2 minute drive in the rain is excellent.
If you like a B&B experience, you will not be disappointed.

Fazit: Empfehlenswert

We arrived 2 hours late from the skeena and Walter picked us up from the station, although we hadn't had dinner Ruth made us some scrummy hot toast and fruit to help us through. Walter also took us to the town deli in the morning to get provisions altogether a nice place with great hosts.

You could not ask for better hosts, we were collected from the train station by Walt. He also ran us into town so we could eat & then picked us up later too.
The freshly prepared breakfast of granola with grated apple & hot egg & bacon soufflé served in the lovely dining was delicious. There were fresh baked muffins too & Ruth packed them up for our train journey later.
Highly recommended

Well this is a wonderful find of a B&B and Walt and Ruth are great hosts with a beautiful Canadian home that also has an exceptional garden - the rooms are decorated to a high standard and a fantastic breakfast was served in great style from the dining room
We were collected from the train station and even given an tour of Prince George due to a 5 hour train delays , honestly these hosts go above and beyond providing a great value stay and would recommend them to anyone

Bedford Place B&B is an elegant heritage house located in Millar Addition, a nice and quiet residential neighbourhood by Fraser River just minutes from Prince George city centre. We love their upscale decor and furnishing, bright and beautiful living and dining rooms, spacious and clean bedrooms, firm and comfortable beds, high quality bed and bath linen... fresh and delicious breakfast. Ruth and Walt are amazing hosts who welcomed us warmly even though we got delayed on our trip and had to arrive at 1:00am! We had a great conversation with them over breakfast and enjoyed their company and hospitality. Would love to stay at Bedford B&B when we visit Prince George again!
