There are many resorts and properties in the long beach/Tofino area and Long Beach Lodge ranks amongst the best. With oceanfront rooms and “rainforest cottages” (which feature two bedrooms and two bathrooms), there is well appointed accommodation for everyone. With a good dining room overlooking the ocean and across to a large beach, you will love staying here whether for a short or long stay. While the property is about twenty years old, it has been very well maintained.
We enjoyed our 3 day BC Ferries vacations trip. This was the first time we have made time for ourselves. Watching the big waves and tides from the shore was a good change as we have a Ocean Cruising boat and have been caught in the swells and strong winds while cruising the coast.
We loved our room and the Great room. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and the food was delicious. The view from our room was outstanding and the fire pits were lively. We will definitely be back in the future.
This is our 3rd year having a staycation at Long Beach Lodge in January. My hubby's birthday is in January and we have really enjoyed our stays here. The waitress was amazing, during my husbands birthday dinner. We order the lamb dinner for 2, and my hubby being from England always orders his meat "well done". As we are patiently waiting for the lamb to be cooked, the waitress knowing I preferred my lamb medium....she went to the chef and asked if they could take my portion out early when it was cooked to my preference. She did this without me asking, and my lamb was perfect and my husband's lamb was well done as per his request. Long Beach Lodge at this time of year does a "locals discount". We have stayed in lodge room, the penthouse room, and this year on of the cabin. We will be continuing this tradition of staying at this wonderful resort. …
You know you're a pain in the ass when you block the resort entrance and the person you're blocking is the owner of the resort... But from the owner to every member of the staff we experienced first class service, cheery attitudes and help with every need or concern we could have. We choose to stay in a room under the restaurant, which just happened to be both pet-friendly and have one of the best views of the beach on Cox Bay. While we were warned beforehand that there might be some noise from above, as the staff cleaned early in the morning, honestly it wasn't too bad and we appreciated the head's up at the time of booking. The room was comfortable with a king bed, a couple of chairs inside and outside to watch the waves, a widescreen television with Telus content, coffee and tea, cream in a mini fridge and a small jar of mixed nuts, a desk, plenty of usb charging connections, raincoats for the beach and bathrobes/slippers for the hot tub and sauna. We loved the local supplies of shampoos, conditioners, creams and soaps--great west coast smells and textures! We ate at the in-house restaurant (reservations recommended) and found our meals to be well-prepared and very tasty. And again the staff were both attentive and helpful, yet gave us plenty of space to enjoy the views of the ocean and eat our meals at our own pace. Tables were spaced far enough apart that you didn't feel you were infringing on anyone's private moments and enjoyment. Prices were inline for Tofino (high), but lower than comparable food and lodging in Banff and Whistler (crazy high and really high). So, what about improving such a great experience? Small details like a baseboard heater being askew or the toilet being installed a few degrees out of alignment can be attributed to a hasty installation--almost not even worth mentioning. Bigger issues such as the in-floor heating not working in the bathroom and toxic smelling fumes coming from the (new) gas fireplace were definitely worth bringing to the attention of the staff. But these were things the staff probably wouldn't have known about, and did not impact our stay is such a negative way that being a whiny guest could have made our stay any better. We were more concerned with running out of cream for our coffee, and the staff were more than willing to fix our java issues! Overall, this was a very nice experience, and the resort has one of the best accesses to the beach.…
We all had a great time - the food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful - the room we stayed in was perfect for storm watching! The folks at the lodge knew it was my birthday and made it that much more special with a bottle of wine, a card and candles! January is a tough time of the year to go however, as there was not a lot open in Tofino - but being at the lodge made up for it!
Have stayed at the rainforest cottage for 3 nights, which is well surrounded by lovely greenbelt with high degree of privacy. Love the unique semi-open hot tube on the patio, and comfy and practical homey settings of the cottage. The cottage is noted to be very maintained indeed! The last but not the least, all serving staffs were very friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much, and look forward to coming back soon!
My boyfriend and I wanted to give ourselves a quiet break, we’re both RN’s and wanted a chance to turn off and just spend time together and the lodge was everything we hoped for. We had everything we needed right there, from beach hikes, to the hot tub at the surf club and the gorgeous brunch every morning. We felt so welcomed by all the staff and had fun meeting other travellers as well as locals around the lodge. We will be back ASAP!
Nestled in the forest, it felt like we didn’t have any neighbours during our stay! Perfectly equipped - we cooked a great meal and then enjoyed our private hot tub. The mattresses were heavenly. Dog friendly is a must for us - thank you for being so accommodating to our family members! We will absolutely be back. The only thing wrong with the stay was that we didn’t stay long enough.
This hotel is right on the beach with wonderful views of the bay rom the restaurant and bar. Lovely outside bar and restaurant area with fire pits. Food and service was excellent and do make sure you book a table for dinner in advance so not disappointed. Nice rooms as you would expect for such a hotel. Good car parking facilities also . Thanks for a lovely stay.
