Our 1 night stay en route from Prince Rupert to Jasper with VIA Rail was all too short in Prince George. From the moment that Stuart met us at the train we experienced his warm hospitality. The B&B was very spacious & comfortable. The position & view over the river was stunning & added to the relaxing atmosphere. It was also great to have internet access.Stuart's delicious breakfast next morning exceeded all expectations & he took us to purchase goodies for our next train journey.

If you're looking for the coziest bed, a hot shower, an excellent cup of tea, the kindest hosts, and the most delicious three-course breakfast, Water's Edge is the stop for you. In under a 12 hour stay, this bed and breakfast won my affection. Don't look elsewhere - stay here! They'll even pick you up and drop you off at the train station in a timely and gracious fashion.
After a long day of travelling on VIA Rail's "Skeena", the Water's Edge B&B was precisely the taste of home I was looking for. My only regret was that I could only stay for one night.
Thank you Stuart and Marie! I hope I can come see you and your lovely home again soon!

Waters Edge B&B
July 2006
Reviewers: Jon & Rosie, Cumbria, UK
We arrived mid-afternoon to a friendly welcome from Stuart & Marie, who showed us our room & joined us fro a pot of tea out in their beautiful garden by the river!
We were both quite tired as we had travelled from Jasper but found instant relaxation in our surroundings.
We were presented with a lovely bottle of home made Red wine & also given a lift to the Restaurant & got a taxi back.
The bed was very comfortable & also the lounge at our disposal equipped with tv, hifi & internet access.
The breakfasts were fantastic & very filling; usually starting with fruit & ending in something cooked.
Stuart & Marie were extremely helpful & advised us all sorts of places to go & we enjoyed their company when we were not rushing about. They also had a fantastic dog called Timber (Husky cross)who was very friendly.
The 3 night stay was very relaxing & we would certainly recommend that people stay there as the atmosphere was always calm, relaxing & excellent value for money. It was like staying with good friends.

We stayed two nights here, one night on our VIA rail train trip to Prince Rupert, and again one night on the way back. The owner picked us up and dropped us off at the train depot both times.
The location right on the bank of the Nechacko River is exquisite, as were the breakfasts that were prepared for us. We have recommended it to others who have stayed there as well.

Stuart was wonderful-he picked me up from the train, then dropped my off at the rental car place in the morning. (It was closed when I arrived.) Beautiful and interesting home, lovely setting, peaceful and quiet room.I really enjoyed the walk along the river and the wonderful views. Stuart prepared a lovely breakfast as well. I would definably stay there again.

Stuart picked us up from the train, Marie had a cuppa waiting for us, comfy bed, whole homely bottom floor to ourselves, excellent breakfast, beautiful peaceful morning walk along the water's edge - with the dog! bonus! before they dropped us back to the train the next morning. Can't hope for better than that.

I had the pleasure of an extended stay with Stuart and Marie this September while I attended lectures at UNBC. I was greeted each morning with a fabulous coffee, delicious breakfasts, and amazing views of the Nechako river from the dining room. In the evening I arrived to a comfortable bed, fresh towels, and spacious lounge area. If you are looking to stay with hosts who have fine tuned the art of graciousness with excellent knowledge of local amenities and attractions, this is the place to stay. Many thanks Stuart, Marie and Gus, your kindness is very much appreciated!

We stayed for three nights with friends at Water's Edge Bed and Breakfast, as both our daughters were playing in the basketball provincials at UNBC (10 minute drive from the B&B). Lovely location, with amazing views of the river from both the suite as well as the breakfast area. Wonderful healthy breakfasts with an excellent cup of cappuccino/latte each morning. Stuart and Marie were wonderful hosts. The two bedroom suite downstairs is newly renovated and has everything you need (fridge/tv/seating area). The bed was very comfortable.

We stayed here for 1 night as a stop over on our train journey from Prince Rupert to Jasper. Stuart was kind enough to meet us off the train and was waiting for us when our train arrived at Prince George station. The B & B is only a short drive away and on arrival we were shown to our room and were given hot drinks and biscuits. The house is lovely and we had the downstairs to ourselves which includes a huge lounge with TV and computer. We had the best nights sleep of our whole holiday while we were here - lovely comfy bed and very quiet and peaceful. In the morning we woke up to the beautiful view over the river. We were given a delicious cooked breakfast (the best breakfast of our trip) served in the dining room looking over the river. Stuart gave us a lift back to the station. It is shame that we did not have time to stay longer but we would thoroughly recommend this B & B.
