The hotel did not meet our expectations, the beds where good.
We came from the BC ferry and wanted to sleep.
The breakfast was a bit difficult as the room was not to big for all the guests.
Parking was not possible when we arrived LPM..

This could be a great place to frequent if it wouldn't be for some annoying things. When we got up to the 2nd floor to reach our room at the end of the hallway we were overwhelmed by an undefinable god awful smell, which never went away. Probably due to improper or no ventilation at all. The room was very spacious with excellent bedding, which made for a good night sleep. The shower was inoperative since the lever was stuck in the bathtub position. Getting in and out of a small and narrow bathtub is not easy for 6 feet tall persons. But the real joke was the placement of the tiny refrigerator and microwave. Some brainless person put it on the floor underneath the wet bar. In order to heat up a cup of coffee we had to crawl on the floor to operate the microwave. This is unacceptable. The complimentary breakfast was below par and the selection was the smallest we have ever encountered. We probably would stay here again if these issues are addressed.

Response from Corey K, General Manager at Pacific Inn

Klausmac, Thank-you for submitting your review of the Pacific Inn as we encourage all our guests to provide feedback on their experience so that we may either enhance or rectify any and all comments. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the spacious rooms and the bedding, which made for a good nights sleep, as well; I have noted the comment regarding organization for better utilization of the refrigerator & microwave and have since started to better organize the room. Our Complimentary breakfast is of good local quality and we have since added additional products within the breakfast room itself. I certainly would like the opportunity to host you again when traveling back through Prince Rupert. Again, thank-you for your review and we will do our utmost to ensure the issues are addressed. Best Regards, Mr. Corey Kitchen General Manager

We pulled into Prince Rupert at the end of a seven-week road trip, and after dodging November storms. Pacific Inn was given a 31/2-star rating by the B.C Approved Accommodation Guide, so we checked it out. At first look, it appears lost and weary, but the staff was so helpful and friendly. She gave us a rate lower than the guide book (The other hotel gave us a rate much higher than the guide book for a crowded room with fewer amenities other than cookies at bedtime and down duvets), and let us look at a room. I was pleasantly surprised--$68, tax included (low season), for a king with a couch, chair, TV, wireless, fridge, microwave, light continental breakfast. Very cozy, and the best deal we found in seven weeks! The bathroom could use some updating and there were some stains on the rug, but otherwise the place is very clean. The location is quiet, though not on the water, but within walking distance of shops and waterfront, and across the street from a well-stocked grocery store. I think the mangement and staff are working hard at making their guests comfortable. I'll recommend this place to others travelling through Prince Rupert.

Well, we booked the hotel to be near the ferry terminal. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, but old. It needs some remodeling soon. Also, no air conditioning was available. It was ok for us due to the temperatures, but I don't want to stay there in July or August.
The reason why I review the stay as poor is that there was a group of idiots (sorry, have to call them that) in a lot of rooms on our floor who made some sort of party at night. They were clearly totally drunk and were making a lot of noise. We weren't able to sleep. After calling the front desk the noise stopped about half an hour later, but when I have a bunch of young people booking several rooms, as a hotel I would put other guests on a different floor. We won't be back. Can't recommend it.

Hotel options in Prince Rupert are limited so we had hoped this would be a decent option for a decent price. Service was fine but that’s about where it ended for me. As soon as we parked, there was a staff member in the “smoking area” created by moving some hotel couches to a parking spot in the underground who was apparently fighting with someone on her phone and the first words we heard were her shouting out the “f bomb”. Not exactly a great first impression. Our view consisted of the graffiti wall of the building next door, the room wasn’t exceptionally clean and everything there was VERY dated. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. The area seemed very sketchy and we were woken up by random yells and fights in the back throughout the night. We worried about our vehicle in the unsecured underground parking.

A disaster right from the get-go. We arrived late after taking the Inside Passage ferry and the front desk clerk yelled at us to park across the street at the unsecured supermarket parking lot. We asked if we could park in the hotel handicapped parking space to unload and were told “NO!” The room we got was NOT renovated, the (decorative) pillow cases and carpet were filthy and the view was of a dumpster in the alley . There was no air conditioning and the windows had no screens, so we sweated it out with the windows closed. There was screaming coming from a group down the alley, so windows closed was probably a good idea anyway. To top it all off, it was impossible to turn on the shower. STAY AWAY.

The most consistently friendly and accommodating staff. The continental breakfast was decent. Very clean and comfortable rooms. But the best thing about the Pacific Inn truly is the exceptionally friendly staff. It’s why we keep coming back.

I have had the opportunity to stay at the Pacific Inn three times over the past three years. I am from Metlakatla, Alaska and our basketball team patrons the hotel each year during the All Native Basketball Tournement. There is a family atmosphere in the hotel which is felt as soon as you enter the lobby. The ladies who run and manage the hotel are friendly, efficient, and extremely caring; which is evident in each of their dealing with the customers. They remember everybodys name and are sincere and made our experience at the hotel one to tell our friends about. The rooms are always cleaned above standards that you would expect from a hotel that was so affordable. The restaurant in the lobby is high class, with a pleasant atmosphere and large servings. I look forward to staying at the hotel when I return to Prince Rupert again, not just for the comfortable accomodations, but also to revisit our old friends!
