The Crest is beautifully situated with views of Hecate Strait. The public spaces are nicely decorated. Our room had two beds overlooking the water. The furnishings and decor were lovely but the room was not at all spacious and the bathroom the tiniest ever experienced over many years of travel. It had a pedestal sink so no counter to put anything on and only one tiny towel rack. The hotel is a short walk to Cow Bay where there are lovely shops and restaurants. The local artisans co-op had some beautiful reasonably priced items. The fresh fish at Dolly’s Fish restaurant was so good we went twice.

We were on the 3rd floor with a glorious view of the harbour. Wonderful sun sets and always something moving about on the ocean. COVID protocols in place so no maid service offered on a daily bases, if you needed something you had to find staff on the floor, that wasn't too hard.
Washrooms were small, multiple shower heads - I didn't get adventurous with them. Window seats to admire the view.

The location is great as you are centrally located to walk along the shoreline, to visit the parks and to shop. Check in and check out worked well. The staff were very accommodating. The room was clean and the shower was impressive. The wifi worked well and we had a marvellous view. The staff were sensitive to the covid-19 concerns.

My husband and. I recently stayed here for 3 nights. Booked a king room city view. Upon arriving at the guest counter the staff was not very friendly. The room was quite small bathroom even smaller. It was extremely stuff in the room so quickly turned on air conditioner which made crackling noises when on. Kept me up during the night. Asked front desk to have maintenance look at it, never knew if they did or not since was noisy next night. Service was good in the lounge and restaurant and friendly service. The front Reception. Checkin desk was once again extremely rude and unfriendly upon check out. For a hotel that speaks of service other than the restaurant the service was horrible.

If you must stay definitely get a water view since city view is the parking lot and lots of noise early 5 o’clock mornings with everyone heading out fishing.

I personally would try a different hotel since for over $200 a night there wasn’t anything special.

I have no words for the people who work here, helpful, attentive, trying their hardest to make sure that you are happy. Pretti, Mikaela, the restaurant stuff, the chef, everyone is amazing. Well all of them except one. The food is wonderful, the rooms are outdated and do smell like you have left the laundry in the washer wet for days.
BUT, Who starts power washing after midnight?! How is that even a thing? I woke (jumped is more accurate, scared me in my sleep) up from the noise at 00:30, called the front desk, asked if they are doing any work during that time and the response I got from Pat (I think), was "yes they are power washing the fans, it's gonna continue till 02:00, they are not gonna stop.". In the rudest way possible. And hang up without let me say a word.
And since then not one person has reached out to me, to apologize.
You are a hotel. How about you let us sleep at night!
Also, please change your mattresses. All of our rooms (I think we had 7-8 rooms) have the springs of the mattresses come out, or the pillow top is complete wrecked with huge dents. Since you charge 250$ a night I think good mattress should be your No 1 priority.
Yes the view is spectacular, most of your staff is unbelievable polite and so so kind.
Power wash at 00:30 in the morning... next to the rooms.... no words.
The 3 stars are only due to your staff. 99% of them are amazing!

This elegant hotel somehow feels old fashioned – where a movie star from the 1950’s might stay. Lots of wood paneling, house phones in the lobby, and a creaky but perfectly functional elevator. Their restaurant (the ‘Waterfront Restaurant’ – see our separate review) feels like the most happening place in town – more so with locals than with tourists on the Friday and Saturday nights when we stayed. And the bar was also quite lively.

Our room had the ‘city / mountain view’, where from the window seat we looked out over the grand old houses on the other crest (and the parking lot). Rumor has it the ‘harbor view’ rooms on the other side are even more spectacular.

My only issues were that the third-floor ice machine gave out of ice, and my key was a bit flaky. Nothing major, and nothing that would dampen our enthusiasm for this lovely hotel.

We booked a double, city view room. I did not realize that this meant no air conditioning and no window seat. As I have stayed before this was an unpleasant surprise. The room was hot and stuffy with the only alternative to open the sliding window located above the entrance and smoking area. As the hotel has a popular bar and restaurant it was busy and loud. The front desk was unsympathetic and said I should have known when booking this class of room. Not sure how as it is not stated on the website. So if you go, be sure to clarify the room amenities and location. Also, this hotel has faded bedspreads and no duvets. No service in the room for four days. That’s ok during a pandemic but would have been nice if my request for some more coffee and garbage removal had been honoured. Otherwise a nice venue with an excellent restaurant.

Firstly the positives. The hotel has a great location and we had a room with views over the sea which was large and a very comfortable bed. The room is well equipped and had recently had ac installed. This is an ongoing project not all rooms are yet completed. The hotel has an historic charm and nice atmosphere. Now the mixed views. We don't like a bath in the bedroom and the shower also in the bedroom with glass sides. This is personal but a separate bathroom for us. And the negatives. The hotel is fairly noisy, it is used by tour groups and the Port Hardy to Prince Rupert ferry arrives at about 1130pm and boards at about 6am. So there can be quite a lot of noise at rather unsociable times. I would recommend asking for a top floor room away from the lift. However all said we would stay here again.

The hotel is nice but once you get into the room, the beds are worn out, everything is very used. It’s really not a nice hotel room. The pictures they post are from like probably when the hotel opened. Because everything is very used. Almost $300 a night and they allow drunk people to be absolutely ridiculous and not stop it. The front desk people are not helpful. I would never stay in this hotel ever again.

An aging hotel, attempting to keep it updated, air conditioning installed this year with individual room controls. Bathrooms are very small in standard rooms, carpet is in dire need of replacing in the rooms. Was clean and staff at the front desk were very professional and attempted to keep you happy.
Great location, Safeway near by for food if you are traveling via ferry/or road, Cow Bay is an easy walk of maybe 15 minutes to a wide variety of choices for restaurants. Smaller cruise ships port here, about a 5 minute walk from hotel.
Casino is next door, for food or games.
There are water front rooms or parking lot.
Bed was comfortable and a choice of 4 pillows to sleep on.

Helllo. We are not pet friendly but may I recommend either the Pacific Inn or the Inn on the Harbour, both of these hotels accept pets.

i apologize for the delay in responding to your query. We do not have the parking capacity to offer long term vehicle parking. there is limited space available at the BC ferry terminal in Prince Rupert, additionally the Totem Lodge Motel offers long term parking and is in close proximity to the Ferry Terminal
