My wife and I loved Bella Pacifica. We were in a 25 foot class B+ motorhome in the sea view terrace area. Sites up there are conventional parallel trailer/Rv parking, not huge but adequate. Most sites could use a new dose of road-base (fine gravel) to reduce the dirt/mud, but it was a bit exacerbated by a huge rain/windstorm we had.

It was a short walk down to the beach but next time we’ll try to get a spot at beach level. Most of those have full hookups and many are long enough for our unit. A few positive comments (besides the incredible beach and old growth forest.) 1/ the wifi was great. Admittedly we were near the washroom where the wifi transmitter was, I could aim my ubiquiti receiver directly across the road at the antenna. One of the days was very stormy, a Netflix kind of day, so we were happy to be well connected. 2/ the (half km?) road in was freshly graded when we were here so the campground must have listened to other reviews. 3/ some of the tent sites made me wish we were still tenters. Wow the variety of twisty roots and trees, with tent pads in amongst them was so cool, and a few were also a hop, skip from the beach.

The beach is a good one for walks, ocean watching, bike riding, and surfing, though I think avid surfers know of better breaks than this one. Tofino is a bike-rideable distance about 3 km, with a multi-use path so you don’t need to ride on the road.

We think this campground is a pretty solid 4/5 though we haven’t experienced it in the busy period. But as recent retirees, we camp mostly in shoulder season...we’ll definitely be back.

The campsite is located on the beach
Pitches prices vary depending on their proximity to the sea
We had a small pitch in the campsite (no seaside) and the price is really excessive
The toilets are not always very clean
$2 for 2 minutes of shower: that too is excessive
The land is well wooded and clean
Access to the beach simplified by wooden stairs

The location of the campground is unbeatable. Most of the pitches have a view of the beach due to the terraced terrain. But that comes at a price, both in terms of the pitch price and the individual space available. Tents and campers are much closer together than at other sites. But that would be acceptable.
What is annoying is the lack of hygiene; the sanitary facilities are cleaned too rarely and not thoroughly. The lights are dimmed so that it is not so noticeable. If you are largely self-sufficient in the camper, you can live with that.
What is really annoying is the casual, not to say unfriendly, manner of the young staff. I have never experienced anything like that at any other site in Canada.

We stayed for a week at Bella Pacifica which has a rule on their website which states “Maximum of 4 persons per site “.I wrote the following letter to Bella Pacifica detailing our concerns observed during our stay which has not been responded to .

We just finished a 7 day stay at Bella Pacifica and for the first 5 days enjoyed our stay. It appeared that the Covid regulations were being adhered to . Limited number of people in sites and only one vehicle per site. Masks were worn in the washrooms.
On Saturday we moved into site 6 and directly beside us in site 7 a large group set up their site . There were anywhere from 5 to10 people in the site and at times people walked in and joined the group. This was a group of young people with 3 dogs 2 of which were never tied up or on a leash . There were always 2 cars and a times 3 . As the vehicles changed we assumed that the people in site 7 were local to Tofino.I phoned the office on Friday at 8:30 to express my concern about the size of the group and the visitors. I was told that there would be a patrol at 9:30 but when I questioned the visitors to the site I was given no explanation.
My husband stepped in dog feces on the gravel trail to the bathroom and we had another pile of feces in our site beside our fire pit which we stepped in and tracked onto our outdoor mat and into our vehicle. These dogs walked throughout the campground all weekend and were never leashed.
I am copying the relevant sections of your Covid policy and general policy.
“ A strict no visitor policy has been implemented. All guests must be registered at office prior to entering campground.”
“Security sweeps will be increased throughout both day and night.”
“Pets must be kept on a leash at all times. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Pets must not be left unattended.”
I would like clarification of the number of people and dogs permitted in a site .

If campground management had wanted to allow a young group to party on the weekend during Covid they could have placed them in one of the sites at the back of the property and not in the smallest most expensive sites on the beach. The campground had only half of its sites occupied.

If you are looking for camping a few steps away from the beach in Tofino, this is the spot for you. Located just off the banks for Mackenzie Beach, Bella Pacifica Campground has the amenities you are looking for - coin operated showers and laundry, bathrooms with flushable toilets and running water, s’mores kits, firewood with views that are worth the cost. During our visit we stayed in lot 88, this was one of the forested areas with beach access two sites away. Some of the sites are smaller but with a lot to do in and around Tofino, you will have a lot to do than staying at your site. We will be back!!

One of the worse campgrounds I've ever been to. If you like camping directly beside 5 other people with ZERO privacy and listening to dogs bark all day, you'll love it here. Honestly, I did notice other sites that wouldn't be as bad as what we were given. I had reserved a site back in March and was able to pick any location, and ask for a site route. I asked for one that was somewhat private, but was given this. When I called he said it's usually all booked out by October and this was likely the last they had., but that doesn't make sense because as I said, I had my pick of any of the site routes. Tin wis sucks. People complained of the ocean sites, but I think they would of been a lot better than this trash. I've camped all over BC, obviously prefer the rec sites that are first come first serve so you can pick your location. But even in Banff AB being one of Canada's hot spots for tourism has sites aimed towards a real camping feel with privacy. So don't be deceived by the pictures and try and actually see this site if possible before making a reservation so you know what your wasting your money on.

Camped here in the Spring and Fall for 15 years in the forested sites. Never had any complaints and always enjoyed my stay.

Then they turn it into just another price gouge fest…. more than doubling the rates by extending the their “high season” while increasing the rates overall. Last year it cost me $44 to camp here late Sept-early Oct and the campground was half empty. This year the minimum is $105 for the same dates / same sites + extra for showers and firewood. I won’t be returning.

Resort inaccessible by road b/c wildfire. We learned of the closure from friends in the area. But, no calls or email messages or anything from the resort about the problem 2 days before we were scheduled to depart and despite being a 2 day's drive away. Daily calls to them went unanswered/not returned. Emails same. Finally got thru on the new reservations line, which they are answering! Insisted on charging cancellation fee b/c we didn't cancel 7 days in advance. Egregiously unprofessional outfit. Used to be a nice place to stay. Now you're treated like a mark & insulted with fees for things they could have easily prevented but didn't bother to.

Still one of the nicest sites on the west coast (Tofino) and I believe the only place you can camp just steps from the beach. We have now been staying here for over 25 years, 1-3 weeks a year. It can be very full through most of the year but tends to be less busy in the late fall due to unpredictable weather but that's just the nature of the west coats. We always stay in site 8 which is the largest and nicest site on the waterfront but they do limit the waterfront sites to 18 foot trailers or smaller. It can be loud on weekends but that's why we carry ear plugs. :>)

We booked this site half a year ago (insane) and it was worth the wait :) What better than having the beach as your backyard. The camping site is divided by trees so that there is privacy. The bathrooms and showers are clean for camping standard (I didn't take a shower here b/c I was too cold). During the summer, there is campfire ban due to forest fires so pls respect the rule! This site is huge. Dont bother setting an alarm - the ravens and steller jays will do the job. Next time, we would to get the ocean view spots ..maybe booking 2 years ahead?
