Detailed Reviews
Clean, comfy, cosy, friendly and well suited to those who enjoy exploring the great outdoors!
Location: walking distance to beaches, forest trails, harbour, shops and bus stop.
Upon arrival: car parking space to the rear of the property. Joe, the owner, (or one of his glamorous assistants) will greet you and show you around.
Rooms: I stayed in one of the private rooms, upstairs. Their adjacency to the communal areas will not affect your sleep, as there is a curfew in place. Depending on the guests, the curfew can be negotiated. The bed was so comfy to the extent that I now have bed envy.
Communal areas: an immaculately clean, spacious and well stocked kitchen. There is plenty of room for storing, preparing food and dining. During my stay I even attempted some baking.
The living room is very cosy: plenty of books, board games, and a laptop. I enjoyed sitting by the window enjoying the view, sipping tea and planning adventures.
The bathrooms are immaculately clean throughout.
There is a laundry service and plenty of fresh towels and bedding.
The porch area is well sheltered. It has chairs, tables and even a barbeque.
I really enjoyed my stay here as a solo traveller. Despite being amidst a pandemic lockdown, Joe did his utmost to ensure I was well accommodated for the duration of my stay- there was a family feel to the place not the clique vibes of some larger hostels.

Me and my girlfriend stayed for only two nights, but wished we had made more time to stay longer! This place is comfortable, clean, warm, and Joe, who runs the place, is a very helpful, friendly and all round wonderful guy. Breakfast is excellent.
It rained for most of our stay. And we still loved it. Joe, if you're reading this, we'll be back!!

We spontaneously decided to visit Tofino and stay for 4 nights, but found the accomodation options in town very limiting. The Trek Inn had availability and we didn’t think any more about the accomodation but actually Trek Inn was the highlight for us whilst in Tofino. Joe keeps the place very tidy and is a bastian of knowledge about all the things you can do around the paninsula, he’s also a really nice guy. He helped us find a bear tour for the day we arrived and picked us up from the Harbour. The Inn is extrenely well located in town, a few short minutes to the harbour where we did the bear tour, near the surf school where my fiancée did a beginners lesson and close to the free summer bus that visits all the main beaches. The Lone Cone water taxi is also a few minutes away and you can start trail walks to Tonquin beach and beyond from the Inn. We slept very well on all the nights and had a few nice breakfasts chatting with other guests as well. We always felt very comfortable to come back in the evenings and read in the living room. There are lots of great restaurants, take away places and coffee places nearby and a co-op to stock up on supplies for hikes. Whilst we came to Tofino to enjoy the beaches, hikes and food, Joe and the Trek Inn were the icing in the trip.

Tofino Trek Inn is a brilliant place to stay. I signed up for the Job Seekers Package, and I am delighted I did. Joe was so good to me, he showed me the map of Tofino, told me some nice spots for food and activities. He helped me find a job and move into my new accommodation. I couldn't recommend Tofino Trek Inn enough. Very clean and comfortable, with breakfast provided every morning.

I had such a brilliant stay at the Trek Inn. Joe is so welcoming, kind, helpful and friendly and really made me feel like I was at home. He was very willing to show me all of the local areas (which because I didn't have a car I couldn't have seen), and gave me such great advice on what to do, where to go, and where to have dinner. He went out of his way to make my visit even better than expected. The whole place is excellent value for money - the room was great and the location can't be beat. Its right in the heart of Tofino, close to beaches, bars and great places to eat. I highly, highly recommend staying here. It was such a memorable and fun experience - thanks for your hospitality Joe! I'll be back for sure!!

My partner and I recently got married in Tofino, and although my family and I didn't sleep at the Trek Inn, I certainly spend a whole lot of time there with my partners family. Joe was just as welcoming to me and my whole family who were in and out of the hostel everyday.
My partner and I recommended the Tofino Trek Inn to her family as it was the first place and only place we have stay in when we're in Tofino.
Joe is so friendly and really makes you feel welcome. The house has a great vibe too, with it's bright paint and just a homely feel.
There's no need to spend $400 a night for a chain hotel where you just have a boring room and a lifeless feel, when you can stay here and have the help of Joes knowledge.
We can't thank Joe enough for his hospitality. The wedding was perfect and the stay in Tofino was perfect too thanks to this great hostel.
Thanks again Joe!

The Tofino Trekk Inn is a great place to stay! My family rented the whole inn for about 10 of us. We were very comfortable and felt right at home. Lots of space for family to stay comfortably and the owner Joe was very welcoming and friendly. It was very close to everything and had a beautiful porch with a view. I can't wait to go back, I will definitely be staying there again!

Joe's bed & breakfast is the perfect place to stay in Tofino. Great location, good breakfast, affordable, a welcoming atmosphere and a house that makes you feel homey the second you arrive. I stayed here for one week after living at the HI Hostel and the Tofino Trek Inn was an excellent alternative for me as a solo traveler. I absolutely enjoyed the privacy (only three people sleeping in a shared room and the beautiful, big and clean bathroom) and on the other hand how easy it was to meet new interesting people.
Thanks Joe

Joe was the best host we have had here in Canada (and that is saying ALOT as canadians are so welcoming!) He provided us with a comprehensive list of things to do in the area and places to eat - all were absolutely spot on including the hot springs tour, dinner at the Shelter and the sun room down at the visitors centre. All these little insider tips made our stay such a fantastic experience. Joe also takes such pride in his business and the place is absolutely spotless. The area is beautiful with an abundance of activities on offer as well as cool shops and gorgeous beaches. We will definitely be coming back! Thanks again Joe.

I am a young professional and stayed at the Tofino Trek Inn as a solo traveler for a few nights in July 2014. In a town where most accommodations are pricey during this time of year, the Trek Inn was the perfect budget hostel to suit my needs. It was quiet, clean and homey. The location was perfect as it was near many fantastic restaurants and surf shops, and a 15-minute walk to Tonquin Beach. Joe is incredibly helpful and accommodating. He had fresh bread, fruit and coffee for the guests each morning. I would highly recommend the Trek Inn to anyone looking to travel on a budget!
