We had a WONDERFUL time at this magnificent spot -- gorgeous architecture, beautiful scenery, delightful steam room, delicious breakfasts, and lovely walks. The pool and hot tub weren't finished at the time, but they will be icing on the proverbial cake. To top it off, the owners were friendly and accommodating.

I had the privilege of staying at Lightwater Cove recently, and I was impressed and in awe of how much meticulous detail and thought has gone into constructing this oceanside sanctuary. I stayed in the Wheelhouse Suite and was greeted by the sun in the mornings, with the view of the ocean outside my window and the snowy mountains in the distance. I was given tours of the property and the rich in-depth history of the land that Greg and Monika have preserved and paid tribute to. The architecture is stunning, luxurious and cosy all wrapped into one - truly an incredible experience. I look forward to visiting Salt Spring Island again, and enjoying all of the magic that Lightwater Cove has to offer.

We rolled up to the ornate iron gates of Lightwater Cove, and were not prepared for the beauty and scale of the magical kingdom that presented itself before us. The picture-perfect setting in a gorgeous bay was one thing, but the distinctive take on West Coast architecture was a delight to the eye. This fascinating theme runs throughout the main lodge and surrounding buildings, and the design of the grounds, gardens and water features show that a cohesive and artful plan was followed from conception to completion. Great thought and work was put into improving and sustaining the ecological balance of the grounds, and that in itself is an impressive story. There is real integrity in the motivation behind this project.

Inside the spacious main lodge the extensive high quality woodwork featured everywhere in the interior is stunning. The vibe as you enter is friendly and welcoming, but calm and discreet. Greg and Monika, the charming owners and curators have just the right touch, and Maple the dog will melt your heart when you arrive.

The rooms are beautiful, and all themed differently. These soothing and comfortable spaces are very well appointed, but simple in the best way.

A lovely, healthy breakfast is provided, and then you are free to enjoy this haven in whatever way you choose. Nature walks, the pool and other facilities, the gardens, the beach, there is so much here to savour and appreciate.

We found Lightwater Cove to be a nourishing and delightful experience, and would recommend this magical place to anyone looking for a great escape.

We will definitely be returning!

I was going to host a retreat at the main guesthouse, and found the listing on VRBO, for almost 1/2 the price. The owners did not want to honor the pricing that was advertised and did not want to take accountability for their mistake. I was communicating with the wife the whole time, and then when I asked them about the pricing and listing, she all of a sudden wanted me to speak to her husband. I found this very unprofessional and their business standards very low. They tried to say it was another house on the property, the Nest, but that one is a 5 bedroom. The Guesthouse is a 7 bedroom (actually 9, but their descriptions are all over the place and very misleading and confusing). The images and descriptions on VRBO are for the Guesthouse and they wanted to charge me almost double the price.

This was a misunderstanding, as we do not advertise our place on VRBO.

Beautiful new property. Guests hace access to a spacious luxurious dining area with stunning ocean view and good amenities. There is cook to order breakfast, at the time of my stay, the property has farm in site and working on their garden. Even when it is under construction, the property is still gorgeous.

Lightwater Cove - the name heralds a precious getaway -- and it delivers! Perched in a spacious suite in what feels like the top of the world, my partner and I gaze in wonder at the property's private cove below, which spreads into an endless glittering sea. At our backs, we rest against a hand carved headboard, inset with copper leaf foliage. Unparalleled curved woodbeam craftsmanship defines this stunning modern architecture. Moonlight glows between the Garry oaks. We hear the hooting of an owl, a raven's call high in the trees.

The main hall, below, is massive. A parade of delicious healthy food sits waiting at the bar. A choice of indoor hall with large rock fireplace, outdoor oceanview deck, or dappled garden arbour is available for repose. A spa is available, as is a warm azure swimming pool, or hand-hewn stone stairs to take you down to the ocean. The grounds display waterfalls, ponds, majestic golden gates, stonework magic, a variety of fruits and organic vegetables, a greenhouse with succulent yellow cherry tomatoes and a procession of flowers, including dahlias, hydrangea and lavender. Forest paths, tree houses, and a heritage orchard dot the landscape. Aahhh, the grace of nature. The elegance and beauty of the grounds and Lodge. The friendly warmth of our hosts. Sanctuary
Highly recommend!!!
