We are still at the property and have one more day left before we head out tomorrow for our next adventure. This home is so perfect to watch all the people coming and going at the wharf. Float planes doing tours and kayaks and boat’s taxiing to and from the different locations. Lots to see here. It’s also so convenient to walk into town. Grocery store nearby and really almost all you need is a short stroll from here.
I would just add that there is no air conditioning and it was very warm during our stay here. A fan would have been nice if available. Also the chairs on the balcony were very hard to sit on for any length of time, so cushions could be helpful. We also could not get the fireplace to work, although not needed for heat. More for the ambiance in the late evening and early morning when it was a bit cool. I’m really not complaining but more of a suggestion for the owner of this property. We would book here again in a heartbeat,

My girlfriend and I recently stayed in this very cute studio apartment right in the heart of Tofino! We were able to walk everywhere: dinner at Shelter(excellent), kayaking at Tofino Kayaking, breakfast at the bakery and picking up groceries at the Co-Op. And of course the view was incredible being right on the water! The room itself was cute and well-appointed. Everything we needed. The check-in and out was very easy. We never actually saw our hosts which is sometimes easier. My only complaint would have been the glass rail on the deck was so dirty that we couldn't really enjoy the view when sitting inside. Nothing a good power washing wouldn't fix. Also the bedding and pillows for the pullout could have been better. Overall a great stay.

We stayed at Vista Hermosa for a week. The location is absolutely fantastic - we loved it. The accommodation is spacious and ideal for two mature couples travelling together. However, on arrival we had to contact the property manager to complain about the cooker and Bar B Q not being clean and that the sink in one of the bathrooms was not draining away. This was rectified after a day. As we settled in other things came to our attention. The sheets were not ironed, there was chipped crockery, a ripped cushion, very dusty carpet behind the furniture that had not been cleaned for some time. The furnishings are tired and some money just needs to be thrown at some of the household items. These issues have been bought to the attention of the property owner who was disappointed and unaware of the problems. He will be raising with the property management company so hopefully all will be addressed. It did not however ruin our holiday in any way because the apartment and view are unbeatable and we considered we had the best location in Tofino!! We had an exceptional week.

Was impressed with the view from the deck and size of the rooms. I expected a bit more from the reviews. Don't like to knit pick but there are more than a few items that need attention. The closet door in main bedroom is broken off and laying inside the closet. The fireplace does not work. The remotes for TV have dead batteries. Their was no soap for doing dishes as well no dish washer detergent. This explains why all the dishes that are supplied were covered in grease. I called the owner and she brought soap, so we washed all the dishes. The toilet has a broken flush button and has continuously running water. I think these house keeping issues should of been addressed prior to our arrival. Good things about this place, it's minutes from shopping, terrific view and the hot tub was a plus. Good news for the next people that stay here. The dishes are all clean and we put new batteries in one of the remotes.

As others have mentioned, the views are amazing. I'm not sure we will ever stay anywhere that could beat them. The studio itself is lovely, very comfortable with everything we needed. For some reason we hadn't realised until we arrived that the studio is part of a small, very nice block of apartments. I don't know if the Captain's Quarters is in the same block, I don't think it is. We also hadn't realised the studio was directly above a restaurant. I was a bit surprised by this when we first arrived. As it turned out the restaurant wasn't really a problem, with minimal noise. I think I would have preferred to have known in advance though. The studio is a lovely place, and undoubtedly staying there added a great deal to the pleasure we had during our time in beautiful Tofino.

We had the pleasure of staying here last year (October )and we can't wait to return!! The place was clean, spacious and well laid out. It provided a feeling of warmth and openess. The view from this place is spectacular. We enjoyed our breakfasts and romantic evenings with an amazing view of the lake.

The highlight for me was the huge private hot tub that overlooks the lake below. the only reason why im not giving it a 5 is because we found pieces of broken glass inside the tub and also at the deck. Nobody got hurt but I wish it was cleaned and checked before we came.

We will definitely be returning when we feel the need for a get-away.

We were a group of 4 adults touring BC and Alberta. We arrived in Tofino on day 13 of our adventure. What a treat it was to have a " house" to relax and spread out in. As others have stated, the " house" portion is 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a full living room, dining room and kitchen. There is a hot tub and BBQ dedicated for your use. The kitchen is completely and fully equipped. Aside from food and beverage, I can not think of one thing you would need. The house is about a 3 minute stroll from the heart of Tofino and overllooks the government warf. It is most intriguing to watch the virtually continous water taxi activity. Everything in the house was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. Towels etc were large and numerous. I understand that since our stay oin October that the house has been totally refurbished with new windows, flooring and furnishings, therefore it must be absolutley stunning now.

I would recommend this to anyone. Go and enjoy the House and Tofino. You will love both.

We just recently did a trip to Vancouver Island with a 4 day stay in Tofino. I searched the internet prior to going for accommodation for our 6 member party and found the Vista Hermosa House. We were looking for a reasonable priced accommodation that would fit our party and we found that in the Vista Hermosa. Because we went in the "off season" the price was outstanding. I dealt with Barbara Lamarche through phone and emails and she was very pleasant. Looking at the pictures on their website do not do the house justice! When we arrived at the house we felt as though we were royalty upon entering. The house is large, bright, spacious and very tastefully decorated. All the bedrooms were large, beds were comfortable, including the bunk beds that accommodated 2 adults. There are 2 large decks, one with a hot tub and the other that over looks the Tofino Harbor and Clayoquot Sound. The patio furniture included a large table with enough chairs for our party and 2 very comfortable loungers to sit, relax and watch the beautiful sunsets. I enjoyed my morning coffee on the deck watching all the boats go out and a light fog move in. There is also a large BBQ which we used both nights. We ran out of propane the first night and my husband found a fully filled replacement bottle in the storage under the house. This house had everything a person could ask for from movie dvds, music cassettes, board games, salt, pepper and other spices, coffee, tea, sugar and even shampoo and conditioner in the 2 large bathrooms. I can't say enough good things about the house and would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a home away from home while staying in Tofino.

Hermosa Suite is excellent accommodation if you prefer self catering. This is a house built on the cliff above the harbour with fantastic views of Meares Island and Clayoquot Sound. The upstairs is let as Hermosa Vista but we stayed in Hermosa Suite which is a 1 bedroom apartment. There is a large lounge/dining room which has a double sofa bed. There is a very well equipped kitchen, bathroom and shower room. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and well appointed. The best part is the large deck with barbeque and hot tub looking over the ocean where bald eagles soar above.
Below is the tiny harbour and there are always small boats arriving and leaving as well as the odd float plane.
The house is within easy walking distance of the local shops and restaurants. We would recommend the bear watching trip, you will see bears!

We went to Tofino to have a quiet get away. This house was a bad stain on our trip. The guests in the house threw a very loud party for hours, and after calling the property managers and the police, little was done.

If you are looking for a house used in this way, this is a great location.
You also won't mind the smoke and pot that wafts up nightly from the harbor parking lot below when locals have their nightly get-together.

Next trip, we will stay someplace less busy and less central because Tofino isn't as peaceful as we expected.

"This is more a self service suite than hotel and has three bedrooms, so not able to choose one over the other. But...harbour facing bedroom is biggest, brightest and most quiet, other queen room is darker, perhaps less quiet as it faces the quiet street, and the bunk bed room is also quiet, darker and the smallest."
