Cottage is gorgeous with all of the convenience of home away from home. It is well maintained, clean, warm and inviting. Welcome basket with goodies from hosts’ own garden was a wonderful touch that we appreciated and enjoyed while we were there. With Salt Spring Island’s locavore culture we also loved shopping at the farmers market and many farm stands sprinkled across the island, cooking at the cottage and dining under the stars or with the view of the forest and the nearby gardens. Stay at the cottage and Salt Spring Island can be anything that you want it to be and for us it was the perfect getaway to unplug and relax.
The Cozy Woodpecker Cottage is undoubtably fabulous! We had the cottage to ourselves but it could easily accommodate 6 people. Breathtaking nature views, super comfy beds, spa-like bathroom and a patio that rocks! Imagine the freshest fruit and vegetables brought to your door, tasty jam and the Dexter the coolest dog ever greeting you every morning (not with barks but rather kisses). We had a wonderful and easy time biking to town each day so the proximity to Ganges was perfect. All in all, Emma & Duncan are friendly and wonderful people to meet and remarkable hosts with a stunning, gorgeous and relaxing cottage!
We loved the Cosy Woodpecker Cottage B&B from the great peaceful setting to the wonderful decor !!! We were so happy with everything about this place! The breakfast fixings were truly amazing and Duncan and Emma were awesome hosts! We at first thought the place might be too small from the internet pictures but were pleasantly surprised how well laid out the home was and the deck, we hosted a dinner for 9 with lots of room to spare!!! Highly recommend and we will be back some day soon Duncan and Emma (:
Travelling with our 21 and 13 year old sons this was our bit of bliss between surfing in Tofino and biking in Whistler and our 5 days at Cosy Woodpecker Cottage were just perfect. We loved the location - it felt like the middle of nowhere but only 10 minutes to Ganges. The cottage had everything we needed (loved the little special touches like Salt Spring soap in the bathroom) and the lack of a TV was fab - we reacquainted ourselves with music we haven't played for ages and had some great games of cribbage. The breakfast basket was great - bliss eating breakfast watching the woodpeckers and other birds. All the info provided about Salt Spring Island was great and we would recommend www.saltspringmarket.com as a great source of info. We loved our full moon kayak, our chilled Sunday of cheese, beer and wine tasting and music and great food at the Tree House Cafe. We can highly recommend and really sad to leave.…
Our family stayed at the Cosy Woodpecker for a week in July. It was bliss! The breakfast provisions were delicious and the fresh and abundant raspberries from the garden were a great addition. The kids loved having Dexter show them around the property, and looking through the bird book to figure out what was flying around outside. We can't recommend the Cosy Woodpecker enough; we'll be back next year!
